Spot on reaction. As an American abroad, it's a revelation to see my country finally falling in love with the beautiful game and its GOAT. You explained everything at a level that I haven't yet seen from any journalist or commentator. You get it. Keep it coming. Your perspective is valuable. 🐐🏆🏝️
What are you smoking 🧐 from what I recall Messi shouldn't have 2 of his balon dors & if he wins this upcoming one it's bull shit once again cause it goes to halland cause he's the best player.
Trust me messi is either all in for a team or all out. He’s a loyal player, he offered to cut half his salary when he’s at his peak in the market just to stay in Barcelona. He gave his salary away to pay for employees when covid hit Argentina football federation hard. And so far I think Messi is all in in intermiami. Treat him well over there pls for us😊
By the way really amazing analysis at the end , I think you are completely right . I’d even go say that in the Latin American culture , your football team is your religion . You live and die for your colours . I think Messi is bringing that with him to MLS .
Very good video, great reaction. My first US football (soccer) match I've ever watched was the Messi debut with Inter Miami, tomorrow Inter Miami is going to play against Sporting KC and I want to watch it even without Messi, just got hooked with this campaign and how far the team can go. Sry for my english, greetins from Argentina
It is very nice to see that the public in the United States is beginning to be interested in soccer. I have always thought that when it becomes popular there, it will be very difficult to beat the American teams, just as it happens with the national basketball team. When they are passionate about something you can tell that they put their heart and soul into it. I'm glad that our GOAT is playing in the USA. Now I am a fan of Inter Miami and the MLS, something I would not have imagined a few months ago. Your channel is very good and I am already following it. (translated by Google, sorry if there are grammar or language errors)
Messi's Life Story is very entertainment like a movie... More the story with Argentina national team that was a failure story until the last 2 tournaments that transform in a victory story..👏👏👏👏👏
Great, honest, sensible and sensitive! I love that I can say that I witnessed your entry into the worldwide community of football. Welcome into the world, USA!
I think everyone loves Luke an appreciates how far he has come in such a short time. Football is everything. The beautiful game is our life. My team Manchester United Glazer family have ruined my club Depressing and heart breaking what they have done.
Messi makes the game beautiful, he doesnt necessarily do anything that is technically very difficult. But the precision and timing and decision making. Its like time moves slower for him.
As an Argentinian who has always struggled to understand (and, to be honest, disliked, to a certain extent) Americans' demeanor towards sports in general, I have to say that this video was extremely insightful. And btw, although being a very recent football fan, you have a very sharp eye to determine the difficulties and complexities this sport entails, and you seem to be learning about it at an impressive high pace. Great job, and looking forward to your next video.
You can’t really see what Messi is doing with the ball unless you zoom in and go slow motion. He is doing small touches 5 times more often than you think he is.
It's a great video. I'll tell you a story if you like them so much. It was 1988 and I was 13 years old. I became a Barcelona fan. A young boy, Leo Messi, joined the team. Today I am 48 years old. All my life I have been and will be a fan of Fc Barcelona and Messoho. Messi won the world cup last year. I watched the whole match at the end, I cried from happiness. Messi won the game called soccer. I didn't experience Maradona or Pele, but I experienced the best player of all time. Thank you Leo for all the years full of emotions of joy. No one will take this away from me. I experienced Messi. Greetings from Slovakia, from a small country in the middle of Europe
Messi turned the worst team in MLS into the best. Even if Miami doesn't make it to the eastern conference playoffs, their average results since Messi joined are very clearly going to be on top. It's just that the season has already been going on for a while before he joined so it's pretty damn hard to catch up from last place. They were at 5-3-14 before Messi joined and are now at 7-4-14 in the conference, on top of having a cup victory and an upcoming cup finals to bolster their confidence.
It’s been amazing watching your appreciation for the sport grow. You show a lot of respect and open mindedness ❤️. Would love you to talk more like the section where you described how it’s growing in the states. Found your points interesting to hear
In USA, Football interest already surpassed Hockey and I believe its catching up Baseball. Within 2026, it will catch up NBA. Because 3 major tournament will be held in USA in 3 years. 2024 Copa America, 2025 Club World cup, 2026 FIFA WC. And probably MLS will start bringing top legend and young players from next January transfer. So I believe its only 4-5 years to see football as one of the top interest of US.
I love you reaction and I truly hope more American and media would understand the beauty of football as much as you do. And hey, you are blessed enough to have the GOAT enjoy t while he still playing..
Good job Luke! I'm from Argentina, Rosario actually, where Messi was born and "futbol" is like a religion in my country. I'm glad the passion is getting into US
He was blazing quick, super fast and very strong. With a genius touch on the ball when he was 27. Now he is slow and have lost 40% of his strength. But the genius touch and the quickness are still enough to cook 80% of opponents😂. Plus the IQ is just off the roof
I love that you've experienced that Messi feeling with the Dallas game the inevitability of failure, I really envy Bayern Munich fans who can just place their faith in Muller whenever Messi came for them.
the usa should have a system like germany for their football matches because the prices for tickets is limited, they dont allow prices to just keep accelerating they cap it out at a certain amount. The uk also has £30 price caps on away tickets, although some matches can be insanely priced still.
