They really outdid themselves with the Hasbro bucket. Its actually insane how good it looks for that price. You will NEVER see something that good at that price. Seriously impressive, I love mine.
You gave these a much more fair review than the the RS Props guys did. Taking the prices into account matters a lot. I have the Hasbro helmet, and it's very impressive to look at.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the kind words. I think price is a massive factor. I've said it before: not everyone is going to be able to or want to drop almost $400 on a helmet! The Hasbro Black Series strikes the perfect middle ground between accessible to everyone and accuracy. Thanks for watching!
Alright you've convinced me.... I saw the black series at my local shop the other day and was tempted, haha but now I'm going to go down and buy it tomorrow! Great video, cheers..
@@darthwizzywizard I sure did! I was actually wearing it yesterday... where I live in New Zealand has just gone back into covid lockdown so I wore it the the shops! 😷
@@amonj1567 nice. I got mine a few months ago. I just bought the 40th Prototype version as well. I have the new one on preorder as well. The repaint Mando version as well.
Brilliant and another Boba fan. I have just won one of these battle damaged ones off ebay and should be coming next week. Also won the re-armored Boba helmet.
Also the “drop shadow” you refer to is likely from the printing process. I spent a few years screenprinting fine art and that shadow is called “trap” to make sure the colors overlap correctly and not leave an outline of the previous color. You can see in some parts of your copy this is the case with a thin silver outline in some areas. Just means the registration was off a little bit but not a big deal
I’m glad you mentioned the difference in the shape of the dome! Not too many people mention that. I personally like the flatter dome on the EFX boba helmet
Ebob Hazard Overall true man, I wish Hasbro went with a screen accurate mold instead of a laser scan and didn’t tweak the helmet. I love the overall warped look of the old helmet. Then again it would probably be a similar price to EVS then.
With you mentioning the asymmetrical ANH Vader helmet; the first time finding out about that I thought they were saying one lense was noticeably lower, the breathing vent triangle had a longer slope on one side, the dome flare protrudes out more on one side, etc. That word just evoked asymmetry with faces...and all that entails. Then seeing it's mostly about the colour scheme. But as you pointed out, they were hand-sculpted, and it was a little wonky in design. Just not something I see though; although all the smudges and fingerprints are considerably more noticeable. I just really dig the original look so much more than all the predecessors...including the more exposed tunic and the costume as a whole. I know the Empire/Jedi look is more preferred and iconic (same with Jedi Fett), but I just love those original looks a bit more. And it's baffling how many times images of one of the PP Fett costumes were used in books and merchandise. Never saw them on screen, but here they are lol. And understandable most fans don't notice a difference. A lot of ppl think there's just one Vader and one Boba Fett look.
Thank you! I definitely will. I haven't gotten anything too exciting to share recently, other than a print from Sideshow. But I love sharing my collection with other Boba fans. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this man, my Black Series is incoming and I can’t wait! Your collection is beautiful, better watch out for a certain General getting jealous
I just got the Hasbro Helmet for $25 bucks at Walmart and I'm so happy with my purchase, and watching this video makes a cooler experience bc of the great points on that, nice video sorry for my bad English
Not the correct video, but wanted to say I never knew of the thumbprint detail with the ESB hero helmet, so thanks for sharing that knowledge. And I thought I knew virtually everything about Fett. Being super into Boba Fett since '95, surprisingly the only helmet I ever got was the Don Post one. So now owning this Hasbro version is kinda a (highly affordable) holy grail piece.
Excellent comparison video. I was literally a day away from buying a EFX bucket last year and then I saw the Black Series announcement so I waited. Glad I did because for $100 you can’t beat it. May still get an EFX later on but for display purposes the Black works amazingly well. Also, you have a LEGIT Boba Fett collection.
I appreciate what Hasbro has done for us Gen Xers that didn't have anything like this growing up. I would've loved this growing up along with the Stormtrooper helmet. I'm still a big kid at heart so I love the Hasbro version for the price. And the interior is amazing. Thank you for the comparison.
