My husband HATES DIY with a passion. If I want anything done in our house I have to do it myself. I've watched so many of your videos and now I'm plumbing and tiling a utility room. NEVER done anything like this before. Now I've levelled the floor, installed underfloor heating, levelled again, and tiled all but the tricky ones. I'm tiling around radiator pipes today. Your videos have made SUCH a difference ... so here's a super thanks (below), go buy yourself a beer on me. Gilly x (p.s. super thanks comment disappeared - hope you got it)
I saw a video of someone putting a little water inside the wood template. I put a wet sponge inside the bit and a little water inside the wood template, worked like a charm!
I've just gone back to college at 35 to learn plumbing and your vids have seriously pushed me along. Heart felt thanks. Also what happens to the pipework behind?
Uzi 1600 Me too. I’ve saved so much money from learning how to do things from invaluable sources of information like this video. It’s a shame not everyone appreciates them. All they do is criticise. These guide videos have helped given me the confidence to take on so many jobs myself and do them to a high standard. Thanks plumberparts.
Hi James, love your work. One thing I can’t get my head round is how to make it water tight after you’ve drilled? It seems we go overkill now using waterproof backing boards, then tanking and sealing the joints and fixings, only to drill dirty great holes through it all. Am I not understanding something? (Probably!)
I am trying to decide whether to do the tiling or not so the plumber can finish the shower. Whether I got with a tiler or do it myself, now I know how it is done - thanks.
You think you can tile a bathroom for the first time as good as a tiler who has done hundreds? Depends if your happy with a sub standard finish i suppose
@@bodyblow No I don't believe I could get the same as a tiler who has done hundreds of bathrooms but please don't presume to talk down to me given you have no idea what I am capable of and know nothing whatsoever about me.
Great job! I have drilled tons of pilot holes for toilet flanges where slight chips and imperfections don’t matter as much since they are under the toilet. I’m going to give this a trial before I move the shower head location from the Sheetrock ceiling to the tile wall.
Paul Hamilton Good call! Screwfix have one from Erbauer that gets good reviews. It’s £15 and surely will pay for itself on first use, when compared against damaging a tile or yourself!
There's one more way to keep the holesaw steady. There are similar types of tile hole saws to the wooden ones. They have a guide drill bit in the center.
I have a great suggestion based on years of experience. Whenever marking up anything on a surface you need to keep in good nick use 2 inch mask tape to pencil onto and when done just pull off the tape leaving no marks what so ever.
Dude need your pearls of wisdom before I destroy porcelain tiles, to reduce the chance of a break or chip at the back of the tiles using a wetsaw its said to flip the tile and notch it 1inch for small tiles and 2 inches for larger tiles, flip the tile back over and cut as normal and hopefully cut with no issues, or is the problem the blade, I bought a cheapo wet tile cutter do you think the blade that came with is prob not that good I have seen cutting disks that cost more than I paid for this el cheapo. thoughts pls buddy or anyone thanks in advance Paul.
Once u get it started its easier to have a water spray bottle handy that way u dont have to keep stopping to dip bit in water. U just keep spraying water on it as ur drilling

People wrap their powertools and batteries in different coloured tape incase they are working on a site or with other people so they dont get mixed up or even worse stolen.
I work with a guy who makes a straight circle hole with a angle grinder starting at the back of the tile and takes 2 mins at most. This guy using a £50 tool and £5 drill bit and has lots of time to kill
Tiles vary in density from standard ceramic through to porcelain. It takes considerably longer to drill through porcelain and the wear and tear on those hole cutters and drill bits, even when you take your time and regularly cool then off, is.... expensive. Same goes for actually cutting and shaping the tiles when you "whap em" on the walls/floor. Imagine how many holes you have to drill to fit a bathroom? Toilet pan and cistern, basin bolts, bath/shower screen, mirrors, loo roll holder, tooth brush holder, towel ladder/rad, towel ring etc etc..ad infinitum..... I hate porcs!!!!! Oh, and heaven hates ham. ua-cam.com/video/4LoWVkSyC0o/v-deo.html
True that. At the end of the job when the customer brings out twenty extra boxes with bog roll holders, mirrors, toothbrush holder etc etc etc etc. " Ooo can you just put these up for me?" 15 mins per hole in grade 5 porcelain. That'll be an extra days money please luv!! Fanks
@Barrie Fayers I've made that mistake before and now I make it explicitly clear in the quote. The right to surcharge for porcelain tiles. It's not just drilling and fixing to the tiles but cutting "L" shapes, notches and so forth. Try scoring and snapping a thin slither off a 10mm thick x 500mm long porc! I have used a big clinker tiling jig for the last 7 or 8 years and 90% of the time it has served me well, but on porcs...forget it!

