The problem with it is they dont not only use blanks they use dummy rounds for realism. This and mixing live ammunition on the set creates a very dangerous situation.
The scene called for the use of dummy rounds. The gun contained 4 dummy rounds and one live round. Live ammo on the set was illegal and a fireable offense. Whoever brought the real bullets did so unofficially.
i read somewhere that the guy who intentionally gave him a loaded weapon was an intern named Shmul Hoidel, and apparently he has been part of several symmilar "accidents", he cant keep getting away with it!!
Now the lawyer for the armorer is depositing the theory that it was sabotage. That a disgruntled crew member may have slipped live rounds in. It's probably bullshit but it's an interesting theory.
I feel everyone involved was negligent. The armourer for not checking the gun, the people using the gun for fun inbetween takes and alec baldwin for practicing anything in vicinity of human people. It was 40 things all going wrong for one horrible accident
Alec has immense experience with guns on movie/tv sets, so his lack of gun safety & being unfamiliar with guns just doesn’t add up. Alec was also the producer who hired the armorer. He was the one with the gun last, didn’t verify the ammo or condition of the gun at the time, pointed the gun at a real person & pulled the trigger. Really difficult to not put all the blame on him actually. He should be charged & convicted. If it was any average Joe, they would have been arrested already & charged with multiple felony crimes & rightfully so. Please don’t neglect such negligence because someone is famous or rich, it’s not cool. This incident is proving how broken our justice system is because it’s showing a class division between celebrities & regular citizens & how they’re treated differently for similar crimes.
I understand why Alec Baldwin could be tried for this. I mean if somebody shot someone else I don't think saying "oh someone gave me the gun and said it wasn't loaded" would be a valid excuse regardless of how true it may be. It would at least be criminal neglect or something I'd imagine idk I'm not a cop or judge or whatever
Woody look deeper into the case. The guy who handed Alec the gun and said it was a cold gun was a manager that was fired by Alec back in 2019. And it was a big deal he was mad about it…
I was under the impression baldwin had been trained to safely handle firearms for all these action movies he has done since the 80's (he supposedly was) I have a hard time going along with the idea he bears no responsibility for the situation.
People citing basic gun safety are being dumb. Obviously actors can't follow all the rules of gun safety. It is supposed to be checked multiple times. We don't know the rules on set yet, but until we do, we can't blame a specific person yet
Take this as you will, but Alec Baldwin is 100% still responsible for what happened regardless of the incompetence of the staff and armorer, once the weapon is in your hands you are the one responsible for what happens with said weapon. I don't care if you are a anti-gun liberal hack of a actor or a pro-gun NRA member with years of experience. Don't get me wrong the armorer and staff who handled the weapon prior should also be held accountable as well, as the assistant director was the one who handed Baldwin the weapon to begin with. Firearm safety 101, treat every weapon as if it was loaded, don't point it at anything you don't intend to shoot, and all that, and furthermore know your weapons condition at all times, don't take the word of others on if it's loaded or not, check your self and clear it. If Baldwin just took a half a min to check to see if it was clear and not loaded this shooting would have been 100% avoided. They knew it was a real firearm, as earlier they where shooting cans on their break with it hence the live ammo, furthermore they decided to hire cheap and incompetent staff to save a few bucks, the armorer was not qualified for the position, the AD was fired from a previous set for firearm safety violations and negligent discharges there, and apparently on this set there was also safety issues and other cases of negligent discharges as well, with several staff raising concerns over safety and even leaving the set due to safety issues. For fucks sake the armorer gave an unchecked firearm to a 12 year old girl to play with on set. The armorer by the way who also said that loading blanks into the firearms was the "scariest part of the job" and whom was only hired out of desperation and to save a few dollars. This armorer also got into trouble on a Nicholas Cage film for shooting off blanks without notice and when Cage and others didn't have safety gear on and right next to them, causing Cage to chew the armorer out for it and storm off set in rage. So over all it was just one big soup sandwich cluster fuck of events and safety violations. Which ended with taking of a life. With all that said Baldwin is still 100% responsible for the life taken even with the incompetence of the others on set, who are accessories to the incident all the same.