I'm right there with you! I grew up with all konds of awesome role-play toys and if I had the stuff then that we do now, I would have been in toy heaven. But now, I'm living my toy dream. Lol Thanks for watching the video. I appreciate it.
I got my Black Series Helmet today and I remembered what you said about your kill stripes being wonky in the last video. Your helmets kill stripes would appear to be wrong, the kill stripes on my helmet run parallel with the red strip on the brow ridge. I do like this lid, very nice.
I've noticed you really take the time to thoroughly reply back to ppl and help them. That's a very rare thing and I commend you for that. I was wondering if you collect other stuff besides Star Wars? The POTF2 line in '95 is what got me into "adult" collecting. I went over-the-top hardcore with anything Star Wars related. Not too long after that, I went all over the place with 1/6 scale figures, MOTU, horror, ThunderCats, TMNT, Marvel/DC, Muppets, dinosaur models, Ghostbusters, etc. I'm a good budgeter, but it's definitely been a bit overwhelming the past few years with all the amazing stuff companies put out...especially NECA. So I do admire a collector that can focus on a single property, or even a single character.
Thanks for the mind words. I appreciate people taking the time to watch my videos, as this is a super small channel and I really only post stuff because in some cases, it helps sort of fill a gap. I started a few years ago with the Sideshow lide-size Fett because I noticed nobody had posted an actual breakdown of the production piece and I thought it was worth seeing. In time, it has morphed into me sharing my thoughts and opinions on here about things I love which have actually helped people make informed decisions. For instance, I started Collecting Ghostbusters props recently, and if you've checked out my other videos, you may have seen I did a couple on a licensed ghost trap that I was really disappointed in. I LOT of people watched that video and responded saying they were going to buy it but after seeing the production piece, they decided against it. To me, that makes it worth it, knowing I helped someone make a better decision about spending their hard-earned money. Currently, Boba Fett is my primary collection, followed by random Star Wars props and Ghostbusters props. Lol I don't have enough space to collect all the things I'd want! I'd love to have the NECA TMNT figures, as that was a huge part of my childhood but I'd probably have to get rid of my bed to make room. Lmao
@@ebobhazard That's really commendable with what you're doing. Not trying to get the accolades, but primarily focusing on educating collectors. I ended up passing on the Matty Collector Ghostbuster props. Even passed on the Spirit Halloween ones when they came out (other than the Slimer they made). Apparently I have a bit of a thing for Slimer...noticing I have quite a bit of merchandise of them. Then last week I saw the re-released Spirit PKE meter and slightly improved ghost trap. I grabbed the PKE, but still need to get that trap. I don't mind that they aren't top-of-the-line by no means. I'll probably get that upcoming Hasbro neutrino wand. It looks pretty awesome...better than the Mattel version. Yeah those NECA Turtles are at the top of my collection right now. I really loved getting the DC Collectible BTAS line, but now it's onto fleshing out TMNT. That was the last big line I collected as a kid. It's pretty crazy I just spent $222 for the SH Figuarts ANH Chewie. I only have a few 6" Star Wars figures - was always more of a 3 3/4" purest collector, but some of these 1/12 figures are super damn nice. The Mafex ESB Fett (and that HT one I mentioned) is one of my favourite figures in my collection for sure. I was just charged for the Hasbro Fett helmet. So hope to have that by the end of next week. I really need to get me one of those custom stands, or find something at Walmart or Lowe's that I can use or make - like a wooden dowel and round base. And thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm quite sure I've seen other videos of yours before. I'll definitely go back through the catalog and watch them again.
Fantastic video! Very fair analysis, and I'm quite impressed by Hasbros work in making a quite accurate helmet for so cheap. Mine will be here in a day and I'm currently designing and printing my second iteration of boba fett armor for a surprisingly accurate but extremely affordable kit (for example it runs me about 10-15 dollars to print the 3 main chest plates, and they're off the printer in less then 48 hours)
Thanks, man. 3D printing can be such a great tool for cosplayers. I'm more of a Ghostbusters cosplay, and I just ordered a new, 3D printed PKE meter. Congratulations on your armor coming together! That's super cool!
