    this story was so much more than a romance book. it was marketed as a romance book but it more of a women's fiction. it is about breaking the cycle of domestic abuse. it was not about atlas or ryle, it was about lily choosing her daughter and herself in order to break the cycle of abuse and trauma.
    colleen hoover, in her clever writing style, made us fall in the trap of red flags of ryle and most of us missed them, which is the whole point of the book. sometimes just loving someone is not enough.

    • @SaumyasBookstation

      That's true. However, romance is one of the most widely perused genre and from a marketing standpoint, advertising it as such makes most sense because it would grab maximum eyeballs. Once the reader picks this book up, the depth of the story and Colleen Hoover's engaging writing makes sure that the reader understands what this book is actually about as you explained in your comment. The only downside is that a reader might be expecting a lighthearted romance but the traumatic theme of the story ends up hitting the reader like a ton of bricks.

    I can only see girls reviewing Collen Books. Also I read first 20 pages of It ends with us. It was majorly from girls perspective . Please tell if I can read or not ? Or do guys read it ?

      just because you have seen mainly women reviewing it and the book being from a female perspective doesn't mean that you can't read the book. You might be aware of the fact that this book revolves around the idea of domestic violence and abuse and i personally feel like everyone should read the book regardless of one's gender as it takes you into the mind of a survivor and can maybe help you empathize more with people who are going through this on a daily basis.
      i dont want to give too much away because youve just started reading the book but my opinions and thoughts have definitely changed for the better after picking this book up. I personally think that you should stick with this book and keep your mind open :)

    • @nivirautela
      @nivirautela 2 роки тому +1

      i also wanted to add that you dont have to really think about that stuff when you're reading just ask yourself if you're into the content of the book and if you're enjoying it .
      assuming that youre a cis man i think that you should get an idea of how females think too because obviously there is a large percentage of women in the world and it helps to communicate with them when u can empathize and emotionally connect with them
      anyways i really hope that u read the book till the end :)

    Don't take my words as an offense,I don't stand with the actions of ryle but still I can't let my heart from going out to him.As a person with anger issues due to past frustration and depression I see it as an illness with no medicine.When it is out of control,your mind is not in your control you say and do terrible things.I've pained my parents and brother enough with this and I feel very bad of me everytime after that very bad in fact but still I can't get a hold of it the next time.Ryle suffered everyday every minute after that.I cried when I saw his pain of not knowing his child growing in 5months,I cried when could look at his child growing in womb only by a chance of coincidence.I cried so much when he was sitting near the crib sad suffering so much due to his acts and the future he had brought to himself.I cried for hours and even now when he was shaking crying holding his daughter and lily at the end when he said he will ask her daughter to leave when she was in Lily's place.Well it was the beginning of his life long suffering for his actions for which he is suffering beyond words and expression deep inside.Lily didn't deserve any of this pain she was and is going through but after everything she can again lose her heart to atlas who is always there at her darkest times.But ryle.... .Ryle is not the kind of person who will lose his heart again nor get to be that happy when he was with lily.It is a life long suffering for him which I know he very well deserves but still I can't let my heart from aching for him. People,I'm in no way justifying abuse but looking from a patient's point of view it looks very bad, painful.I feel he will not do it again after what and how he was in the end and what he said but yes again that's where things start again and go in the way of worse .The ending feels so right, lily is so much right but I can't let my heart from dropping or crying or aching for his sake.

      i completed this book yesterday and was in a constant thought that though ryle had a problem but when you love someone you accept their flaws. I felt that lily loved him but she never accepted his flaws . I ain't judging it but by it i wonder that what this word LOVE actually means and was just going to all the videos of '' it ends with us'' to get a view on this thought but everyone was against ryle. Found your comment which exactly matches my thoughts :)))

    • @rashiraj454
      @rashiraj454 Рік тому

      Damn, I thought the same thing, I cried too much too much, I can't explain. My emotions truly goes with your comment. At last, Ryle was all left alone due to his past depression & Lilly has still an another option which she chose for😭😭😭I am not supporting domestic abuse... But deep inside I am very disheartened for the love of Ryle

    • @arpitasaxena7533
      @arpitasaxena7533 Рік тому

      @@vibeswith.krishh I get what you are saying. But there is a line at the end where the author says that when u accept someone who has abused you and is apologetic about it . There can be two options either they improve and never repeat and you get to be happy and the second is it gets worse. Lily had seen the worst with her father when her mother took the first option and with Ryle she has seen that accepting the first option only worked for few days or months and ultimately he lost control of his mind and so as to break this cycle she was the one who needed to take the second option to leave him. Maybe she missed the chance of having a complete family with her daughter but she maybe she just saved her daughter from the trauma of it all. And every mother will always chose her child's security over any man or anyone in general

    Sorry miss but i find this review video more towards advertisement of storytel app instead of book. Its good to advertise but throught out the video gou were advertising that app i felt to stop the video rightaway better you mention the app advertisement to minimal rather than throughtout the video . 👍🏻 Btw i have read this novel and as you feet about lilly me too felt and even i went through roller coaster ride while reading it.

      This video has been sponsored by Storytel and it is mentioned right in the beginning of the video (includes paid content). Being a small channel, I do not have the privilege of keeping the advertisement part minimal. I need to make sponsored videos to keep the channel running. That being said, I love the Storytel app and grateful to the only brand for supporting the Indian Booktube channels.
      And thanks for sharing your views on the book.
