I enjoy the beauty of the women, but I also learn new things when I watch. I noticed one diver just walked quickly up to the edge of the platform and dove off and did a few summersaults in the air. It seemed like a fairly simple dive compared to many other divers who stood at the end of the platform preparing for the dive and then dove from that point with twists and summersaults incorporated into their dive which seemed like a much more challenging dive. Are the divers that run or walk fast up to the edge of the platform and dive all in one kind of motion, actually completing a much bigger challenge than I'm aware of because they are running up to the edge of the platform?

I became interested in diving since the last Olympics when 2 girls from China, Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan, performed a lot better than Chen Ruolin and Si Yajie in this 2013 competition. Quan and Chen Yuxi barely made splashes in last year's Olympics. I am not sure that is how we judge a good dive or not.