What an absolutely fantastic review. I was building a Din Djarin helmet by 3D printing it but I think the next one I look at doing or buying will be the Hasbro Boba Fett helmet. It looks beautiful.
I think that the difference in price is so big that the EFX version is totally outlandish to be even considered a buying option ... The details are minimum between them and the Hasbro version has some advantages over the EFX in my point of view
That's a very fair position to have and honestly, a big reason for this video. The EFX is very pricey and for people to think that's their best option seems unfair to me. The Hasbro BS helmet is awesome, especially for the price. Unless you're a crazy Boba collector like me, there's no real reason to buy the EFX.
That's a great collection you have there. I never noticed the wonkyness you mentioned in the movies. The nerdness level on this video is off the charts. Congratulations.
@@ebobhazard Since I caught your attention. I can't think of a better person to ask this question to: What are Mandalorian armors regularly made of?. As far as I know, beskar is part of the alloy used in them, yes, but other materials are used as well that I do not know of. Maybe you do? I see a lot of people that started getting interested in Mandalorians because of the show thinking that they are all just "beskar armors", but fail to appreciate how unique Din Djarin's armor being pure beskar really is.
@@Cusifaii well, back in the day, it was often Dursteel. Before The Mandalorian made it Beskar, Fett's armor was said to be made of Durasteel. I've also heard Alum and Duraplast... tough to tell, though, now that a lot of that stuff is considered "legends", but I still like the idea of there being a wide array of metals used in making armor. Makes it feel more real to me. Like, maybe the Beskar is the highest quality and not every Mando has access to it. Juat makes it feel like a more relatable universe.
I always used it as a display piece... Until my friend challenged me and the Bois a Nerf war. As soon as I heard that I couldn’t help myself. Everyone else showed up in typical Nerf gear but I showed up wearing the body pads and a Boba Fett helmet. I ended up winning but I think it was just because I would intimidate my enemies. Now I use it whenever I am challenged to a Nerf war and it is awesome.
I made a black and silver one out of cardboard. The antenna doesn't move and all I see is a small line, barely enough to walk safely, but hey, It's a Mandalorian helmet, the coolness will free your way in crowds.
I have both as well now, and glad to see someone else doing a side by side too. Lots of good points. Do you have a run down of all the other Fett helmets you have?
I had a video I had filmed a while ago discussing the different helmet but never uploaded it. I've been considering filming a new one, though but there are a couple I need to pull out of storage first. But if there's interest in it, I'd happily film it.
Indeed. The EFX definitely has a more complex level of detail... but it's also substantially more expensive. So, it's the type of thing you need to decide, 'is it worth it'? Or just be a twerp like me, and buy both. 🤣🤣. Thanks for watching!
I have a question. Is the black series longer from the front? the visor (peak) looks longer. I saw people using it without the strap and they look like they have no neck.. Thank you
I don't think it is. This helmet is very susceptible to it looking different based on the angle it's at, but I'll happily measure it later and let you know for sure.
I think that makes a lot of sense! Not everyone wants to spend hundreds of dollars on a Boba Fett helmet! I love that there's a solid option for people who want to keep it on the cheaper side. I'm glad this one works for you!
I also noticed my hasbro helmet has a defect in the stripes. Unfortunately, mine go at an upward angle instead of yours going downward. I wont complain too much about it though, I have the same attitude after hearing your thoughts about it.
Huh, that's interesting that it's the opposite issue of mine. I'm hearing about a lot of printing issues with this helmet... seems pretty susceptible to production errors. But I'm glad it's something you're able to accept.
Thanks for the comparison in this and the other video...because of the great comparison I ordered the Black Series helmet, and I'm looking forward to getting it! The EFX version goes for around £600 here in the UK, whereas the Black Series version goes for just over £100!!!
TheDefiant I will definitely be trying to pick up a black series Boba Fett helmet.. but if it’s anything like the Darth Vader one they will probably be sold out.. 👍😎👍
Thx for the information I will check that out.. you were subscribed to my old UA-cam channel I think.. I’ve just started a new channel and I’ve just uploaded a video of my cosplay Boba Fett outfit.. check it out if you have time and let me know what you..👍😎👍
Nice review man. Loved your honest appraisal of both helmets. I hate that elitist approach some take when reviewing/trashing an obviously inferior replication, like someone looking to pay $100 is looking for an actual movie prop. Concessions have to be made.
