I'm so thankful I didn't see that portion of the Opening, thanks be to God! How could they just blasphemed The One who is our Creator? May God enlighten those participants in that despicable act & am sure God will forgive them but they need to wait for Judgment Day! I never tuned in to the Olympics much as I wish the athletes best of luck!

I am French and I am sickened by how shocking some moments of the ceremony were. There was no public consultation on the content of the ceremony. All that rain on Paris for the opening ceremony was God’s tears on the whole spectacle! A bad omen. And I agree that the organisers would have never dared mocking Islam the way they do Christianity. Very coward and very sad!

The monsignor barked at my 14 year old daughter while she knelt to receive the Holy Eucharist because her AMEN was to soft. I told my upset daughter to pray for him. We need to pray for everyone 🙏

Fr. Mike, I am so grateful that you are not afraid to talk about world events and our faith in your sermons. I've heard you say things that will stay with me forever, giving me encouragement to go on. The evil we are seeing is tiresome, but just like the light of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart which was the only building in Paris to remain illuminated during the blackout, we have moments of joy and confirmation that keep us going. In faith.

I pray this prayer daily five times for the wounds of Jesus and then ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to please intercede for me with the Lord that I may repeat this prayer with every beat of my heart this day. Father, I praise God for you and your ministry. To give you a little background about myself. I was raised Catholic, and now simply consider myself a non-denominational Christian. As I watched, in despair, I went with great sadness..... as I listened to you this morning, I was brought to tears again. So hurt. So torn. So angry. How dare they/them. The nerve. They/them don't have a clue. Disgusting. They/them push their beliefs on me.....tears well up...... there is hate inside of me. They/them have ruined the the world........... It's important to note that Jesus was very angry when the money changers were in His Father's House. Jesus flipped over their tables. Sometimes righteous angry is appropriate. Jesus did what He needed to do. Blasphemous behavior is unacceptable whether we do it or someone else does. May God have mercy on us all!

God allowed this I believe so that WE PRAY for these people. Think about it, these people probably don’t have anyone praying for them. But now if we all join together and pray for them, they will be flooded with powerful prayer to convict their hearts, and maybe bring healing into their lives.
