only minor gripe i have is that i wish there could have been an epilogue, what happens to henry, what happens to delilah, what happens to julia in the future (hell, what happens to the teenage girls lol); it would be like the prologue, you have to choose the resolution to julia's story (do you stay with her and does she pass on or do you divorce her and forget about her, and does her family contact you again, or is there some other scenario), and then later on you meet up with delilah and see her and then you have to make another choice based on the context, whether you want to stay with her in a relationship or marry her or forget about her. I don't think it was Ned. It could've been a bear destroy the tent while the girls could've been swimming at that time or wondering around or messing with the radio tower at that time. It's pretty common bears destroying tents and knowing those two girls, they probably left some food out. It's pretty obvious it was a bear.
I love this game because it's relaxing and imersive. The story was very realistic and I love that too. It feels like one of those films inspired from a real story.
Some games are great with commentary. This is not one of those games. Playing this game should be treated like watching a good movie with a well written story or reading a good book. You want to pay attention and have a cathartic experience. It's a story about regular people like you. Complete with their own unique strengths, weaknesses, flaws, challenges and circumstances. They face struggle, uncertainty and tragedy just like you do in your own life. And they deal with it in their own way, like you. That's why it's interesting and gripping. Great game
This so so relaxing to listen to. It's odd though, because I'm hearing things I didn't when I played it. Like him singing in the cave or talking about the ranger signs... It's like my memory is foggy haha! :D
This game has so much potential for an even scarier spinoff. Slenderman? Sure. Sasquatch? Hella. Chase sequence, glances of someone following you, they could even really ratchet up the suspense. I like this game a lot as is, and would love to see an even scarier version
Is it me or does anyone else think that Delilah seems... Suspicious? Idk it's just.. some of her responses to Henry seemed weird. Like how she seems to not care about Henry's survival sometimes and some of her reactions like that idea to burn down the tent seems odd. Also, her overly friendly attitude seems like a facade... Idk maybe it's just me. I was actually hoping for her be the person behind all of this in the end. I thought this was like a psychological experiment of some kind on Henry about how a similar effect to the stockholm syndrome occurs in a person who's been in isolation for a small period of time. Hell, that could actually be possible. And maybe the "ending" was not really an ending? I mean, think about it.. Imagine a game where you manipulate someome and observe their reactions and in the end the subject was mislead into believing that he wasn't manipulated or that he wasn't part of an experiment.. So you did your job well.. That could be exactly what happened here, whoever manipulated Henry (I still believe it was Delilah) did their job so well that Henry was manipulated into believing everything was Ned's doing. Hell.. Maybe he was in on the experiment as well.. I use the word "manipulated" cuz in the report about him that apparently Ned wrote his "susceptibility to Manipulation" was 9. A higher number than Delilah which was a 3. "susceptibility to manipulation" they telling us to believe that Ned wrote that? Seriously? No fucking way.. Ned, who lost his fucking son would spend time writing very detailed reports about two random people. And Henry even said that there were things in the report that he didn't tell Delilah about. So, if it was Ned and he was just listening to their radios, how in the world would he know those details? There's no way Ned was the one behind all this. *Sigh* My point is that I think..the story was not what it seemed on the surface. I'm sure of it. There's gotta be something going on. Maybe.. It's like a detective story but the protagonist doesn't solve anything.. We the player/viewer have to find out what actually happened?
and we still dont get answer from 1 radio mistake delilah forgot to turn off, when henry ask is it about him,she annoyed delilah said someone dont have a clue

Thank you for doing a playthrough all at once and not dividing it into crappy 25 parts. Even though I'm disappointed by the end I am happy to have watched your playthrough, it is certainly a very special game.
at first I was disappointed at the ending but the message it sends is so real. that's what happens when you try to escape your reality. the escape can be really nice at first, but the false paradise you've built will come burning down as a consequence of not facing your problems.
Think I've watched this video about 5 times this year, and plan to watch it again in December. Firewatch really is a game the revolves around problems, mystery and truth, and how we as humans deal with and react to it. It’s now august 2024, just been thinking off and on about Everything. Early November of 2024, I've tried twice for a job and so far, no dice. Nothings really worked right for me this year. Hopefully things will start to look up.
RicoSeattle When you ask about the missing sign, she says someone stole it, and when you say something like "What kind of idiot would take a pond sign?" Delilah gets all defensive and says something like "Well, it's a GOOD looking sign! Imagine how great it would look on someones mantle!" then it turns out she stole it XD
Just finished this game last night, such a good game! I loved it! 1:24:12 Once you get knocked out by that guy, I was on edge the rest of the game. It scared the living soul out of me 😭
The ending hurt... I hate it when I don't get closure BUT I also love that since most games and movies resort from doing that... So... Yeah. I love that I hated the ending :)
Thank you for posting this with no commentary! I actually liked the ending. The game is about not being able to run away from your troubles, and I think it is only fitting that Henry is admonished by Julia to go back to Julia.