Indeed. I try to judge things for what they are. I love the more adult-oriented toys like the Black Series helmet. Not everyone wants to or has the means to drop $350-$400 for a helmet. I'm appreciative of Hasbro making one this good. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
After getting the Hasbro, I've been very let down by the drab paint job. Looks worse in person IMO that online. I got two Hasbros for Christmas from two different people lol, so selling them both to help fund an EFX.
I got a good grip of it and gave it a solid pull on each side. After the first couple times of removing it and reinserting it, it loosened up enough to be able to pull it out pretty easily.
Thanks for the super detailed comparison. I think what hasbro did is to mirror the left half of the visor to the right to get a symmetrical look, which happens to be the „taller/bigger“ side of the visor. So your ending up with an overall bigger looking visor which is actually just a „corrected“ version of the original. That’s at least my conclusion so that I can „live with that“ 😁 Otherwise it would be kinda frustrating to me, knowing they changed something just for playability.
If you aren't holding it side-by-side, the alteration they did to the helmet and visor is incredibly minor. If you look at any of the older Boba Fett helmets (I'm talking Don Post, Altmann's, etc.) they took far more liberties with the shape. The Black Series is REALLY close. As for your hypothesis, it could totally be that! I was just making a guess, so your opinion is no less valid than my own.
I would say, if you get it, you likely won't be disappointed. Also, just of note: Hasbro just put up for sale today on Hasbro Pulse the version featured in the Mandalorian, but it isn't scheduled to ship until January 2022.
The EFX visor is purposely asymmetrical, one eye slit wider than the other, I guess the story is battle damaged it? The cheapest EFX I've found is $400, and I ordered a Black series for $90, but won't get it for while.
Yea, I only know the asymmetry was present in the original helmet because like all other Star Wars props, they were all hand made. And yes, EFX did capture that. That's awesome you managed to find the Black Series helmet for only $90! I had to pay full retail.
Yes! I love the Black Series helmets, too. I own several of them and feel like each new one, they set the bar higher than the last. I already have my Din Jarin helmet on order.
Will there be a new boba fett helmet in december or shortly after? I want to get my brother a boba fett helmet but I might wait until book of boba /mando s3 since there might be a new version. When do you think book of boba, kotor remake ( revan/malak mask, and revan/makak kotor saber), mando s3 and obi wan merch items will launch?
So, I honestly don't have any info about any unannounced merchandise but I can tell you Hasbro has a repainted Black Series helmet coming with the paint job from the end of Mando S2, often called the "Boba Fresh" look. www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/145476 It's the same mold but with the updated paint job.
Well, for what it's worth, the screen-used helmet had a really wonky, "wavey" brow and visor. But I feel you, especially since most licensed products are idealized and usually fix that wonkiness. I think it's easier for production. I do think, in person at least, the visor looks good. I have it up on my life-size Fett and it looks great.
I just got my Black series helmet, also has the same defect with the Kill stripes angled down... Not sure How i feel about it, would like for it to be straight but not too sure if its necessary. Good to see I wasn’t the only one though
Sorry to hear that, man. My prop guy was telling me he heard about a guy whose helmet was missing a whole color application. So, it seems like there is some wonkiness with the ink apps. I was going to exchange mine but I was worried my next one could be even worse.

What gets me is we spent over 400 for the EFX and spent 130 for the black series...and they can be compared..they actually IMO compete in a lot of ways..with that said...that says alot about the Black series...I never thought I'd say that about a toy. Just order another one and do a swap out and return it. 😀 not that I've ever done that
I was as shocked as anyone when I saw the Hasbro preproduction model. I had no idea how they would do the deco but as you can see, they did a solid job. Have you seen the "signature" edition of the EFX helmet? It's being offered through Star Wars Shop (which I don't think is affiliated with Lucasfilm) and Daniel Logan? They're asking $999 for it. It's the regular PCR helmet with a plaque of everyone who has played Boba Fett. While it's a cool thing, it's an obscene amount of money. Now there's a version with green ink they're asking something like, $1200 for. Nope.
