I really love watching you two parent. You are both so sweet and that is going to transfer to Chell as she grows. She will feel that love forever. Love your lil fam!
it feels like everyone is now parents going on this adventure with you in the comments, yet here i am the guy who found your videos 10 years ago.... damn im 20 that means ive been watching your videos for half my life gg dude
You are right about there being a "scent" in the air when the season is about to change. Something about the termination dust, trees and cooler temps make it smell awesome.
GOOD JOB helping Chell to be an independent sleeper :) my son went to his own room at almost 5 months and I realized we both could've slept way better a lot sooner because we were waking each other up!
Awesome job! As a new momma with a 7 month old, I can honestly tell you that the sooner they're in their crib, the better! My son sleeps great in his crib now with his sound machine next to him, and we sleep a full 6-8hrs in our room next door. It's miraculous!
Hey Cory, Weather Forecaster here! The last 2 years have been El Nino years, meaning that temperatures are higher and precipitation totals are lower in your part of the world. The pattern changed in June from El Nino to La Nina, meaning that temperatures will be lower then average and precipitation will be higher then average in your area this year. So yes, you will likely have a couple good snows this winter.
Ooh, time to stock the pantry, cut the firewood and get ready to snuggle in for the kind of winter Cory has always wanted! This will be a good winter for Kristen to be on leave so she won't have to worry about driving to/from work everyday!
+KK Bing I'm not sure about flavor (though it wouldn't surprise me), but then I never did a side by side comparison, either. I always found the texture of Canadian bacon different from ham, though. I think it's a bit chewier, like chewy (pork belly) bacon.
Take it from a British nanny and mother, they can and usually do sleep though the night by 2mths. There are always exceptions to the rule and some nights they may not. If she is hungry she will wake and you will hear her. Plus the long sleep through the night is very important for her growth and well being. You will notice her more alert during the day. You are fantastic parents. Hope this helps.
Awww poor Cory you're so worried. you're such a great dad! i am really enjoying your videos with baby Chell and she is adorable! keep up the great work.
Yes!!! You broke the habit of cosleeping! That's awesome. Seriously my husband was the same as you! He was so paranoid, looking at the monitor like crazy. Lol. It was around 1/2-2 months our daughter started sleeping through the night. Like 8pm-5-6am. So grateful. And that lasted like 2 months then the dreaded 4 month sleep regression started. Do not give in!!! That's the best advice our pedi ever gave us. Around 4 months she started just waking up at like 1am, So we fed her, but we soon learned that was creating a bad habit. Our pedi pointing out. If she was sleeping through the night for this amount of time then she's totally fine. So at that regression I started giving her, her bink, and loved her and walked away. Within 2 days it was back to normal. And slept through the night ever since. You guys are AWESOME parents! I'm also a big pioneer woman cooker, I have her whole pot and pan set. Her cast iron is my life. Make a cooking channel, Kristen!!
2 things: 1. Kristin is right, Canadian Bacon IS Bacon and NOT ham! Canadian Bacon is taken from higher on the side of a pig, the US Bacon is taken from the side closest to the fattier stomach area. Ham is taken from the Butt/Leg. 2. From the time I was 6 days old I was sleeping through the night. Chell is just fine. The doctor told my Mom to wake me up and force feed me every 4 hours. That was very bad advice. It's part of the reason I struggle with Obesity. Children and animals (unless they are sick) will NOT starve themselves!!! :) Relax Cory!
My little guy went into his own room at 6 weeks - mostly because he kept wriggling around in his bassinet and would wake up screaming when he hit his head (it was an old school wicker one). He started sleeping through a week later, goes to bed at 8:30pm and wakes up at 6:30am or later (we get the odd night when he has baby-mares and wakes up in the middle of the night). He's now 7 months and he is such a good sleeper! I miss the newborn stage. Chill has such beautiful big eyes xx
I would not worry about Chell sleeping through the night at 2 months. One thing I learn with mine is that they will wake up when they are hungry. So don't stress, there will be other things to worry about later.
Sometimes when I think about it too hard I find it really hard to believe that Mr. Safety has a beautiful baby girl now. You guys are such great parents and I'm always sending all the love
Thanks for the fresh air all the way far from Alaska. It's been so hot here in South Korea. I love watching you guys and Chell growing. I have been depressed but the fresh air from Alaska helped me out sometimes. thanks
((((C & K))))) you guys are on the right trek with CHELL!!! You guys will get used to having her in her own room!! Babies also sleep that much esp when they are little because that is when they get the chance to grow physically :). Keep up the awesome work in all you do! XOXOXO
Some babies already died by sleeping alone because no one heard the baby starting to cough (pseudocroup) where in worst cases u have to become a tracheotomy.