It is more of an interactive movie than a game but it is so memorable. The down to earth story is very refreshing and the voice acting sounds too good. It is very similar to Tresspaser in its atmosphere.
This game just gives your heart a rollercoaster ride and just leaves it floating in the sky. I wouldn't say that the ending was bad, but there could have been an alternative ending where you see Delilah. The best thing this game does is that it leaves a first hand memory of the events so that you remember them like they happened in your life.
Thank you for not feeling compelled to show your face over half the screen and screaming or laughing like a moron on drugs all over the gameplay. Another real nice walkthrough
I played this game a couple years back and loved it. I've recently been playing the long dark which reminded me of this game so I found your video and watched the game rather than playing it again. The people complaining about skipping the story at the beginning or you getting lost apparently don't know about the pause and skip forward options. I didn't mind it at all. Great video, thanks.
1:35:43 WOW i'm so glad that I remembered this reference from Gone Home. Loved this game so much and loving even more firewatch just because of this book. For those who don't know, terrence greenbriar (the author of this book) is an unsuccessful writer, also the father of the sister's protagonist of the game Gone home, sam, who is the most important character of the narrative. A quick detail for both games, but I confess that made me smile.
you know what's interesting. Games like this always seems so stupid when you first look at them. But I actually like games like this. It's very calming in the beginning is very relaxed it. In fact to me it's almost has the makings of a movie. And having been an actual volunteer fire watchman once in the mountains of Central Washington I can tell you that in some cases that's largely what they do. They spend most of their time in the watchtowers looking for smoke. Its actually only quite rare that they are asked to go and confront individuals that are doing stupid things. the graphics are actually quite nice especially for something that's so cartoony looking. In a way this kind of reminds me of the ps3 digital download game journey. It's very simplistic in nature but its still very compelling. and I admit that even though the back story is all told through text the simple fact that this is about a guy who has a wife who's dealing with the onset of Alzheimer's actually makes you a bit more invested so to speak in the character of Henry.
+ultrajd The visuals are great, was always investing but still relaxing. And the setting also really lends itself to being a mystery, just the uncertainty of it all. That's what I liked so much about it, and I guess that's what's part of the fun in the job too. Not that I'm asking about you personally, but is it true that most lookouts get the job because they're getting away from something? I mean that's a lot of alone time up there.
Buutaro well there are a few people that do that but it's actually not as common as the game makes it sound. Most of the time it's people that are just trying something different in life. Though the one individual that I spoke to a couple of times over the radio who had just gone through a divorce so while it isn't overly common it does happen.
***** Ah, I see. It's certainly a given but yea, I didn't think it'd be so common. Where in Washington did you volunteer? I'd be interested to look into it someday.
Buutaro I don't recall the actual name of the area anymore because it's been quite a few years. But it was out near Spokane. The closest thing I could suggest is simply Google firewatch volunteer job or something and then see where that gets you. I want to warn you though it can be quite boring. But at the same time it's kind of nice. But you have to be to an individual who can stand being on your own for a long time so you might get a partner but that's rare at least it was when I did it. And you also need to be at least a fairly good Woodsman.
I’d rather just watch the game than play it I hate trying to find my way around maps like this it just causes me anxiety and stress and irritation when I can’t find where to go
All the time I when hear Henry, I just kept thinking about Dean from In the Dark. I knew that voice sounded familiar XD. Anywho, it was a nice game, but freaked me out a bit. Some parts felt so isolating an made me paranoid, I was doubting what was real and what wasn't anymore. So many ideas running in my mind. I began to think the whole thing was in Henry's head (yes, even if Delilah was in on it or if she was even real). I especially kept anticipating a bear attacking while hiking haha. When you found the ax, I felt a bit better. I like to go walking at night, this game really inspired me to be more careful. Think I'll start carrying a pack of basics, just in case. Thumbs up.
Great walk thru. Really reminds me of my teenage obsession with Sierra Online adventure games. Of course, this is so much more sophisticated... Thanks, man.
What a depressing ending. I mean, with how it started, and how things were going half way through the game before shit got weird... But nope. Delilah has no desire to see him and he's off to see his wife who won't even know who the fuck he is and in-law's who don't like him. And what really sucks, if that after 77 days talking to each other and everything they experienced, she still couldn't even get his name right.
I felt the game was a little misleading at the beginning... What was up with D talking to someone while H was listening, saying, "I don't think be knows. Absolutely not," etc. I thought she knew more than what she was telling. Then the girls go missing and other strange things happen that really make you invested since there seems to be something sinister happening. Then everything slowly wraps up neatly and just left me feeling underwhelmed. Seems like there was a lot more potential to be had with this game. But anyway, thanks for the video!!!
Kendall Holleman well, it’s made that you would feel the same disappointment as Henry when realising Delilah left without meeting you. That’s the intention and I personally think it was done beautifully:) oh, and I’m a bit late to respond to your three year old comment lol
1:04:39 you its possible this is where Ned ran off at during the end of the game yes Delilah did say it was an impossible hike but remember he was living here for a few years as a hermit so he probably had learned a lot of survival and hiking experience during those years.
I decided I needed to watch an LP of this cause I learned Delilah is voiced by the same VA who voices Lilith on Disney's Owl House. The fact that the LP was No Commentary was an added bonus.