@@ebobhazard its amazing what people will pay for. I know these Hasbro helmets are gonna kill a lot of those potential EFX sales.. I was certain the Hasbro was gonna be sub par to say the least... In a lot of ways I feel like the EFX is over priced now...People can say what they will and I'm sure they will. I wish EFX would of casted them in fiberglass. With the assembly of the mold injected helmets I can't see how they saved time or money.
@@jayholmes4147 I think they ended up doing the PCR helmets because they're faster to get out. EFX doesn't have the best track record getting merchandise to retailers, and it took less time to produce than fiberglass helmets. I would have definitely preferred fiberglass, though. But to that point, I haven't heard the best things about their fiberglass scout trooper helmet.
@@ebobhazard I dunno if you noticed..the indentations all over the helmet is where the layer areas should be. Its like they didn't line em up right or just did their own thing.
What are your thoughts on the prototype version? I see it as a nice canvas for a custom helmet. Though I wish they took off the imprint of damages from the sides since I'm keeping it as is. Really want the pop figure to display them together.
First, thanks for watching and for the comment! The prototype helmet is... fine. I have it because I'm a completionist but I don't love the physical damage on it. It kind of takes away the 'blank slate' nature of it. I guess, if you wanted to fill in the gaps, it would be an ok starting point for a custom. I think it still goes for less than the BS ESB helmet, too.
If you're a fan, I'd say so! The BS helmet is getting pricey on the secondary market... so if you find it, "in the wild", I think it would be tough to pass up on!
It looks like the colors of the dome/cheeks and mandibles are very muted. Some people say they based the color on what the original mask looks like now instead of what it looked like back in the day. What do you think?
That's a tough one for me to really answer! I love and own both... I will say, if you plan on wearing it, the Trooper helmet runs small. I can't wear it, where as the Fett helmet is definitely roomier. I also like the features of the Fett helmet. Both they both look great on display, so if you plan on only getting one, I'd go with whichever character you like the most! I will say this one last thing... if you find a Fett helmet cheap, you may want to consider that. I was looking at eBay lasy night and noticed the Fett helmet is going for likd, more than double the original retail. Not just on buy it nows, but actual auctions. So do with that info as you will...
As in cosplay? Either one would work for a good Boba costume, though the Efx is a bit closer. However, the Efx would not be 501st approved because it has visible gaps between the sections. If that doesn't help, let me know.
I'm gonna pick up the Hasbro helmet. I think they really outdid themselves with this particular piece. My one question for you is, will you display it just sitting at that angle like in the video, or would it be a good idea to get a stand for it like the Master Replicas to prevent any sort of damage?
I like having a stand for helmets. A great option is to make a stand out of a cheap countertop paper towel stand if you don't want to spend a lot on it.
Impressive. Most Impressive!!! Given the price and the fact it is mass produced by a toy company, it is a great helmet to have in a collection. Some of the differences between the helmet is visible upon closer inspection but from a distance they look very similar. Enjoyed your review of both the helmets. Love the Boba collection you have as well 😁 Edit : the Hassbro black series Boba Fett helmet is 100% better than Don Post helmets and the Rubies helmets. I'd even go on to say the Habsro helmet is 100% better than any other "cheap" Fett helmet released in all the years they've been punching out mass produced helmets.
Absolutely. As a long-time Fett collector, I never thought I'd get a mass produced Fett helmet that looked this good. But here we are. And you're right, there are differences but you can't go wrong for the price. Thanks for watching!

