People are being incredibly rude and lazy in the comments today. I'm sorry about that Lisa. Here you make a great video, explain everything within the video (including how to use freeze dried eggs, why you're preserving them and other ways you have done so, and the information for the exact model in the video description) and still people can't listen to the whole thing or do one click to find out the answer? Struggle. Maybe the saddest part is so many thinking you should be giving away your eggs when you have to pay a huge amount for feed and bedding and then go many months in the winter with no eggs at all. Thanks again for posting!! Always love your videos. Glad your family could get a freeze dryer for all your hard work! 🙏❤️
I do not have a freeze dryer. For those who are asking about freezing eggs... I made a cake yesterday and used eggs from the freezer. They were store bought eggs and were frozen from last year. The cake was fine. I have also scrambled them and had no issues. I use silicone muffin pans and put one egg to a muffin and add 1/8 tsp salt per egg to help with the egg's texture. After they have frozen, I place individual bags and then vacuum seal before freezing in bulk. I am sure the freeze dried work beautifully but for those who do not have a freeze dryer, just want you to know my frozen ones have turned out fine. You will have to beat them some to get the texture smoothed out. My kitchen aid mixer did fine when making the cake....no clumps or lumps!
@@CEL403 I have seen this done but never heard outcome. I just got a vacuum sealer to attempt this. Any reason I couldn't put 4 or 6 eggs per bag too? Or would that not be a good idea?
@@vickimontgomery5271 I think you can put any amount you wish. I would just keep it near an amount for easy usage. (Ex. A cake mix requires 3 eggs) I do put mine in ziplock sandwich bags and then drop into the vac seal bags. That way you can take out the eggs ..say..for a cake. If I am in a hurry I can drop that bag in a bowl of water for quick thaw. I like to wash and reuse vac bags. However, if that bag has had eggs or raw meat, I would never reuse. Experiment and do what works for you. If you have never had a vacuum sealer, you will be amazed at the freshness you obtain for meat as well as the eggs and other items. I have used one for years. Money well spent. Happy homemaking!! 😊

Lisa, I cannot tell you how much I’m enjoying your channel, and the videos that I am steadily going back and watching. My children are grown now, and I am a grandmother. But when my babies were little, I nursed and when they stated eating, I made their baby food from the veggies I grew. I have always cooked everything from scratch . I gardened, canned what we didn’t eat fresh & got fresh eggs from my chickens . I was proud to be “old fashioned” (as my friends called me) mother and homemaker ,but I pale in comparison to you ! You are amazing & I admire you greatly.
I have been absolutely BINGE watching your videos. I have my sour dough starter on my worktop, on day 3 and working out brilliantly thankfully! Big hello from Ireland, you're wonderwoman Lisa 😊
Lisa, it’s 9pm and I was in bed. I got up and just had to organize my freezer storage that was piling up haha my husband thought I was crazy and I told him you inspired this second wind. 😅
I love watching dehydrated foods being made. I would love having one . I think it would be fun preserving all the things from the garden and finding good sale items to preserve for the future. Nothing better than a fresh clean refrigerator and pantry. Loved watching.
I always am waiting for the lady at church to bring me some. We do not seem to have an abundance around here where i live like Lisa does. 23 dozen in the house. I would take 3 dozen right now lol
I'm excited for you to have the freeze dryer. I watch Jessica from Three Rivers Homestead and nothing goes to waste with all of the preservation methods you employ. Good job you!
She says right in the video this still won't be enough to take her family through the whole year. Chickens stop laying for quite awhile and she uses tons of eggs and has a family of 9.

My mother use to make pickled eggs, they were delicious. She also added beets to the jar, they also were delicious. Pickled eggs will last longer, not sure how much.
I have also been freeze drying raw milk. My kids always want that junk powdered stuff from the stores in the winter. And I figured I might try to make our own mix with my own dried milk.

When you dehydrate or freeze dry you need to use food grade gloves when you handle the finished product. The oils in your hands can effect the food and possibly spoil it.

Freeze drying food is something I’m so interested in. Thanks for showing how you’ve been using yours. We have a dehydrator that we haven’t set up to use yet.