It's pretty common bears destroying tents and knowing those two girls, they probably left some food out. It's pretty obvious it was a bear.
I love this game because it's relaxing and imersive. The story was very realistic and I love that too. It feels like one of those films inspired from a real story.
it is not a game it is a story. no challenges

Maybe you simply chose different dialogue options.
Dementia like his wife? Jk
maybe they uploaded some new patchs.
Yeah I use this video playing in the background while I do stuff sometimes
Someone addressed it but they removed the Africa reference over some legal stuff, so that might be why you don’t remember it haha
SPOILERS***
When he was looking at Brian's dead body, I was just waiting for it to jump out and attack. I've played too many horror games.
This game has so much potential for an even scarier spinoff. Slenderman? Sure. Sasquatch? Hella. Chase sequence, glances of someone following you, they could even really ratchet up the suspense. I like this game a lot as is, and would love to see an even scarier version
Oh wow... So I'm not the only one
*cough* *cough* the police officer from season one
Yeah as he was running away, I always feel like he's gonna get jumped from behind by someone or something XD
Turt Reynolds was the real MVP.
i kinda feel that ending wasnt very satisfying, would like to see some dlc or something like that
3:02:20. I loved your indecision. It was beautiful and fit the moment.
lol yeah
Thank God for UA-camrs like you that dont have commentary that just let us enjoy the immersion of the game. :)
*Sigh*
My point is that I think..the story was not what it seemed on the surface. I'm sure of it. There's gotta be something going on.
Maybe.. It's like a detective story but the protagonist doesn't solve anything.. We the player/viewer have to find out what actually happened?
and we still dont get answer from 1 radio mistake delilah forgot to turn off, when henry ask is it about him,she annoyed
delilah said someone dont have a clue
@murnavid for what reason?
for most of time, she kept her cool
except burnin techy camp and this,y,did somethign get under her skin?what she hidin?
and paper inside the fence is really suspicious
She is a woman, that's all 😁
I wouldnt be surprised that Ned did all that, he was there for three years remember, i wouldnt be surprised if he went crazy or was at least bored
I felt the same way, I totally agree.

omg thank you for this
Thank you for doing a playthrough all at once and not dividing it into crappy 25 parts.
Hopefully things will start to look up.
lol Delilah has the "Pork Pond" sign in her tower
Lol
+Elizabeth Lawrence What's special about the Pork Pond?
RicoSeattle When you ask about the missing sign, she says someone stole it, and when you say something like "What kind of idiot would take a pond sign?" Delilah gets all defensive and says something like "Well, it's a GOOD looking sign! Imagine how great it would look on someones mantle!" then it turns out she stole it XD
Just finished this game last night, such a good game! I loved it! 1:24:12 Once you get knocked out by that guy, I was on edge the rest of the game. It scared the living soul out of me 😭
Just finished the game rn
I was honestly expecting the game to turn into full on horror from that point forward
The ending hurt... I hate it when I don't get closure BUT I also love that since most games and movies resort from doing that... So... Yeah. I love that I hated the ending :)
I don’t think that’s how you use the word resort
Thank you for posting this with no commentary! I actually liked the ending. The game is about not being able to run away from your troubles, and I think it is only fitting that Henry is admonished by Julia to go back to Julia.
As someone who is at risk of getting Huntington's disease this game is kinda relatable in the beginning plot. Kinda outlines my worst fears in life
Sorry but what's Huntingtons disease?
@@angel79nunn "Huntington's disease is a rare, inherited disease that causes the progressive breakdown (degeneration) of nerve cells in the brain. Huntington's disease has a wide impact on a person's functional abilities and usually results in movement, thinking (cognitive) and psychiatric disorders"
Can’t believe they took that short segment from The Stanley Parable and made it into a full game.
It is more of an interactive movie than a game but it is so memorable. The down to earth story is very refreshing and the voice acting sounds too good. It is very similar to Tresspaser in its atmosphere.
Honestly if they were to make this into a movie it would probably make millions if not billions of dollars.
They should make this in VR, such a great experience
It is in VR I believe
"It's 6:45."
Looks at the clock on the wall that says 4:26..... I guess it's a good thing that telling time isn't an important part of the job.
If you go closer to the clock you get a message saying it's broken, so it's probably not that clock he's looking at.