I was at the stadium 2 weeks ago. Transport to and from, Standing Ticket, 4 beers = 36€ Our tickets work additionally as public transport ticket for the day in a "Bundesland" (state) radius so you can actually get to and from the game.
These ticket prices are bad but it's also good, the amount of money that gets pumped into these teams is insane. When Messi plays in their stadium these teams make over ten million dollars what is insane. With more money the MLS can pay the players more, gives people an incentive to join the league and will make the league better. I think it's a positive. The amount of young talent from South America that wants to join the MLS now is crazy. Money is everything and Messi brings it in. If the clubs use this momentum to buy good players the MLS can easily compete as a top 5 league cause of this
Honestly, its kinda late reaction for me since u posted this video about 4-5 days ago, but be grateful. You tuned in to this sport and Messis journey at the best time, winning his world cup, to crown his career, going to your country to revolutionize the sport there and show america this beautiful game, damn you are one lucky guy. Even tho you missed his prime you just joined to the greatest players journey at the most glorious stage. Enjoy every moment cuz it might only last for a couple years, and we may never see anything like him ever again.
Great video as always. I always love when you talk about south americans here in your channel lol I'm brazilian and even I can recognize Messi is to our generation what Pelé was to the XX century. I would suggest you to watch the highlights of the last Brazil x Bolivia. It was our first game under Diniz and his relationist style. I don't know if you ever watched the video made by the purist football, but for me it is the best explaining why relationism is so important to South American football. Have a nice day ❤
the most interesting thing about football is how it brings all people together. By example, world cup unites the people (at least in other countries) to the point that for a little moment, there is not puberty, or rich, only people enjoin the game and supporting the country, I just beautiful!
Messi has been doing this for a long time. He carried Argentina most of the time, he carried Barcelona for a time, now he has done a lot of things for Inter Miami and counting. Now here is the kicker. Messi is literally awakening the common man in the US about football/soccer. In a few years time it will be the World Cup again and it will be in North America. There is some sort of marketing strategy aside from sporting strategy aimed at cementing his legacy. He has been doing this a long time in the best arenas and tourneys of football. It is a shame the US is just a bit late in discovering and appreciating this man. I guess it is better late than never. But he will definitely retire as the GOAT. We will never see another one like him ever. I kid you not. Not in my lifetime at least. But I am glad to have seen him and experienced the joy him with his amazing dribbling, scoring goals, assists and all the drama with the El clasicos. All of these are priceless and timeless. Enjoy him while he is still playing for we would never see anyone come close to what he has done for football on and off the pitch. Muchas gracias La Pulga!!!
I think its just messi being messi period,he just scored a banger against equador and they are no push over by any means, they got worldclass players , messi does this everywhere.

The main issue has been that, because AF is so ingrained in the culture, everything is geared towards it, and rightly so. Unfortunately some have taken to belittling Football because its so different from AF. Scary to believe that Pele play in US in the 70s but didnt affect the culture like Messi has. Americans are finally seeing why Europeans are so in love with the game
It's worth saying that two other Barcelona legends are also playing there with him. And a former Barcelona coach. Ironic considering David Beckham was a Real Madrid galactico.
Football/Soccer has now been recognised as an exciting game and more continuous play time! Perhaps the IS sees why it's so big in the rest of the world
Messi got to bring his family to Miami which is a pretty amazing city if you have endless money. He's probably getting an American citizenship for himself and his family, his kids get to live and go to school in the U.S. He gets to live the dream and simultaneously breathe life into Football for Americans. His legacy is forever cemented as the greatest to ever do it. Meanwhile these other players are certainly making more money, but they're in the desert in Saudi Arabia. Who's the real winner?
Football Manager, while a great game, would likely cause the end of his marriage. For all I love that game, it has devoured too much of my life over the last 25 years...
If it's like you said football's taking over, and in like 10 years time USMNT are breaking into the Quarter Finals in the World Cup, it'd be like Messi not only created magic in Argentina, also in the US. How many athletes in history ever can literally single-handedly bring about changes to sports on international level in two countries? Wow
Messi in USA is similar to a space fairing civilization landing on a medieval earth. Or Spanish arriving with their huge ships to an Aztec world, where weapons are made out of sticks.
Soccer used to be the number one sport in the US in the 1930s and before. US even finished third place in the World Cup back then. It was the great depression that put us behind and saw the decline in popularity. We also need to stop commercializing youth sports in this country. The pay to play system in sports here needs to go!
I just truely hope ultimately this sport could not only match the other major attraction to entertainment of other sports, but could also one day generate lots of $$$ for the 'economically deprived' around the world!?! ...who also are missing out on participating as a 'spectator in these amazing events'!!! The great thing is, he is showing American athletes how it’s done - with honour and magnanimity…No mouthing off before a game or twerking on the field like Beyoncé after scoring.
