I came to Japan 10 years ago first living in the Kyoto countryside. I'm still in Japan but not in Kyoto. The one thing I learned being here, there is Tokyo and there is the rest of Japan. I love Tokyo! I love Shinjuku (Kabuchiko regular) but I'm wandering to other places. My job just keep me in the countryside and I just have to settle with frequent Tokyo visits. Awesome video! Keep up the good work. ありがとうございました!
Hey that's SPOT ON! I've been everywhere in Japan now, and yeah you're right, things in Tokyo are just different! Lot of foreigners for sure, might be one cause of it. But hey, this is still miles ahead of US cities where I grew up haha - so it all feels like Japan to me!
This is the tip of the ice burg. Note this is in Shinjuku which is one of the 23 wards. Tokyo is a megacity and we often joke "There is the country of Japan and there is the country of Tokyo." This is a great video.
Honestly after seeing Hashimoto in Ali's video, I thought he could fight much better. Regardless of age, his technique and defence was very sloppy, even worst than an amateur boxer. I expected a tighter guard and more refined combinations but he looked like some typical street fighter with not much exp. He couldn't even disengage from the other guy clinching and throwing knees at him, instead he was punching (bad rookie mistake, you'll take a knee to the face and get KO'ed by a proper fighter). This just goes to show that just because you're an ex yakuza boss doesn't mean you can fight necessarily. Sure, he may have won street fights against lesser opponents, but seeing the level of "fighters" today, it is apparent none of them have proper training. I know it's an "underground" fight so you won't see "trained" fighters here with solid technique but still, with that amount of training readily available nowadays I thought I would see a higher level. At least try a submission when on the ground? LOL. Same with the other japanese street fighters in the ring series by another japanese channel, all "fierce" with bodysuits and screaming gangsta shit but not even knowing how to bob & weave to evade a punch. The ones that know how to fight, obviously are walking amongst us in silence and not being "loud". Just my observation. The other guy also is not in his 30s, just look at his necklines, probably late 40s, early 50s. I do appreciate you going down to film this though, so thanks for that.
Hey Mike! Appreciate the long thought out comment! Unfortunately I'd have to agree, but I'd imagine he was a lot stronger in his prime. Man is 47 now to be fair, and spent 8 years in prison where I doubt he got much boxing practice haha. Also yeah, maybe the opponent was older as well, but he definitely looked like he had 30lbs on Mr. Hashimoto! Anyway appreciate the thoughts! Don't disagree haha!
@@OSTemli LOL. Tell me you don't train martial arts without telling me you don't train martial arts. I don't watch any kungfu movies because they're f**kin stupid. It's also because I've trained Muay Thai for half my life and I'm hardcore mma fan for close to 2 decades. If you truly trained you would know how to spot these things, regardless of age, any "boxer" worth their salt would be able to have a decent guard.
@@OSTemli I train mma regularly and watch different combat sports like sambo, mma etc. and I noticed too, that his technique wasn't proper and fight IQ was low. He may have won a couple street fights, but would be damned against someone with proper technique. As you get older you will indeed slow down, the degradation at 47 is noticeable, but would still be able to fight well. My father for example is 55, he trained Japanese Jiu-Jitsu for about 1 and a half decade and he would still be a formidable opponent. Obviously he has less stamina and is a little bit slower, but he fights really well from muscle memory. If you would train combat sports, even for a short period of time, you would understand it. Props to Hashimoto tho, because he got in the octagon at 47 against a younger and seemingly heavier opponent.
amateurs boxing but not bad is like mma i was practicing Shotokan karate in age of four years old also muay thai in age of 16 years old and boxing until now i was fight in street fight in gangs fights that was golden time in my prime , respect my friends
Me watching: "these guys clearly don't know how to fight" Me fighting: ...doing exactly the same thing 😂😂😂

Underground fight or Privated open fights whatever they are there'll be rumble outside the cage. Yesterday in Betonamu, at Hanoi a Kickbox fight finished and just almost broke it out, things when smoothed since the injured fighter's gym backed it. People would hate this, but after all it's all fun, and game lol (i really don't support it, yesterday traumatized me asf I lost the boxing fight)
I’m late…! But better late than never right?! 👀 This was wild! That one guy who was a SPECTATOR and fought 😅 the fight breaking out because of yo mama lol. That person thinking that you were cool - I mean, it was all going on! Great video and editing as always, Richard 😌
This is why people should stay outta gangs because one you gonna get beaten up shot up etc etc. - Remember don't be apart of a Gang It's up to y'all folks - Stay bless everyone and have a good day or night ❤️
I've seen 20 videos about yakuza bosses and they were all different people. Either they change the bosses every month, or every area in Japan has its own boss, or they're lying to us. 😂
Underground fights are not held in places like that, and they are not on UA-cam. Just stop the over hyped click bait nonsense. You mean amateur, not under ground.
Underground was the word my ex Yakuza friend said. He's famous, you can look him up wherever you want on YT. And yes, you can't just go to this event, you had to get invited, pretty underground if you ask me
@@Broke-But-Rich I would agree that it is an amateur event but it's semantics. There's nothing illegal going on here. It's just not a pro fight event, clearly.
Amazing video! Those fighters were terrible though. Genuinely surprised that no one there had any skill whatsoever. Even a low tier mma organisation has better fights.
@Broke-But-Rich Regardless of the fights what an Incredible venue! What an experience! I love the respect shown in Japanese culture especially with fighting. Like a step back in time 10 years.
i think alot of them are forced to fight because of debt.....thats the most asian reason lol the other is that the ones with the full body tats are boss's who wanna show off...idk but those ring girls are hot.
The first 10 or so fights were all 'amateur' fights - notice their age haha. But the fighters later on were a little more refined. Brawling isn't too far off though

We got real life Kengan fights before GTA 6
@@PhilipId i was looking for this, its a shame no one else knows about it
It’s just Purgatory matches unless it’s to the death 😂
