  • This is a sanding station I put together for the video series on dpm model building. Its comprised of a few things:
    1 Flat board of some kind, smooth top, I used MDF board, its a little over an inch thick I think.
    2 400 grit sand paper
    4 120 grit sand paper
    5 Tacky Spray
    6 Rubber feet.
    Hope this helps, this is the single most useful tool for DPM models aside from something to square the edges, like I am using here the 1x2x3 blocks.
    The mitre box seen in this video is from X Acto

    now i do warhammer and like making terrain. some days i wonder how your doing and wonder why you stopped making videos. hope everything's alright.

      Hello Venrick, Hey, thanks for checking in and leaving a comment, much appreciated. I did enjoy making these video's, however real life gets in the way some times and just cant find the time to do these types of things right now, maybe in the future but just cant get it together enough to get them done again. I played WOW for a long time to, I know how it draws you in, you should though at least build one structure if you can to get a feel for it, its not for everybody. Thanks again for the comments!

      lol! Thats to funny, Always something to do on a model railroad, just seems we can work and work and work and then look back and see everything we missed. I have had a few of these in my modeling days and find them very useful, as long as its in arms reach, it gets used a lot. Send a picture when its done!

    Makes learning new techniques and tips fun to learn and try. It is only a true professional with a built-in desire to help others and share ideas, who can make even the complex so easy to understand.

    Mike I got hooked on your videos and noticed that it had been a while since you uploaded. I saw on Twitter that your son was doing well (which is awesome) and I'm sure that has taken up the majority of your time. I have two boys and understand that they are the priority! Anyway, hope you get a chance to get back to modeling soon, would love to see more videos!

      Sooner, thanks so much for checking in and letting me know your thoughts. Yes, its been a long time since I have made any new video's for the channel here, I am just not set up good enough to build models and create video's to. Maybe sometime in the future, I hope so, man, I really hope so. Skyler is doing so much better, cancer free now. He and his daughter (3 years old now) still live with us, so, I cant get much modeling stuff out with this terror running around. Sooner, glad you enjoy the video's and hope that I can get some more up in the future. Take care.

    • @BoomerKeith1
      @BoomerKeith1 7 років тому +1

      ModelerManMike Mike, thanks for taking a minute to reply! I completely understand and family comes first. I also know what it's like to have a 3 year old running around (I have two boys myself, one in his 20s and one a bit younger). No worries at all!
      Hopefully, you'll get some time to get back into the model making stuff again eventually. Your videos are awesome and having grown up in Oklahoma you remind me of so many folks I've known (at least your voice). Like I said, I've been really enjoying them and if you get a chance to come back and make more, I'll definitely watch them!
      Take care my friend!

      I can assure you, I am no expert. Its all a work in progress and your right, learning tips from others is the best way to get good at this stuff. I fight with stuff just like everyone else and always learning to. I wish I had more time and space to work on the railroad, I am building an RC plane now to fly this summer.
