I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and UA-camr who's been to 61 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017.
I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This marked the start of my efforts to turn vlogging into a full-time job.
After that European trip I explored much of Asia: visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan.
I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.
I've travelled to North America just once as a UA-camr, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.
In 2022, I took my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting Kenya and Tanzania, before heading to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus, and afterwards going back to Italy for the second time to cover Milan and Sicily. I then visited the Caribbean for the first time, covering the Dominican Republic, before heading to both Brussels and Amsterdam, then covering Taiwan and the Philippines in Asia. I finished off the year with a trip around Morocco.
I started my travels in 2023 by finally visiting Paris, taking the Eurostar from London. I then headed over to Qatar for a few days, before heading to Asia, with videos following from India, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Mongolia and Thailand.

Dvaravati empire is the first empire of Siam (Thailand) like 2,000-3,000 years old. Si Thep is part of it and was recently announced as World Heritage by UNESCO. It's more than 1,700 years old. UNESCO also claimed Si Thep School of Art has influenced other civilizations in South East Asia including Angkor Wat. Si Thep ancient city is located in Petchaboon not far from Sukhothai.
Si Thep is a Mon Khmer city.
@@SirNova2o9no mention of "Khmer" in UNESCO website
@@PranadonNakaseths lol There no mention of Dravati King. Lmao. Only Khmer King name found there.
@@SuperDiasuke Sukhothai is Thai first independent kingdom. Stop lying. Lmao Independent from the great Khmer Empire. Dravati got nothing to do with Thai people. Is embarrassing. 🤣🤣
@@SirNova2o9Cambodia was a servant state all their history.
Walking alone in the place like that, with no tourists around, seems like a wonderful experience. So peaceful and coooosyy 🌿
sukhothai is a historical province, magical, charming and mysterious.
I'm so honored to be part of your journey, and my recomendation impressed you. // Fun fact: the trees in the ruins were planted to immitate the actual environment in the past. There're signs by the fine arts department of Thailand. If you scan with the application, you can see how the completed temple were like back then.
I’m honoured to have you with me! I had no idea about the trees - what a great idea to replant them.
I think you've just inspired another adventure for me, Jason. Never heard of this place but it looks magnificent! Safe travels
That’s great to know. I’m so impressed by Sukhothai, it was better than I could’ve imagined.
Hi Jason, thank you for visiting my beloved hometown. Sukhothai is a historical town with old charm and the nicest, friendliest people. Food are amazing and authentic. There are a lot of Sukhothai noodle menu sold in Bangkok but you need to have it in Sukhothai to know how good a simple noodle can be. We welcome all travels to our exotic town.
Looks like a perfect day to be touring. Such a beautiful country. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for dropping a comment!
Hi Jason, thanks for this brilliant vid. Was thinking of visiting another place when we go back home (Bkk) this year and your vid gave me a great idea! Sukhothai, it is! I went once when I was a school girl but can't remember what it's like and your info just gave me a really good image of the city. Will also try the hotel as it looks smashing. Came across your channel by chance and will find time to look at other cities. A tip in pronouncing some Thai words - 'ph' is pronounced like 'p' as in 'pen' or 'pan', so the word 'phra' is pronounced like 'pra' as in 'pram'. The same goes with 'th', we say 't' as in 'time' or two'. So the word 'thai' should be pronounced like 'tai' and 'thong' (meaning gold) should be said as 'tong' as in 'long'. Safe travels.
Excellent location. Very original. First I've seen this place.
Cool to know!
What a stunning view from the entrance!
Weather looked amazing with birds chirping, calm and serene atmosphere. ❤❤
Wow yes for sure what a beautiful serene and peaceful place Jason. I hope you are getting in on some meditation sessions for the peacefulness. Thanks for this video it was one of your many awsome prductions awesome.
I’m glad you liked it!
So good that you have everything there for yourself!
So fortunate to have been able to experience it alone in the early morning.
For sure - get up early and you’ll be rewarded.
Jason, what an amazing place to visit. I can’t thank you enough for your travel videos! I watch them all.
