That's strange you have to call ground to tell them you are shutting down. Any reason for that?

Thanks for watching! Apron 2 is away from sight of the tower, hence we need to report shutting down in order for our flight plan to be officially closed (LCLK ATZ is Class B airspace). We need to request startup as well, prior to every flight. Big hassle operating out of international airports, that's why I did my training in the UK!