@@ebobhazard my most Impressive piece is a full suit of Fett armor. I wear it during Halloween or when I help with fundraisers. Since my car accident I have to use a cane and wheelchair and the joke now when I wear the costume is this. . . "Yes he survived the Sarlaac pit and he's a bit handicapped from it, but still a badass that can take you down." LOL
Great video. You seem like the guy to ask this question. Where is the best place to buy a relatively accurate BF full costume? I’m surprised anovos hasn’t touched it yet, only the jet pack
So ready-made Boba Fett costumes can be tough to come by because of how intricate they are. I think one of the reasons Anovos never did it was because there is so much paint detail, it wouldn't be cost-effective and really, kinda beyond the abilities of mortal men to finish. There are a couple makers who offer full sets, one is RS Propmasters (www.rspropmasters.com/). They do a complete Return of the Jedi costume. Another make who has been around for years goes by BobaMaker (www.bobamaker.co.uk). Another excellent source for a Fett costume is Man of War Studios (manofwarstudios.com/), though I don't think he does painted work. Also, for the sake of being honest and upfront, a complete, screen accurate costume is going to cost thousands of dollars. Additionally, there are definitely some sellers to stay away from. I don't want to bash anyone, so I'm not going to name any individual makers but as a rule of thumb, stay away from eBay sellers. Rubies put out a "supreme" edition several years back that goes for over a $1000. Stay away, it isn't worth it. It's cheaply made and a waste of money. My last bit of advice would be to join the Dented Helmet message board (www.thedentedhelmet.com/forums/). They're the premiere resource for all things Boba Fett, and you can likely score a finished costume of you watch their sales section. I hope this was helpful.
Great and valued comparison! All around awesome video. As someone that has both helmets, as well as others custom made by some of the most renowned builders, the EFX one is the one to get. The quality is far better. The hasbro one is definitely far cheaper feeling and looking. The small details are every thing when it comes to a boba bucket. The mounding marks and lines on the hasbro are very unappealing. Even the color is a massive reason. The hasbro one is tempting by price but thats about it. When you compare the more accurate custom ones with the efx ones, the EFX is still significantly cheaper. Its crazy that it would fall into the middle ground price wise and be so good. I do not recommend the hasbro one at all.
I totally get your take on the Hasbro helmet. If someone can afford it, custom-made is the way to go. I've been wanting a GMH helmet myself. But they're expensive with a paint job. What I like about the Hasbro is, for the price, I think it's a solid product. Compared to say, the Rubies Supreme from a few years back (which retailed for about $50-$60), it's a huge step up. The detail definitely is quite as sharp and you can't beat the metal parts on the EFX. I think it comes down to the individual collector, though. How much they want to spend compared to how accurate they want. Again, I think about the Matty Toys Ghostbusters "prop" line, and those are basically grown-up toys, and I think there's room for everything in the market. But people need to be informed about the differences to make an educated decision. Thanks again for the thoughts and watching.
the black series is as good as the EFX version. side by side they look all most the same. great review video of both of them. and great info. for the best part i no many will not agree with me . but the black series is a win win due to the fact that noit only dose it look amazing but a hell of a lot less money then the awesome EFX version. both are great helmets.

The “drop shadow “ you’re talking about is actually the application of the screening of the paint. It’s the colour shift of the gray in the green.
Also the “drop shadow” you refer to is likely from the printing process. I spent a few years screenprinting fine art and that shadow is called “trap” to make sure the colors overlap correctly and not leave an outline of the previous color. Yup, and I tend to think the flatter dome is more accurate. Again, just a byproduct of the shape being altered on the Hasbro.
Ebob Hazard Overall true man, I wish Hasbro went with a screen accurate mold instead of a laser scan and didn’t tweak the helmet. I love the overall warped look of the old helmet. Then again it would probably be a similar price to EVS then.
Took me a second to recognize the table top. Well played, sir.
It’s awesome to finally find a Boba fan. Thanks for your vids, please keep it up.
Thank you! I definitely will. I haven't gotten anything too exciting to share recently, other than a print from Sideshow. But I love sharing my collection with other Boba fans. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this man, my Black Series is incoming and I can’t wait! Your collection is beautiful, better watch out for a certain General getting jealous
lol There's a reason I don't share my address.
I am eternally jealous of your collection
Lol thanks so much. It's definitely been something I have been working at over the years. Definitely more than 20 years...