They have a baby monitor, Chell's not that far away, she's already two months old, and with Cory being so worried, I'm sure they will pick up on it (or anything bad) if it happens. The current sleepwear that Chell has also seems to help because it seems rather heavy, so it'll be more difficult for Chell to abruptly roll around. (not that she's at that stage yet, but just to be safe) This way, she'll remain on her back while sleeping. As Cory mentioned in the video, it's important for babies to get used to their own bed - or else they'll have a hard time sleeping in it (as was the case with my nephew. It's something you really don't want.)
Cory it's ok. Take advantage of Chell sleeping through the night. You know she will let you know if she's hungry. This is normal and you are a worry wart lol. Love you guys so much! Thanks for sharing your lives with us!
watching you guys freaking over her sleeping through the night is sooo cute lol. when i moved my daughter to her crib she was 2 months old also and she started sleeping through the night from then till she moved to her toddler bed.
I hope she slept through the night! I know it is hard when there is change but this will be a great change! More sleep for everyone!! Loved the part when you were talking and then you were like "wait is she crying?" Hahaha Love you guys!✌️
I'd love it if you just did a series of ending with food products that end in -am. And my first thought when you asked why you're the one worried about Chell sleeping is you are the protector, so when you don't have those usual signals to say Chell's safe, you're put out of your element.
Wow! At 6:55 I have that EXACT same dutch oven pan. Also, what is that she's cooking? Looks like Tortellini noodles but, what's the sauce? Looks very hearty!
If she sleeps through the night that's okay. Try not to worry too much i know that's a difficult task for a super dad but Chell having a good few hours of uninterrupted sleep is perfectly fine and healthy :)
You guys are doing such a good job, don't worry about it! If a baby is hungry they will wake up for food, they eat when they need to, so if she is sleeping through the night make the most of it trust me!
I am so proud of you guys. You are learning that to be a good parent you sometimes have to do things that are hard to do. Never at night wake a sleeping baby, She will eat more when she wakes.
+DudeLikeHELLA I didn't see the bother about saying damn, but now the rotating outros are really growing on me! Something else in addition to Chell to get giddy over in the vlogs! :) love it!!!
I know it might be hard, but you guys are doing the right thing. I know she might seem really small to sleep on her own, but my sister ended up getting in the habit of letting her daughter sleep in bed with her for a long time, and now? She just turned 9 years old yesterday and has NEVER slept a night in her own bed. She also still has a pacifier because her parents don't know how to tell her no. ...Yikes. Love the vids as always!
+SwirlingSoul my best childhood friend sucked her thumb until age ten. When we had our first slumber party, one girl made fun of her. My friend was, and still is, a very stubborn person and told the brat making fun of her, sticks and stones might break my bones but I LIKE TO SUCK MY THUMB!!! No one else made a comment about her thumb sucking the rest of the night.
my youngest son slept with me till he was at least 7. but he was ways sick. so even if I put him in his own bed I would wake up to him in my bed. that went on till he was 10. from the time he was 1 to 10 he had 22 v.p. shunt revisions. now he is 18 and doing great.
Hey it's ok lol just go to sleep she will be fine. My granddaughter has been sleeping straight through the night since she was 6 weeks old. Consider yourself lucky! A sleeping baby is a beautiful sight.
In the UK we are told to keep our babies in our room with us till 6 months. I made the hard decision to put my little one in her own room at 5 months. Best decision ever. Everyone slept better, and she is a brilliant sleeper now :) She was also sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old for 11 hours straight. Your baby will tell you if she's hungry :) don't worry
lol I love those random words you put over the "damn" in your outtro, I usually burst out laughing, and with Kristen laughing in the background, it feels like we're all laughing heheh
Make sure the mattress and bedding are not too soft, its best that they are firm and that the crib does not have anything on the edges. These things can cause SIDS, which is super scary. You guys are amazing parents! Keep up the good work! I love you guys!
i am Canadian that is HAM! Chell is doing great so are you guys, being new parents is all about learning from each other and teaching each other (parent to parent and parents to child/infant visea versa
I don't mean this to be negative or bossy but, you should remove the quilt from underneath Chell that came with her bedding. She should only be laying on the sheet and mattress pad underneath the sheet if you have one. Even though it is tucked in under her it can still pose a suffocation risk. Babies should be laying on a tight fitted sheet with no puffy blankets or stuffed animals/pillows in bed with them. I know it seems silly to sell them with baby bedding sets but they are really just decoration for when the baby is that young. Maybe use the quilt on the floor when she is awake for tummy time and play to get use out of it. Look up the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for safe infant sleep. You guys are doing an awesome job with her! Oh I love rhubarb!
