So this video is going up today instead of over a week from now because Dior launched early. I don't know why. The new formula is talc free and has cornflower extract. The old quints are disappearing fast! so i released the video early. Some retailers still have very limited stock of the old formula. I tried to list all of them on my ShopMy page. I am frustrated 😢why do they do this at the same time as discontinuing parfums!? The Privee line is insanely (over)priced as is and now we have go hunting quints down too. I doubt everyone has money lying around like that 🙄 what I hear about the formula change.... Often talc free formulas are more dusty and less pigmented, don't last as long.

I just bought 2 quints that I wanted in the old formulation
I’m only picking up the ONE quint I’ve seen that I don’t have. I’m not replacing all my old makeup. A little talc on my eyelids is not going to make me sick. Throwing away all my money on these reformulations will. I think Red Tartan was made for the Velvet, not the matte collection.
it's not talc...they have reformulated the quints and now have cornflower extract and yes, when i said the "matte" collection I was referring to the velvet.
I saw a video from a creator in Europe (Sonia Butler) who got the new formula quint from Sephora France. She bought one she didn’t already have so she couldn’t compare them directly. The satin/matte in the new quint was patchy. She said all of the new quints were now talc free. It makes sense as Dior has been reformulating their foundations to be “clean”. Ugh.
I am nervous about this change. Dior eyeshadow lasts all day on my hooded eyes with no need for a primer. I hope this new formula does the same, with the same awesome and elegant finish. I have been contempating Grand Ball in a general way, but I am still trying to see if I can actually squeeze Eden Roc in my budget, so I will have to wait and see if the new formula is good for that one. I wasn’t a big fan of Dior eyeshadow before the reformulated because I had found them hot or miss for me but once the did a few years back I fell in love and have so many. Im definitely or going to buy shadows I already have but am curious about what the new formula will be like. Thank you for this information
I just looked on our Australian Dior Online Store and seven from the fourteen Quints have Sold Out and they are usually always available. They are going fast. I've been more interested in the Limited Editions and had been concentrating more on those than the regular shades. There is one Quint in Demin that I've wanted and picked it up from a retail store due to it being Sold Out at Dior Online. I'm curious as to the formula Red Tartan is going to be, as that came out in the L/E Velvet Quints released last year. I've already purchased all of the Backstage Eye Palettes, so there's no concern there for me, except more to collect with new palettes coming out. Thanks Jen for the heads up and my Denim is confirmed. I just hope they don't change the shades when re-formulating, what's the point? I'm quite sure that with all their experience, they can change the formula and make it cleaner without fooling around with the shades we've loved. I just thought that I'd better be safe than sorry. Because of sheer panic upon learning about the quint reformulation a few days ago and then seeing almost all the quints literally vanish from Sephora's site, I DID order the Plum Tulle 5 Couleur from Macy's Monday night. And, let me tell you, I am so glad that I did! My only other quint is Tutu, and I had always wanted both. Blue-green eyes thing, I guess. Plus, I have a strong weakness for all things purple/plum/mauve. 💜

I'd love to know how it is. I just ordered Jungle as I had been eyeing that quint for the past year and a half, but bought 7 other Dior quints instead...

There is a huge push towards clean beauty, so it’s understandable that Dior is going to this. But like you say, it’s hard to know what will happen to their formula. The palettes you already own are all stunning, so I can understand your concern about what will happen with the new ones.

Hi Jennifer: Thank you for the explanation and summarizing what’s new (though not in Canada yet). FYI: pied de poule (foot of hen) is houndstooth in English (the quint does not remind me of houndstooth nor of hen’s feet). I hope the new formula is as good as the existing one. Thanks again!

Thanks to YT, I'm watching this very important vid a day AFTER it was posted. If I can't get my hands on the Pied de Poule palette, I'm not going to be happy at all ☹️
Time will tell if the formulas have changed negatively - I really hope not. Unlike the TF quads, I could always rely on the Dior quints to provide 5 clearly different shadows in their palettes and the formulas were extremely reliable.

I wouldn’t mind if by “clean,” dior blushes were less fragrant. Probably an unpopular opinion. I bought plum tulle & another single of beige mitzah, just in case. Who know what they’ll “improve” next!

Hi Jennifer. I was planning to buy 499 and 899 during this week, but they are no longer available. I was looking for the items where are still available. I could find them. Some retail stores still have old eyeshadow palettes, but they don't have 499 and 899. I am so disappointed. I may look for them at Mercari or I would buy 1 or 2 from new one. Thank you for information about new palette.
Saw my SA, who swears that the mascara hasn't changed formulas, only packaging. But, no green. Pretty green coming in eyeliner, reportedly. She had the new formula in some shades and says that they are more velvety and 'stick' better. Will wait for review on that as I really like the current/now old formula (of which there were plenty in stock).
The green mascara is on the Dior site. I bought the black to see if it’s the same 🤞🏻

I’m a little confused over the plum tutu/rose tulle quints. Are those new or is it renamed? There was a palette called soft petals and I’m wondering g if it was renamed as Rose Tulle? Is plum tutu different than plum tulle? Thanks for explaining it but honestly, Dior could have done better at explaining this debacle..
Technically all of them will be new. Even the quints with the same names and numbers will be a new formula.
Plum Tutu and Rose Tulle do not exist right now in the "old" formula but they look to be a mashup of existing quints.
Soft petals did exist in the old formula. its possible the shades are similar to this "new" Rose Tulle. We'll see.

I hope no one replaces their perfectly good palettes with a new formula. What a colossal waste. I am against clean beauty if it means poor preservatives and fear mongering. I’ll use clean brands that are effective, use effective preservatives and don’t fear monger. Brands like Dior are under pressure to succumb to the fear of perfectly safe ingredients that these clean brands have created. That’s partly why your favorite formulas are changing. Other causes are likely supply chain problems and the worldwide inflation that are ongoing vestiges of the pandemic. I’m not buying much Dior now so it’s a big shrug for me if they reformulated. I have their giant bottle of my favorite private label perfume that will last years. By the time it’s gone, I will have found at least one or 2 new favorites.
I bought a new bottle of Dune recently to stash until I need it because that too is being discontinued. 😢 I'm only about 1/4 through my current 100 ml bottle, but couldn't bear the thought of never being able to get another bottle. Dior, why oh why are you doing this to us?! 😢
