@ryko26 young people from east berlin wanted to see a rock concert in west berlin, shouting "tear down the wall". ddr-police beat em up, west berlin television was present and members of the tv crew were injured.
Ragnvald Yes they could, Brandenburger Tor and the Reichstag, which is where the concert was, are only a couple of meters apart. I hope some of the guys who got beaten up managed to see Bowie and the other artists who played that night, later in their lives after the wall fell down. Walls are stupid.
