Hi Mike. I had this working when you posted these videos. At the time I loaded MPLAB v8.87 and Hightech c. Been using that the whole time. I had to stop for a while and learn some atmel programming. My pc crashed a month ago. I lost all. I installed MPLAB again but can not find high-tech c. What do you recommend now? MPLABC version and what compiler?

Hey Kenneth, I am no C Programmer, all I learned was enough to get this going. Its really pretty easy if you interested in trying it, I put in this vid the complete programs to type in. No C here, Just got enough to do the job really.
    Thanks for the comments!

Kenneth, Looks like google is up to business again, there is not a reply button for me to reply to your comment here. I have not seen the power supply, but an PS will work really. You could even use a power cube, you know one of them black things that plug into the outlet for like clock radio's and stuff. Just make sure the "output" is DC Voltage, you want to have atleast 5 volts and maybe 500ma (.5a). I picked up the Digitrax Power Supply knowing that I will power alot of items later, its been great as a bench power supply.

I havent used a pre made ps, but, as long as the voltage and amps are up to par, I dont see any issues with it. You probably might want a regulated ps as well. look for Regulated 12v maybe?

Mike, you really know how to do a presentation, should have been a teacher. Anyway, I found you searching for programming of the 12f683 and you're by FAR the best I can find anywhere. I would like to email you but don't won't my email on Utube. Can I get it thru my companys FB page? which is Underground Circulators ( my son Daniel runs that) will notify him, if you can. If not I'll just ask away here. I'm not a model railroader but am into just about everything else. Pic's are my latest venture but proving to be challenging. Thanks, Joe (in Carolina)

Loftlurker, no worries, get a hold of me if you need to. I can say that I am working with a couple of people now and may have a way to only use one control line to dictate the time of day. right now, there are like 3-4 of them, you have seen them in the video. But, this really isnt a problem, you can use what is here, but if you want to follow along with the changes that I am making with 1.1, get your stuff, get familiar with the programming tools and the pickit, all that fun stuff and I will as soon as I possible can, put out something showing the modification to use a single control line. Stay in touch! I would really like to know your progress ok!
