I think his position as one of the Night Seats of Arrako pretty much confirms that No, he isn't. but like, raw power is only half the fight. Roberto gets to beat Omega level mutants because he's smart/resourceful, not because of his power alone. Sunspot is a mutant whose cells have the ability to absorb solar energy and convert it for use as physical strength. He is also able to create thermal updrafts for flight, project heat and light, and create concussive blasts of solar energy. Sunspot's cells absorb solar energy which he can metabolize and store for various purposes, including superhuman strength (lifting 50 tons) and endurance. Weaknesses. M-Pox: Suffering under the effects of the mutant-killing Terrigen Cloud, Sunspot suffers from chronic coughing fits as a sign of the M-Pox. An original New Mutant and a determined Avenger, Roberto Da Costa, AKA Sunspot, has defended mutantkind and humanity with his remarkable solar powers. A personal superhuman sun, Roberto can convert solar energy for durability and strength, plus project thermal heat to emit concussive blasts or even fly After battling Ahab and his Sentinels, the Cyclops and Marvel Girl of Earth-616 (and possibly the X-Factorians Iceman, Beast, and Archangel; the X-Men Forge and Banshee; and the New Mutants Cable, Sunspot, Warlock, Boom-Boom, and Cannonball) were stated to be "First Level Mutants" by the Franklin Richards. Sunspot is one of my favorite X-Men members
When I saw the live-action Days of Future past I did not know sunspot but I sure thought that did not look like fire being projected from the fyrish guy.. when I realized from the 97 animated series that it is sunspot and that he literally is part of the Sun that should probably be the most powerful mutant as nothing can handle the solar radiation except for of course the magnetic field with this guy should be a superpower house
So he can absorb Sentry's power source?!? And be impervious to physical damage?! How far can he improve his speed & strength with his power set? How long & what power source would he need to be on par with Superman?
Definitely under used but not surprised. Sunspot is a powerhouse and a great character.
My favorite mutant next to Scott and Logan
he is indeed underrated i love this is sunspot so much
When he learns to controls his powers in X-men 97 he’s gonna be a problem
Why?
@@wisconsinking323because he's strong as hell
It was anti Blk hate not anti mutant hate that was the result of his powers manifesting. It’s all in New Mutants Graphic Novel #1 in 1982 geez!!!
Yeah, since they switched it to anti mutant the character has become a fair skinned Latino as well
@jaybeeeasy TRUE!

Underrated mutant for sure!
Imagine he stays in the sun 1000-10000 years like super one million.
Love the power set, character, not so much

He is a solar battery

Idc what anyone says. Sunspot will always be Afro Latino in my eyes.
@unseenentity1908 AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sunspot vs Human Torch who would win?!
@Xerxes069 If solar based, shouldn't Sunspot win since he won't get tired? Johnny can turn himself on fire but he's not solar based!
Johnny Storm at home:
So are we gonna get sunspot Cannonball or shatter star should follow , no???
1000 suns is really someone lying
👉👉👉👉👉
He flys like a super balloon
Sunfire pirate copy
They have fairly different powers tho?
