Ok, so it took a couple of days to eventually sync my M430 with the Polar App on my phone. It takes ages to pair and then ages to sync whereas my old N58 Smart watch was in constant contact with my phone via the App. ie constantly updating. The only button on it stopped working after about 3 months but it kept recording and transferring data to my phone. I didn't need a button to press!!! Crikey!!! Now it seems that the Polar M430 needs to have the BACK button pressed to update the Polar Flow App on my phone. All this button pressing is getting very depressing or am I missing something here? If I have to keep pressing buttons all the time the strap is going to break! And where can I find the sleep data please? The Manual says it is in My Day but I can tell you that there is no sleep data in there!
How many more years do you see this watch still serviceable? I just want to buy a good quality, budget GPS watch that can last me for 5 years or so, I hate to worry about buying new gadgets after 1 year... Is this watch a good fit for my needs?
It can last a week or so without long trainings. When I ran 60-80min sessions with HRM and Gps to high accuracy, it ladt about 3 days. Takes 1hour to charge.
I love Polar and have been using their HRM watches and straps for over a decade. I started with S720 and was viewing my data on my old PC. This was many years before Strava and iPhone apps and smart app watches. I like the fact that Polar is the most experience company for HRM watches and knows how to present data. I went to the M400 when the S720 became to outdated. This watch requires a HR strap so it’s fine for my primary sport of cycling and mountain biking but I wanted a wrist based HR watch for gym and indoor training so I bought the M600 The M600 worked ok, had a lot of synchronization issues and eventually stopped synchronizing with Polar Flow on my phone. Now I’m deciding this older model M430 or get the more advanced Vantage M or V. I have years of historical data on Polar, almost 20 years of teaching Spin and all my cycling “Pre-Strava” What is your opinion on the reliability of Polar HRM watches and should I buy this older M430 or just get the Vantage?
I’ve always said that Polar is the master at HRM. So the perfect device would be a polar HRM with Garmin GPS. As for which one, depends on what you need for features. The Vantage will have more and newer technologies. But that also comes with a price. So you need to weigh what you want, what you need and what you want to spend.
But does it automatically send all your steps to the App that you accumulate while walking round the house and garden and the supermarket etc etc, or do you have to press the BACK button to connect with the App and transfer the data? If I press the BACK button it takes about 30 seconds to connect with the phone and transfer the data. I have been told that if I do a training session it will update the app after the session is finished but presumably you have to press a button to confirm the session is over?
When is somebody going to tell us how much it cost to replace the battery after a few years of use? Where do we have to spend over $200 every couple years to replace it?
Hi, I can see that you also own fenix5. How is it for you when you compare them. For running, do you like m430 for running more than fenix5? Do you use one for sports? Maybe you use fenix5 every day for it's look? I am asking because I own M430 for almost 2 years and I am thinking to upgrading to Fenix5 but it's hard to justify the money.
@@Dirtyoldsneakers would you recommend it for football/soccer? And general use in the gym. Have you tried the v800? Do you still use yours? Or have you upgraded
I haven’t tried the 800 yet, waiting for them to send one for review. Sure, you can use it for anything, are you looking for more an HRM or GPS? As for me, I switch back and forth between this and Garmin.

about 5-6 years, which for the price range is a good deal.
Brilliant review but please show the watch more as you speak! I think I'm getting one. Thanks.
How long can you use the ⌚ between charges? Thanks 😊
I charge mine every 3 days.
@@QuoVadis696 => I charge my Nike+ ⌚ every month and it lasts just fine.

@@QuoVadis696 => the reason why my lasts 1 month is that I am not connecting to GPS or phone. I just use it as ⌚

how to turn off polar m430?
Wait until battery dies.

UA-cam size I don't know but I have my m430 two years and the battery is like the first day. I run every second day 10 km

Do you need to have your phone on you too
You do not. It’s got the GPS built in.

Buzzer sound is extra annoying for us headphone users. Not cool.