It’s definitely not the actor’s responsibility to check the gun. And even if it was a very small number of actors would know how to check whatever weapon they were handed to see it was loaded. Let alone the difference between live and prop rounds?
@@geraldnone343 it is the actor’s responsibility. Anyone who is handed a gun should check to see if the gun is loaded. It is also the armorers responsibility. They are carrying a firearm they should be trained to respect them. Actors not knowing how to use them is not a good excuse
@@yesimbigwes no it is not, actors will never be checking the gun themselves, the most they will ever do is oversee the check by the armorer. if actors are not trained to in firearm safety, that would still be the armorers failure to train his set of proper gun protocol.
Not trying to defend Baldwin, you are right, he was a producer, but as an actor, it’s entirely possible he did nothing “wrong” here.
@@hunterb7549 have you ever seen the training Keanu reeves went through for john wick? This should be the normal. Not necessarily the intense 3 gun competition shooting level skill, but the general safety while using a gun. Furthermore, let’s say your friend handed you a gun saying it’s unloaded. Are you going to check it? And let’s say you accidentally shoot someone. Who’s fault is that? It’s not the fault of the person who handed the gun to you. It’s yours because you are the one who pulled the trigger and did not check to see if it’s loaded. When there are firearms on set the actors and anyone on set should be trained with them, absolutely no excuses.
@@hunterb7549 exact reason why people who know nothing about guns shouldn’t have an opinion on them or handle them.
As the person holding the gun, I think it's THIER responsibility to check the gun before messing with it.
Always treat the gun as if it is loaded at all times, I don't care if it's been "cleared".. You take 10 seconds to check every time you handle a gun. Humans are dumb and we make mistakes, just check the damn gun
7:40 "hard to recreate recoil" true, but I'm sure they could work out CO2-powered prop guns to recreate the reciprocating mass of the slide.
The pops and especially the smell definitely add an edge.

What I heard was they wanted to give the scene another shot and Alec didn't want to. So he pulled the gun out, pointed it and them, and said "why don't I just shoot the both of you?"
yeah i saw that too, that apparently turned out to be a photoshop edit of an article that went viral
Yeah that's a lie. Thanks for being easy to fool thoug
Alec "Four Leaf" Baldwin doesn't know what gun he had in his hands, just the sound it makes when it takes a woman's life.
i don't give a shit what anyone tells you about a gun they're handing you. you ALWAYS make sure it's safe when you take possession of it. the fact that he not only didn't even check it but aimed it at someone and pulled the trigger all in one instance is completely insane.
its a movie
it’s supposed to be someone’s entire job to handle the guns safely. Alec Baldwin doesn’t know shit about guns
@@Hunter-jj3ud if he doesn’t know how a gun works, why did he have one in his hands? Gross negligence on Alec’s part and the whole productions part. Absolutely no excuse for what happened
@@Hunter-jj3ud then he shouldn't be handling them. period. a gun is a gun. hollywood culture doesn't get a pass just because. there should be at least three people charged here and baldwin is one of them. everyone that handles firearms should have to take a full safety course. ignorance isn't an excuse when you kill someone and it's completely and easily preventable.

It really can’t be that complicated of a job

Michael Massee wasn't charged for shooting Brandon Lee in pretty much the same situation, Baldwin shouldn't have been charged either.
Nobody talks about the calibre
Now the lawyer for the armorer is depositing the theory that it was sabotage. That a disgruntled crew member may have slipped live rounds in. It's probably bullshit but it's an interesting theory.
I feel everyone involved was negligent. The armourer for not checking the gun, the people using the gun for fun inbetween takes and alec baldwin for practicing anything in vicinity of human people. It was 40 things all going wrong for one horrible accident
Bro got a collateral
Should have never had the gun pointed toward anybody
I don’t feel bad for him, the victim’s family-definitely
it was a "negligent accident" not just an accident.

Someone has to be blamed for this death unfortunately lol if they killed someone and no ones goes to jail that’s crazy and scary

How many chambers had live rounds?
I believe just one. There was 4 rounds of dummy bullets. The dummy bullets are not blanks but a different type of bullet.

People citing basic gun safety are being dumb. Obviously actors can't follow all the rules of gun safety. It is supposed to be checked multiple times. We don't know the rules on set yet, but until we do, we can't blame a specific person yet

Why is he not in prison
He was the producer. He was responsible for everything on that set, right up to accepting the weapon from an unauthorized person.
