I am new to your channel after seeing you on AAA's livecast. I am really appreciating the little tips and education you are giving me especially on the bank fishing!
New to the fishing game, didn’t want to have to bring EVERYTHING I have each time I go out this spring. This gives me an idea of just what to take, keep it simple and have fun. Rather than lugging around my entire collection, not realizing that most of it is not in season yet!
Snowstorm tonight, 50s by mid-week, spring bank fishing next weekend! Great suggestions, gonna load up the backback with a few of each and have me some fun! Great content this week!

In Spring, I'm not fishing for bass, but I am fishing for pike. Really early Spring, I'm throwing a jerkbait, a lipless, an inline spinner, and a spoon and in late Spring I'm throwing the jerkbait and spoon still, but I drop the inline spinner and pick up spinnerbaits and flatside crankbaits and squarebills.
For those who are struggling to learn how to fish a jig, don’t give up on it it’s worth learning, I recommend getting a tungsten finesse jig, and no they’re not that expensive and there are plenty of options just good tungsten finesse jig or Bass Pro Shops has one for like $4-$5 depending on the size it has 9 color options and 5 weight options, get the best rod you can convince yourself to buy or use the best one ya got put some braid, obviously if you fish super clear water you wait use a Fluorocarbon or at least a leader on it all this will help you feel the jig on the bottom and feel the bites, put a small trailer on it like a Zman trd ned bait or the Zman baby goat or whatever you like just keep it small, you’ll get bite trust me, pop it, drag it, shake it, swim it, find out what the fish want, it’s a magical bait once you get the hang of it!!
I have a zodias with a curado Dc dedicated to a jig. I am going to put in some time with the jig this season and hopefully get that "jig bite" feeling.
Excellent choices, but I also thing the vibrating jig should be in there, especially my favorite, the Thunder Cricket. They're great in stained water and low light.
Hey Debo, great choices. Spinnerbaits are my all time confidence lures. After that it’s lipless & squarebills. I’ve been putting a lot of time in with the Ned. It’s a fish catcher & has become one of my favorite ways to fish.👊
Iv been eyeing the Japanese horizontal suspending jerkbaits like the O.S.P. asura. They dont nose down they just zip flat in the water. Sounds good! But pricey...
Decided to get some Zman Micro finesse baits and catch some plate fare. This was a brilliant idea. I've been throwing the StingerZ,Shad FryZ, and Micro Goat. I've caught some humongous bluegill, channel cats and now some rainbow trout. Color selection is great. These baits are more fun than I thought they would. I've got all but 3 colors. Space Guppy and Electric Chicken are my favorites. You gotta throw some of this stuff Debo!!
Hi Debo! There's only perch and pike that I can catch spinning in my area. Would you say some of these would work on them? (adjusting lure sizes in instances cuz of course perch is not as big as bass)

Listen to the man. Ned, Spinner, jig. Thats all you need. I add a topwater walker and a crankbait but thats just because those are my confidence baits. Keep it simple. You don't need much.

I’d add in a swim jig and swap out the jerkbait for the Berkeley frittside crank. The clickin frittside almost suspends, I was fishing it the other day kind of like a jerkbait with some good catches. Lipless and finesse jigs can’t be beat. I agree about the ball finesse jig, to point where it’s now the only finesse jig head style I carry. …. Great content
Definitely a good video! A lot of the same methods I use. Used to not fish the jig much because of hang ups until a guy I started fishing with gave me some confidence in it. Now it's my go to in the river where I normally fish. Bigger bites with a jig for sure. Bitsy jigs are cheap enough to lose here and there.
I use the ewg ned hooks also and it saves me a ton. Also idk why people complain about a ned rig but will drag a worm, or jig, shakey head, twitch a drop shot. It’s just fun to hate on ned right because it works.
Is it really spring if the temps are back into the 30s? Sorry to see you got snow, we may get a little tomorrow. Can’t wait for winter to actually go away & get those 50°+ water temps!
Nope I think you hit it on the head Debo with these baits these are what I start with only thing not all the time but here in pa the weather is so screwy and then spring we’ll get a lot of rain so most of the times we’re starting later here so once I start seeing some bluegill start coming up to the shallows instead of the jerk bait cuz I hate throwing it if I don’t have to in replacement I’ll throw a fluke and fish it just like the jerk bait but lil deeper for me it’s not so much getting stuck idk if it’s the weight of it but my line sinks faster than I want it to and I just feel like I don’t get a good retrieve I know it don’t make much sense being a fluke like the same thing but the line just follows it perfectly so when ya pop it has the right action

A bluegill Spinnerbait is money from spring until late fall for me !! I’d add a wacky rig weightless or with a 1/16th weighted hook . With the exception of a Ned rig I caught fish on all these baits this morning in the rain
There is never a bad time for a ned rig. I'd like to see Debo fish some big swimbaits, glide baits, and a-rigs this season.
I asked him the same thing and he said he needs someone to show him how to throw all that. which is understandable.

I love throwing spinnerbaits early spring. Adding to my arsenal, I picked up a few Smithwith Rouge Jr's.
Would these work in South Georgia? It's been about 58 degrees in the morning and 81 degrees in the afternoon.

I've fished it 1 time for about 15 minutes in lake Huron. I don't have the patience for that technique 😅

A spinnerbait is great when its windy.Also like the jig but my go to is the 1/8oz bitsy bug jig

Have to agree with every single one of these baits! I would add another one and that’s a speed worm.
I tried a lipless crank bait at my pond and got hung up on the second cast. I didn’t even get to enjoy it :(
the only thing I would have added is a pegged texas rig for a substitute for the jig but great list