When she starts to roll, we'll change that but for now she can't roll, especially in her sleep suit. We totally understand and agree why it could be a problem though.
I DO NOT UNDER STAND WHY DOES THE BABY HAVE TO BE ON HIS/HER BACK??? When did it change, when to many having children were being born?? To get rid of us faster?? I am older the reason we put on tummy's was to in case milk came back up after we laid them down. So they do not choke on the milk. You do realize we have been lied to all of our lives. I am just asking for info do not get mad!!!! Has there been a study and who and why??
Susan Smith It's ok. My background is Early Childhood all through college I worked in childcare so your asking the right person. Anyway, the reason they want them on their back is because they fear babies suffocating by putting their face into the mattress or blanket when they don't have good head and neck control. But, I have a friend who's baby would have died if he wasn't on his side because he had RSV they didn't know yet and he was able to cough up and spit up mucus he would have not been able to on his back. So the moral of the story is you do what makes your baby comfortable but I would still recommend following safe sleep environment recommendations like no puffy blankets, tight fitted sheet, etc. Another interesting thing is we were always told to place them on their back. If the baby rolls onto their tummy and side it is ok because they moved themselves as long as we were watching them which you would be in a daycare setting. Which is what happened to my friends son he rolled over. I hope that helps.
I have some advice for u guys I hope u will appreciate. u should get a blackout curtain for chells bedroom and take everything blankets pillows stuffed animals etc. out of her crib, because God forbid they say babies can smother. I love watching your guys videos :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
I agree it's terrifying when they first sleep for a long time. I remember the first time both my sons sleep through the night about a good 10 hours. My eldest son was 11 days old when he first done it, he scared the living days lights out of me I woke up realised it was morning and he hadn't woke me up and he was just chilling out fast asleep. My youngest son was I think less than a week old when he decided to try and sleep from 8pm to 7am. I dream fed him as I was awake. Lol. You guys are doing such an incredible job tho honestly. You both should be so proud of yourselves. You created the most beautiful adorable girl ever.
I was showing my son one of your recent videos and he was so impressed that you named your daughter Chell! he's a huge Portal fan, too. Plus, when you can impress a 15 year old with anything to do with babies...you are definitely winning, LOL.
If Chell doesn't wake when you expect her to please don't wake her especially if she sleeps the night. My oldest son slept the night at 15 weeks, And I woke him to make sure he ate at a certain time, My pediatrician read me the riot act. If they sleep leave them alone, or they'll never get on a set sleep schedule. I know its hard but let things go and see what Chell does
It is good to get her sleeping in her own room. I didn't do this with my daughter and she still wants to sleep with mommy and she is 11. When they are young it is so much easier. Chell is such a beautiful little girl and you guys are doing great with her!
Lol awww... I remember when we moved our first born to her room at around 2 or 3 months old. I cried and had to check on her all throughout the night for about a week. I was so paranoid that she would spit up and choke or suddenly roll over or a bazillion other things. You'll get used to it though and will enjoy not being woken up by every little noise and movement Chell makes.
There is nothing that says that you have to put her in her own room. My mom co-slept with me until I was around three, and then I transitioned just fine into my own room. Separating your baby from you does not teach them how to be separate from you. If you let them stay close longer, it will better prepare them and make them more willing to be separate later. My mom also breastfed me until I was four, but I became a very independent child.
And did her and your father ever have intimacy during that time? Or did she ever go out and you needed to take a nap? The issue with cosleepers is they ONLY cosleep. And a lot of parents like to be independant as well, it's not always about the kid.