Thank you for doing all the videos you do. I'm doing a plumbing course later in the year and your videos are the best to learn from. 👍
Thanks mate. Glad to help!
Hi Guys, I hope you enjoy this quick video! If you can donate to the Foundation of Goodness I'd be stoked!
How do you hold the wood in place without it slipping
Beware of a man with a plumber t shirt on pretending to be a plumber
Good video, and if the diamonds become clogged and dull you can freshen them up by drilling into an old brick🧱 . Learnt that one from skillbuilder 😆
Good call mate.

Love the wooden guide!
Saw some dudes putting a disk of wet sponge inside the drill to save on dipping
May God bless you and your friend for your charity work
I learn so much from these videos, really appreciate them
Thanks Uzi!

That is such a fab idea! The template idea is priceless. Hold tight!👍👍
Thanx for supporting us. God bless you 🙏

Guess who just earned a subscriber. That’s right you did. Way keep it entertaining. You sound like me working on stuff by myself 😂

Excellent video! 👏 Congratulations. Where is the hole cutting tool? I couldn't see it.
Thank you for this video... I really appreciate it .. but I have a question please .. how do you mark the spot on the tile with the pipe?
I love what you are doing
Thanks Ben!
use double sided tape to hold the wood in place, makes it a lot easier.
Why not use a rubi, sigma or montolit dry diamond tile cutter. They also have jigs to keep the diamond hole saw in place.
I guess it's for your DIYer who doesn't often need to do this task. Good shout though!
@@plumberparts just seemed expensive for one hole saw when you can buy kits for the same price. Have you been flying in this lovely weather?

Many thanks, much appreciated and you are most welcome, keep up the great work. Tony
Nice! I like the bloopers at the end too!
Excellent Video thank you, this really helped me.
My diamond corer has drill bits similar to holeset bits.
You're good bro, thanks for the video. Funny bro.

LEGEND!
Loving your videos man, also I’m from Sri Lanka 🤩
Hi what diameter of diamond cutter do i need fo 15 mm pipe
Great work mate could you please send me the link of tile holsaw set thanks
Only wear PPE when practicing, no need once you are a master plumber!!
Any plans
How would you make a 4 inch hole in tile for extractor fan?
Funny and
very informative……!!!
Once u get it started its easier to have a water spray bottle handy that way u dont have to keep stopping to dip bit in water. U just keep spraying water on it as ur drilling
I’m a tiler, ngl if you pour water in to the tile it’d be much quicker but that just what I was taught 8 years ago 😂

What bulbs do you have in that downlight you standing under?
Did you ever make it to Sri Lanka?
Where are you drilling to? Magic room that you can just screw shower heads into?
Narnia!
what pencil is that?
can you put that pencil on your amazon list i am fedup with snapping and loosing mine , ta. Excellent tips i usually end up dancing all round the place with my drill, its more fun ;-)
Hi just wondering what pencil you are using? Can't see it listed in your amazon store. Cheers
nice and fun as usual! please, tell, why is the drill battery wraped in tape? broken or smth else? tnanx, James!
People wrap their powertools and batteries in different coloured tape incase they are working on a site or with other people so they dont get mixed up or even worse stolen.
try putting a wet sponge beside the head and it will draw the water instead of stopping and starting
So thats how it is
Might be worth drilling the tile before it goes on the wall?
Nothing wrong with that to mate!
Nice one
And a suction pad as a jig
Ha Ha, love the bit at the start about measuring. Basically if you're an idiot this video isn't for you 😂
are your tiles out of paper or does my drill bit suck that hard
Do you have a link for the t-shirt?
shop.plumberparts.co.uk
what arbor was it?
Tell the tiler to cut around the shower, much simpler.
Instead of doing 'studio' mock ups, come round mine I'll let you do mine house out and film for free!!
Rookie 😄
Wish I’d seen this before messing my tiles up 😭
Just use some sikaflex, dude. If you fuck it up, just twist it off. No dramas and no holes, bbrrrrrrrrrap!
hold tight lol
Yes bruv!
£80 for that!!! They are about £10 in screwfix. I've got one and drilled 100 holes with it and glides through...
i use them grit hole-saws as well, plus you got the guide drill bit so no need to have this bit of osb board.
Yeah I'm gonna check them out. These Dart ones are great though...can't complain so far.
This video represents exactly why it sucks that UA-cam removed dislikes
!!!!!! You drill after tiling to uncover shower outlet

im 61 and got less lines on my forehead! lol.! whap dee doo eh?
Oi! 😂
Incontinence pads on the way
Already installed!
What make of diamond hole cutter are you using,
This is a Dart one...
Squeaky bum time drilling tile 🤦♂️
Mitigated by this excellent tutorial! 😉
Why not stub out a nipple and let the tile setter cut around it?
£ 80......I can get a full set for that....🤑
How to drill tiles.... use a tile bit. DOH!
Exactly!

Let's do it roughly in the middle using a tape measure to the nearest billionth of a mm...
Lay out is wrong cant believe pro did it🤮