Sukhothai is the old capital 700 years ago. Ayutthaya Province at 400 years and Bangkok 230 years and on 27 November 2023 will have the most beautiful Loy Krathong Festival in Sukhothai.❤❤❤❤❤
ไปช่วงนี้ ใกล้วันลอยกระทงเลย อย่าลืมไปงานลอยกระทงนะครับ
Hi Jason,Love Love all of your videos. Thank you for share.
Happy to hear that!
thanks for taking us with you on your morning visit 🙂
Thanks for joining along.
I hope you'll be here to attend the Thai Loy Krathong festival in Sukhothai soon.
What an incredible place. Very interesting information.
Glad you liked it!
I am traveling to Thailand this coming November for four weeks and have Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai on my list. It's the only place on my list where I haven't solved the transportation issue. Will be in Chiang Rai before going to Sukhothai and don't want a LONG bus ride and there are no direct flights.
What a great day Jason. I haven't been to Sukhothai yet, only Ayuthaya.
I appreciate your style... good travels, im friends with British nationals... i was brought up by them... a foster kid... they taught me well, school teachers. Thank you.
I was there 15-may-1979
Nice place. The ruins look much the same.
Once again you have taken us most will never see in person. Thanks again John in Chicago
Happy to hear that.
Not many visitors that really are interested in historical place…you are one that is not included but real explorer Jason and this is why Chiangmai more fascinating 😅 however…thank you so much for appreciating our old capital.
you do the best vlogs. You are so informative.
Thanks John!
Love this video 👍💕thank you 🙏🇹🇭
So excited to visit my family there, been 5 years last time i went to visit, because of school:( love ur videos btw keep it go!
Very interesting!
Very interesting, and congratulations for seeking off the beaten path destinations
More to come!
Thailand Sangat Indah dan Bersih.
I've been to Sukohthai. 🇹🇭 It was amazing.
love from BANGLADESH MAN💥💥💖💖
Sukhothai was quite when I was there this time last year, Si Satchanalai Historical Park about 90ks from there was worth seeing as is Kampaeng Phet.
Love this channel.
Glad to hear it!
You probably had กาแฟโบราณ - pronounced gar fair boran. It means ancient coffee. It’s was my favourite also.
Mr steven gave you not only the exactly right pronunciation but also Thai word…oh 🎉 amazing
Nice place to visit literarily
what camera is your go to for a full size camera? obv some go pro use at times but i like your colors, also what lenses do you most often use?
This video was shot on the GoPro - but I also use a Canon M50 (for example the Mongolia series).
Man how I miss Thailand! Was there almost 10 years ago now 😭 I also really liked the temples at Sukhothai, however I wouldn't advice spending a lot more than one day there, since the town/city itself is rather boring imo.
You should go Kamphengpet Province too …there re other city with ancient ruins .
Thanks for the recommendation!
How well preserved the statues are being out of doors. The temples and the sounds of the birds must have been transcendent being the only person around! Do you know if the pillars held up a roof at one time?
It was incredibly peaceful. I’m sure the pillars did support the roof - a lot has probably been restored today.
The drink is called Ka-Fae-Yen! Thai ice coffee. 😊
Sukhothai's great. If you're still in Thailand then consider going to the northeast province of Burirum. There you'll find the ancient Khmer temples Prasat Phom Rung and it's sister temple of Muang Tum. Phnom Rung is gorgeous and is the closest you'll get to Angkor Wat in Thailand.
Srithep Castle, Phetchabun Province, 1,000 years old and Phimai Castle, 500 years old in Nakhon Ratchasima Province [Korat]❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome, thanks for the recommendations!
What a lovely place!
The room is elegant.Wat mahathat is well maintained.wat si is nice.
best part of the visit is that there are no other people!
Amazing That is like Ayuttaya.I hope youre visit Yipeng festival in Chiang Mai 26-28th NOV 🎉🎉🎉
สวัสดีค่ะคุณเจสัน 🙏💛🌼
I like your video. ❤🎉
It could all do with power washing.