I had my daughter in my room for a long time. Intimacy isn't just for night time in the master bedroom. My daughter took naps in her own bed every day. Also, when she was just over a year old I went to a ladies retreat and left her home. She slept just fine in her crib all night by herself. Each family is different and they have different needs. Some people like co-sleeping and some don't, but saying that co-sleepers only co-sleep is not accurate.
cory and Kristen the vlog finally loaded, I would worry all night if she wasn't in your bedroom. walking is good for all of you take care , hugs and kisses to Chell Marie.🐞🎠
I love how Cory always seemed to be the more goofy / laid-back person before Chell was born, with Kristen being the more worried / serious one, but it seems the tables have turned. I love that! :P
Yes that happens you get a bit more sleep at night. A well slept family is a happy family. Wait till chell is walking and climbing out of bed oh that is a lot of fun so enjoy the extra sleep. You guys are doing great
I have been through that same sleep "issues" hehe 4 times over and it NEVER got easier the more you have....you just learned other ways of coping. You both are doing wonderful..Chel is a very lucky little girl. Stick with it...I promise it will get a little easier every night.
Oh the great co sleeping debate. I have two daughters each were handled completely differently. What works for one may not work for the other no matter how hard you try. All that matters is that you and your child are happy. Corey and Kristen you are doing an amazing job.
awesome vlog. Kristen's cooking looked delicious. u guys are such great parents. my son used to wake every 2 hours for 2 years. u two are doing good there with your bedtime routine. sleep is precious and will mean u guys have will have more energy in the day to enjoy Chell :)
the room is so cute! should be a little darker though, maybe keeping her awake too? this was a yummy vlog. what was Kristen making, looked so good!❤️❤️❤️
My son slept for 8 hours at two days old. I worried just as you two are. But it doesn't hurt them not to eat once or twice, as long as they are fed well before bedtime. In order to grow properly, they need sleep just as much as they need food. Now-a- days, I'm told that my son sleeps all night long without eating, but he's 45 years old! LOL... Kids, they grow and thrive in spite of us. No worries Cory!
This is so adorable.
Corey Is going HAM on the outro!!
I honestly never thought I'd say that.
cory is a excellent husband and father you can see the love he has for his family and he's very positive and up beat
Chell's eyes are just so freaking big and so beautiful, oh my god.
I just can't get enough of sweet baby Chell!!❤️❤️❤️
Chell is adorable ❤
I really love watching you two parent. You are both so sweet and that is going to transfer to Chell as she grows. She will feel that love forever. Love your lil fam!
Cory and Kristen,
I must say that Chell is such a beautiful baby! :)
it feels like everyone is now parents going on this adventure with you in the comments, yet here i am the guy who found your videos 10 years ago.... damn im 20 that means ive been watching your videos for half my life

Thanks for sticking around man! Yeah, it does feel like our viewers are becoming more like extended family.
the best part is i can see myself 6 years from now, a dad to be watching back on these videos lol
+DudeLikeHELLA I love u guys when ever I watch your videos it feels like a different world and I just turned 10 my life just started
Word! I've been watching since I was 8 and I'm 18 now! I hope to be a parent someday and look back at these vids for help.
same, I feel grown up now.
You are right about there being a "scent" in the air when the season is about to change. Something about the termination dust, trees and cooler temps make it smell awesome.
You're such a great and sweet family!
love the series. sole reason why I am visiting Alaska in the spring

Canadian Bacon is made from the loin of pork and ham is made from specific parts of the leg, thigh or rump of the pig.
Ha! Kristen is right.

Adorable family! So cute! God Bless!
Cory being upset about Chell in the other room was the cutest thing. x)
Chell will be learning things faster than other babies i can see on her face she will have a brilliant brain

Sometimes when I think about it too hard I find it really hard to believe that Mr. Safety has a beautiful baby girl now. You guys are such great parents and I'm always sending all the love
I think about that all the time!! The journey Cory's life has been. Very proud and happy for him!!
You guys are rockstars!! We kept our boys in their bassinet till almost six months lol. It IS super weird when they finally sleep in their own rooms.
6:50 I have a pot like that too! same colour as well. Le Creuset is a good pot.
Thanks for the fresh air all the way far from Alaska. It's been so hot here in South Korea. I love watching you guys and Chell growing.
I have been depressed but the fresh air from Alaska helped me out sometimes. thanks
Kristen should really make her own cooking channel! her food looks so amazing!!
It's ok guys! You are feeling the same things all parents go through . Just remember we have been having babies a while now! Peace to you.
