What is up mah Phunkadoodles?! Here's a follow up video about the Vox Pathfinder 10 and how well it handles guitar pedals. So I tested it out with my modest-esk pedalboard. What are some of your favourite guitar pedals?
Well, you just sold this amp to me :) I had the bass version years ago, and I loved it too, but this sounds amazing. By the way it's really hard to find a good and detailed demo, especially with pedals so keep it up!
Thanks Gregely! Appreciate the kind words! This amp has been a lifesaver for practice and teaching, highly recommend it if you are looking for a practice amp 😊
Waiting for my pathfinder to come in the mail. In demos, actually has that vox sound for a little toy solid state! Should do well for practice. Enjoy your playing! You don't sound like everyone else.
I’ve considered this amp to use in conjunction with my Marshall origin 5 for home recording. Seems like a usable solution. And oh, it’s basically free so that’s a plus!
I’d be very interested to hear your experience with this combo when you get around to trying it. I wonder if anyone would be able to tell the difference?
Awesome demo my friend I got sounds really good really nice and warm for a small amplifier. I recently downsize than an apartment setting now trying to find small gear to do the same job as bigger gear used to don't play out anymore don't need that anymore anyway it's just enjoy recording and making music back when I buy one if I buy one I'm buying two I like running a stereo rig
Hey John! Thanks for watching! Depending on your budget, you could look into iso cabs. I use a Jet City iso cab in combination with a Blackstar HT1 and it’s a great for recording (stay tuned for the video coming out this week)
I’m new to this. 2 years.. all the UA-cam videos produce such great sound! Is the sounds processed after the mic with the EQ in a DAW? Just such room filling sound.
I don’t believe I did any eq processing just so anyone watching could get a clear idea of what the amps sound like. The mic I used is a condenser mic and quite a bright sounding one.
I believe so, that’s a good question 🤔 I’m sure that if you spent some time tweaking the settings you could get it sounding really good. I might have to test this out 😄
Since the reverb & delay pedals should come in after the pre-amp/EQ in the signal chain, but there's no effects loop, should you turn off every pre-amp/EQ setting (gain, treble, bass) except for volume on the Pathfinder 10?
Hey @ottson! I would approach it as if you had a pedalboard with each individual pedal. If you had an amp with no fx loop everything would just run in front of the amp. So the amp eq would be shaping the overall sound. You would only run into issues if you wanted to use the amp's overdrive channel - in this instance you would be adding gain to your verbs and delays which could be unpleasant (or pleasant depending on ones personal taste). I hope this helps and answers the question!
Great tones! I've got this little amp and, in my experience, it's not that easy to make it sound good using od/dist pedals. You have to be very carefull with your eq since too much treble (one tend to eq this way to get the typical Vox chimy sound) can make it sound fizzy with those pedals. You did an excellent job!
Hey Antonio! Thanks for sharing your experience with this amp and for the kind words! Appreciate it! 🙏Definitely agree with what you said about the EQ settings! That’s why in the video I mentioned I wouldn’t mess with it cause I felt I found the sweet spot. To be honest though, I think I would only use a reverb pedal with this amp - the overdrive channel is more than enough for practicing.
Which looper are you using? I presume that if you have something like the TC Electronic’s Ditto, it should work well enough without the FX loop. If you want to capture the fx in your loop you can always just put it at the end of the pedalboard chain. Does that make any sense? 😅
@@BillyCrabbeMusic Yep, makes sense!. Would likely run a boss Looper through it. Anyway, came in the mail and I didn't have to even play it 1 minute to be able to tell it sound right, so I'm pleased.

For my opinion it's the one of the best demo of the unit on youtube, many thanks! Very nice feel and taste.
Excellent video man
It actually sounds great with overdrives! Nice and fluffy with some hair on top. Thanks for your review and tasteful playing, sir!
Awesome sound, the pedals seem to awaken the little amp. Great playing too!

Thank you mate! Can’t go wrong with a Strat! Yours sounds like a beaut!

Aw man! Appreciate the kind words! Exciting mate! Let me know your thoughts when you play through it 🤘
I really loved running a joyo american sound pedal into the front of this amp. I had one of these years ago; thinking about buying another...
In the words of Nike…”Just do it” 😅
Great tones out of that little fella!

@@BillyCrabbeMusic btw. If it works well with pedals, will it also work good with multi fx processors (ex. Valeton GP-100)?

is there a way to stack 2 of these amps ?
Do you mean like a daisy chain?

I suspect it will take my pedals well, though I still wonder how it would take a looper without having an fx loop. Any thoughts?