Burma and thailand the pride of south east asia
I guess one of the most underrated places in Thailand is Lopburi, with same historical buildings and temples (and monkeys), the city is also easy to walk around and reach by train (just 2 hrs from Bangkok).
In the West we assume that the Black Death only happened there but thousands died in Thailand and was a major reason Sukhotahai as a City ended.
ขอบคุณมากค่ะ
The yellow bikes are failed experiment of rent-a-bike app in Bangkok a few years ago. The Chinese operator decided to cut loss and abandoned the project and the remaining bikes were sold cheaply to the Thai public. It seems this report bought quite a few. One thing about this bike is that it is sturdy built and should last for years or even decades if it is properly serviced. Simply oiling chains regularly and occasionally adjust chain's tension should be enough.
Interesting to hear.
🇹🇭♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🇹🇭
thai thai resort 25baht a night ????? i search online is more expensive are u sure your price!?
Sah kok theyaua is how khmer pronounce Sukohothai. It was a Khmer city before Thai took over.
Khmer in the former time they were slave in time of Sukothai & Ayuthaya till Ru ttanagosin(BKK)
Khom were not Khmer but they were the king family who ruled all of Khmer tribe and the other tribes in that time
'h' is silent in thai pronounciation so anything with diphthong 'th' is pronounced as 't'.
So much better to have the entire place to yourself
The Khmer people taught them how to write and dress.
Sukhothai is far more spectacular than Ayutthaya, I personally think.
You are wrong. Thai or Siam had never been colonized by Khmer but in contrast, Khmer was colonized by Siam for more than 200 years. Khmer is not the founder of Angkor Wat, but it's Khom, the genesis of Siam or Thai recently. You can get through deep details at the museum or just google it. Nowadays, Khmer misunderstand that they are the founder of everything because while they were colonizing, they derived all Siam cultures or traditions from Siam. Their ancestors who knew well about history were killed by their interior wars and the new generation just acknowledges that all Khmer cultures and traditions are their own. Presently, there still be a conflict in this history between Cambodia and Thailand but if you gather this issue, you will know that there is a lot of evidence revealed and pointed to Thailand. Khmer is just a slave of Siam. They cannot even do handcrafting or weaving. Thai dresses and all art handcrafts with them were imported from Thailand.
No. It's Ranong.
😘☸️🙏🙏🙏 Nano Buddha ☸️
It'd be "KHOM", not 'khmer'. From new history studying & many new evidences & DNA race test, it tended to be that Khom was Thai and had very least connection to Khmer or Cambodian.
Stop with the racism.
Your coverage is pretty shallow. You should read more books before traveling.
You are mistaken. This land never belonged to Cambodia. This is Sukhothai, ruled by Father Sri Inthrathit. The first founder of the Thai language There are many ancient Thai sites that are as old as Cambodia. It has always been the territory of Thailand.
LoL it used to be Khmer. There a Khmer temple there.
@@SirNova2o9Khmers were the foreign overlords for quite some time. The original settlers were Mon, the Tai tribes mixed with the Mon all throughout North and Central Thailand.
@@migspedition so what happen to all the Khmer that live there since the Funan, CHenla and the Angkor time? They just left? By the time the tai tribe came that place is already dominated by the Khmer. .
@@SirNova2o9 The Mons drove them away. After Funan came Dvaravati, Lavo, Haripunchai. The Mon kingdoms ruled the western half of Indochina until the Burmese and Tai tribes assimilated them into their newer, more powerful kingdoms.
Edit: Angkor was more or less like the Roman Empire. Various tribes and ethnicities were influenced by Khmer civilization. The Tai communities living in the peripheries adopted Khmer cultural traits until forming their own (with the help of opposing cultural influence from assimilated Mons).
@@migspedition The Mons' strong base is more in Myanmar and northern Thailand. The central had Mons and Khmer mixed since the Funan and Chenla. They never left. They mixed with new Tai tribe that came in later. The Mons never drove the Khmer away from the central Chao praya. It was still ruled by the Khmer royal bloodline. Even when they want their own independent kingdom.