This has been one of the most beautiful and amazing games I have seen in a long time
Thank you for uploading this! It's nice to see a walkthrough without commentary in this kind of story-driven games.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Great plot, great gfx, great soundtrack and character development. Hopefully more to come from these developers.
"I got stung by a bee!" Probably the most tragic and touching moments in the whole game. Darn bee.
What you need with a story based game no commentary, great video.
you know what's interesting.
***** I'll remember that someday for sure, thanks for the responses and info man
No commentary are the best. I remember when you could find plenty around.
I'm so happy he brought the turtle with him... If he didn't, he would of died in the fire. Good job!
Justin Byron he didn't grab his wedding ring though
The storyline was so intriguing. This game was very well thought out. 😎👍
1:02:25 YES!!!
Watching this feels like watching a good movie, thank you for the upload!
pure game-play. Videos like these, without comments are the best!

for what it was, that game was beautiful not only visuals but in its story telling too!
And the only human you actually see close up is the rescue dude.
The best part‼️

Yup
Thought this game came out this year
Just watched this all the way through and I dont think I blinked once. That ending pissed me off though
I’d rather just watch the game than play it I hate trying to find my way around maps like this it just causes me anxiety and stress and irritation when I can’t find where to go
Play it bro it’s so fun
I felt like I was watching a movie, thank you so much ❤
The ending felt like a miscarriage.
LMAO! thats actually the best way to describe the ending.
Thumbs up.
couldn't have ask for a better ending loved it and you're gameplay
How about you give it more than .02 seconds before moving on when we're reading...
my thoughts exactly lmao
just pause the video kid

i realized i was so paranoid through out the whole gameplay that i missed out on a lot lmao gonna play again
The name was a joke but apart from that then I agree
Great video. Excellent game. Superb storytelling and characterisation.
This game just became everybody's wallpaper LOL
Indeed! Every frame is a wallpaper!
Just completed the game, Damn I wanted to see what Delilah looked like! :D :D
I actually like the ending, it was a let down for a moment, but then I reflected on the whole story.
yup I thought the ending was pretty good actually
I barely remembered the plot from 8 years so I needed a rewatch. This is way better without commentary
This is like watching a movie, I love it.
Insane ending! I kinda see why ppl hated it. So much left unknown. Maybe they meet up again. GREAT GAME.

The fact that he was about to put it back where it was but when she said his privates were small I think he got angry.

Deadass about to read every book I saw in this game tho
I feel you did a very good job at playing through this game I enjoyed your playthrough and Keep doing games like this.
Cool game but the end was kind of a let down.
Kendall Holleman well, it’s made that you would feel the same disappointment as Henry when realising Delilah left without meeting you. That’s the intention and I personally think it was done beautifully:) oh, and I’m a bit late to respond to your three year old comment lol
Great,i was just looking for a video like this THANKS...
I really wish you wouldn’t skip through the text so fucking fast in the intro
Exactly what I'm looking for! Thank you!
all intense games start with being chill like life is strange games
1:04:39 you its possible this is where Ned ran off at during the end of the game yes Delilah did say it was an impossible hike but remember he was living here for a few years as a hermit so he probably had learned a lot of survival and hiking experience during those years.
I wish we could have meet Delilah .....
Thanks for the upload. Loved this. Could not stop watching. I get the feeling you're not very good with directions the lol.
1:24:11 scared the hell out of me when i played the game
I decided I needed to watch an LP of this cause I learned Delilah is voiced by the same VA who voices Lilith on Disney's Owl House.
The fact that the LP was No Commentary was an added bonus.
After watching this vid, I thought that"Huh people should know where to go before recording..."
