One major issue I think you're going to come up against is the fact that your cities aren't very walkable.
They're designed for cars, not people/pedestrians, and the public transport systems... well, you're American, you know.

It is the opposite actually. FIFA handles it for the WC. The US did for Copa America.
Now, I have no doubt the US is more than capable of doiing security for these events, but they didn't have the knowhow of how football fans are (and they disn't do their homework). They treated it as a normal large scale sporting event. I'm sure that as football becomes bigger in the US they will learn.

It’s conmebols fault for making the US look bad. Conmebol literally took shortcuts and one of those shortcuts was not putting good security. The better comparison might be the T20 World Cup and how, while the NYC games were well attended, everybody bitched about the playing surface. Most NFL artificial turf stadiums have been built since the 1994 WC and were designed with a view to be similarly used, and the field dimensions part isn't the problem, it's how soon after the NFL season can you lay the turf and have it more than just passably playable come June.

Luke the expected number of fans for your world cup is 5.5 million ,so this is the place i think the usa may fall down .now remember most of these are very passionate and mostly dont like each other much . they will have to provide separate fan parks at every venue ,all fans arrivivng at the stadiums will need to be kept separate before during and after the matches . the transportation will have to be seperated as well and if your police act in a heavy handed way they will be vilified around the world .

Which was BEFORE 9/11!!! Several friendly warnings before you finalize your plans. FIRST, our airport immigration & security are extremely unfriendly to everyone - citizen and visitor alike. Be prepared for rough treatment compared to any travel you have had in Europe. SECOND, if you are traveling between cities expect numerous delays, cancelled flights at the last moment, and many other travel disruptions. Except in the northeast part of the USA train travel is not recommended since it is NOT up to European standards. Bus travel would be a disaster for you. THIRD, there is little to no transit between the airport and your hotel or between your hotel and the stadium, or frankly most places. Be prepared to take a taxi, uber, or rent a vehicle. FOURTH, except for a very few locations, you cannot walk from your hotel to anywhere. Distances are very great between any two spots and you may not know a good location from one you should avoid.

The American Football authority needs to review the Copa America tournament, respond and recognize the enormity of the F.I.F.A. World Cup Finals.

The actual match/stadium stuff aside, I’m more interested in seeing how the US specifically can handle European culture and rivalries.
Canada and Mexico I think can handle this well as they are far more exposed/similar to European culture than the US are.
As an Englishman/Brit, I’m extremely confident that imma see some news headlines regarding Brits (and other Europeans) being arrested for things that are yes frowned upon in other countries but are let go elsewhere, such as being drunk and/or having big marches chanting with almost every slur you can think.
I can see US officers trying to control it and it all getting out of hand.

I think FIFA will ensure it will be fine at the stadiums, probably rub the local government and police up the wrong way with some of their choices/demands. It's away from the stadiums and whether thenhost cities will appreciate what is needed from them in respect of things like Fan Zones and the way they police the masses arresting people for jaywalking or having open alcohol containers could easily spark trouble. Then there's the issue of fans and even teams/team members actually getting into the country if the promised/threatened hostile environment for none citizens is adopted.

  • @belt3rmedia

I'm not overly concerned about the Stadiums, Hotels, Airports, and Security in the USA in 2026, the USA has shown for many years that they can handle massive international events (WC '94, Summer Olympics '96, F1, Super Bowls, etc.). The biggest task is going to be game-day transportation. Take the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for example. Aside from the city of Arlington (site of AT&T Stadium), the majority of hotels are located in Downtown Dallas, Addison, Plano, Frisco, and Fort Worth. Organizing game-day transportation for all of the fans coming from these areas is going to be a logistical nightmare (even fans without tickets make the trek to the stadiums on match days). We're talking about up to a 40 mile (64km) radius of the Stadium! Its going to have to be a combination of light rail, car pool, Uber/Lyft, and hundreds of buses, as there is no subway system in place. Keep in mind that this will occur 9 times over the course of 3.5 weeks! I have little doubt that the Organizing Committees have enough time to figure out a way to handle the transportation issues but it remains a big question mark for this World Cup.

dont be supprised if fifa demand 1 or 2 lanes for anything to do with the tournement such as trasport for fans/officials. if theres 1/2 lanes banned for normal people during the worldcup this fan transfers can easily be done. this is also what happend during the wc94 but in a smaller way. and this would directly come with another problem for the worldcup, the local ppl will not be happy if 2 highway lanes are unavaible for there daily bussniss.

Once you receive the ball there is someone on you within half a second. I didn’t feel that way during any copa America games. Maybe there is different sizes in an official tournament vs a mls league game.. … idk but it was really bad. Not enjoyable to watch. In generall a club not doing good, in the bottem off the league plays on as small as a field as possible and dont cut the grass a couple days before the match. when better clubs who like to pass alot prefer a pitch as big as possible with very short grass because this will be harder to defend on a big pitch. smallest as possible football pitches will be great for teams who will not progress in a tournament and play very defensive football. smaller spaces means it will be harder for the attacking team to find a opening, aka it benefits very passive and defensive plays which in general are very boring to watch. if this were the case during the worldcup i can see alot off americans be inpation and negative bc there will be even less goals than cusual for a football match (when americans are used to high scoring sports)

From a Canadian. Canadian stadiums, In Toronto and Vancouver, are bigger because the Canadian Football League dimensions are larger than the NFL. "110 yards (101 m) long and 65 yards (59 m) wide." Toronto is Eastern Time, I'm sure you're aware that Vancouverr is Pacific time. :D
I don't know what the dimensions are in Mexico, but since they've hosted two World Cups in the last century, I'd be shocked if they're smaller than NFL Stadiums.
In 2010, the Democrats, Bill Clinton showed up to help Barak Obama, tried to win the 2022 World Cup alone, it didn't happen. That might have played into the United bid supported by President Trump for 2026, their bid beat Morocco, who's part of the six nations 2030 hosts, England had David Beckham that same year trying to help their bid for 2018, and they lost to Russia.
All of this talk is very funny, as Canada hosted the women's World Cup, and Fifa seemed uninterested in complaints by the players why the requirements for the stadiums aren't up to the men's World Cup. This was before this new group running Fifa was in charge, as there were some ethical questions. 🤣
I live in Calgary Canada. If I want attend a World Cup match, or two or three, I've got to fly to Vancouver or Toronto.
That's more expensive that an eight hour drive to Vancouver which is closer.
I could leave before the first Vancouver World Cup match, (no Canada Team), and then the next two matches flying back two weeks later, after watching Canada's second and third match.
Why would I do this? This could be the only time I could watch a match in my country in my lifetime. Mexico 3, USA 2, Canada...? 1/3, 1/2?

Year after year, during the summer ☀️, airline companies continue to fail customers with over bookings, cancelation, and just horrible service. The United States is too reliant on air travel. Hello from the State of Schleswig-Holstein, the Northernmost state, inside the united Federal Republic of Germany!
In 1994, Germany played in Chicago, which is basically the biggest Polish city, outside of the Third Polish Republic!
Germany played its matches in the, so called, "Soldier Field" stadium!
This combination is still very embassering to me!
In the quarter final round, Germany had a lead of 1:0 versus Bulgaria.
Then the Balkan players won 2:1!
    1990: FRG - Argentina; 1:0; final ~ 3 monthes before German´s reunification!
    1992: Germany - Denmark; 0:2; final

USA Trains are on the same level as many Third World nations. If you are traveling by airline between cities expect numerous delays, cancelled flights at the last moment, and many other travel disruptions. Except in the northeast part of the USA train travel is not recommended since it is NOT up to European standards. Bus travel would be a disaster for you.
