Brother Anselm, O.P. invites us to be fully open to our own baptism by speaking about the significance of the baptism of Jesus. Let our ears hear that divine greeting: "You are my beloved son." Those are the words of a warm welcome. That is the same greeting for each of us because thru Jesus our baptism makes us adopted sons of God. Our baptism is a rebirth into the life of the Spirit, the family of God. And the name of Jesus' family is Christ-ian. We are now brothers to Jesus Christ. This new status of belonging to Jesus's divine family means that we belong to God. We have an entire lifetime to realize how real a spirit life is.