I love how Kristen looks up info and it just scares Cory more instead of being comforting
I am Canadian and I agree with Cory on the "Canadian Bacon" thing - definitely just sliced ham.
My kids slept through the night by two months. It's awesome so enjoy!!!
Apart from the fact that there is the sudden infant death syndrome (typically death occurs between the hours of 00:00 and 09:00am)
ah, quit scaring them. Totally unnecessary
They have a baby monitor, Chell's not that far away, she's already two months old, and with Cory being so worried, I'm sure they will pick up on it (or anything bad) if it happens. It´s not. I sat in hospital almost every month. I wouldn´t hear it when she would be in another room.
Cory it's ok. Take advantage of Chell sleeping through the night. You know she will let you know if she's hungry. This is normal and you are a worry wart lol. Love you guys so much! Thanks for sharing your lives with us!

love the little video snips at the end

I'm Canadian and i've never heard of this sliced ham foolery. bacon is a thing of beauty that needs no change
That shit was ham.
She is at the right age to sleep all night.. and she will be happier too.. a couple naps in the daytime and all night.. enjoy it.
The bigger the baby the sooner they sleep through the night. Its a blessing.
Oh I love rhubarb!
you're a natural good dad Corey. you have a great wife and baby!
When she starts to roll, we'll change that but for now she can't roll, especially in her sleep suit. We totally understand and agree why it could be a problem though.
Agreed. Even little babies move a lot. Fitted sheet only is best.
I can't believe she's two months old already! Time flies :)
I know its hard but let things go and see what Chell does
So cute family goals xx
my favorite ending yet LOVE THE HAM
Wow, just wow.
And did her and your father ever have intimacy during that time? Or did she ever go out and you needed to take a nap? The issue with cosleepers is they ONLY cosleep. And a lot of parents like to be independant as well, it's not always about the kid.
This is bad advice.
I remember stuff from when I was 3. I'd feel SOOOOOOOO awkward and resentful if my mother breastfed me until I was that age.
Dude you are Hella Awesome. I've watched you for years! you are my role model :-)
cory and Kristen
the vlog finally loaded, I would worry all night if she wasn't in your bedroom. walking is good for all of you take care , hugs and kisses to Chell Marie.🐞🎠
I love how Cory always seemed to be the more goofy / laid-back person before Chell was born, with Kristen being the more worried / serious one, but it seems the tables have turned. I love that! :P
Whoa ham! Lol. You guys are great parents.
I love you guys as parents! You are the bomb
Yes that happens you get a bit more sleep at night. A well slept family is a happy family. Wait till chell is walking and climbing out of bed oh that is a lot of fun so enjoy the extra sleep. You guys are doing great
Awww poor Cory 😞. It will be OK. You all will be better with more sleep. The fun part is maybe she will be awake more during the day.
Chell has the best parents😊😊😆😆
Canadian Bacon = back bacon. American Bacon = belly bacon. Ham = thigh. Cottage Ham = shoulder.
The more you know.
I would love for Kristen to do a recipe video please, and a post par tum update on body/emotions.
I have been through that same sleep "issues" hehe 4 times over and it NEVER got easier the more you have....you just learned other ways of coping. You both are doing wonderful..Chel is a very lucky little girl. Stick with it...I promise it will get a little easier every night.
Dang you left us hangin!! Did Chel sleep through the night?!
Oh the great co sleeping debate. I have two daughters each were handled completely differently. What works for one may not work for the other no matter how hard you try. All that matters is that you and your child are happy. Corey and Kristen you are doing an amazing job.
she is getting so big already she is adorable you guys are awsome parents ❤
it's hard to let go, but yea, you're doing the right thing for all of you!
awesome vlog. Kristen's cooking looked delicious. u guys are such great parents. my son used to wake every 2 hours for 2 years. u two are doing good there with your bedtime routine. sleep is precious and will mean u guys have will have more energy in the day to enjoy Chell :)
you two are just so cute
Stay strong. The better you all sleep, the happier you will all be. Loved "HAM"
ahh i haven't watched the videos for a couple weeks and OMG her eyes !! her smile !! OMG !!!!
shes gotten so big ahh SO CUTE !!!
the room is so cute! should be a little darker though, maybe keeping her awake too? this was a yummy vlog. what was Kristen making, looked so good!❤️❤️❤️
Y'all should get a large carabiner clip for the stroller handle, then you can hang all of your grocery bags from it. I keep 2 on mine.