I just got the Hasbro Helmet for $25 bucks at Walmart and I'm so happy with my purchase, and watching this video makes a cooler experience bc of the great points on that, nice video sorry for my bad English
Thanks so much for sharing!!! That's a heck of a deal you got. That helmet often goes for close to $200 on eBay now.
@@ebobhazard Ikr, BS helmets got expensive on eBay or market place, thanks for the answer greetings from Mexico!
Top Video. Thanks for the Decent feedback. I'm a first time builder. And since I've gotten the Hasbro Helmet. I'm thinking why the Heck not...
The lower visor looks more intimidating.
And its harder to see in it
I got my Black Series Helmet today and I remembered what you said about your kill stripes being wonky in the last video. Your helmets kill stripes would appear to be wrong, the kill stripes on my helmet run parallel with the red strip on the brow ridge. I do like this lid, very nice.
Didn’t he say they were wrong?
@@calumryan6328 Yes but he also said he wasn't sure if they were supposed to be like that.
If only all comparison videos could be half that good... Thank you very much ! J.O. from France.
Hey, thanks so much for the kind words! I just do my best to point out the things I see and share the knowledge I have.
Lmao
@@ebobhazard
That's really commendable with what you're doing.
I'll definitely go back through the catalog and watch them again.
wow i cannot even imagine how hyped you were to hear about the book of boba fett.
Oh, absolutely. I'm just waiting, too, for the inevitable influx of new Boba merch. I betyer start making more money.

@@lorenzoserrano yup, just always nice to see a new look
Really feeling good about my Hasbro purchase lol. Thanks
You got it, man! Hope it looks great when you get it!
The Hasbro appears slightly bigger in all aspects.
Great comparison with a lot of good catches in the differences, feeling really good about my Hasbro bucket now, thanks!
At 9:55, you also get a really clear shot at the weathering of the rangefinder of the EFX, on which the Hasbro has none
What an absolutely fantastic review. I was building a Din Djarin helmet by 3D printing it but I think the next one I look at doing or buying will be the Hasbro Boba Fett helmet. It looks beautiful.
Thanks for taking the time to make this comparison! Very great video!
You got a new subscriber :)
@@justinnunez176 thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
Ha! Thanks... I guess? Lmao. I'm cool with being a nerd. Thanks for watching!
@@ebobhazard As am I ! As you should!
IT'S BOBA FETT!!
Love the video
I always used it as a display piece...
Until my friend challenged me and the Bois a Nerf war. As soon as I heard that I couldn’t help myself. Everyone else showed up in typical Nerf gear but I showed up wearing the body pads and a Boba Fett helmet. I ended up winning but I think it was just because I would intimidate my enemies. Now I use it whenever I am challenged to a Nerf war and it is awesome.
I made a black and silver one out of cardboard. The antenna doesn't move and all I see is a small line, barely enough to walk safely, but hey, It's a Mandalorian helmet, the coolness will free your way in crowds.
well it looks like you need to get a new shiny boba helmet with the paintjob
I can imagine your happiness in see Boba in Mandalorian episodes man , great collection !!!
Thanks so much!
the second i saw the backround i was like "ah yes, a man of culture"
Thanks for the detailed comparison. Excellent video. I'm very impressed with the Hasbro version for the value for money.
Love the fact that its symetrical.
me too the wonky efx looks off - even though its correct to screen
But I do find the Efx somehow nostalgic because it is similar to the screen used prop and if possible I will acquire it eventually 😊
On the BS one, the speed at which the flashing lights blink on the range finder reminds me of rail crossing lights.
Great video 😀. I have one coming in post...wife got for me (Hasbro). Now I need to build a inexpensive cosplay setup 😀.
Awesome! That's an awesome wife right there! Cheers to both you guys!
Excellent review, very knowledgable. I cant wait for my helmet to arrive, and watching this has only increased my fanboy excitement.

I'm glad to hear you like it! Enjoy it, man!
Side by side one have little more better paint detail but only noticeable side by side can’t wait get black series mando helmet
Indeed. The EFX definitely has a more complex level of detail... but it's also substantially more expensive. So, it's the type of thing you need to decide, 'is it worth it'? Or just be a twerp like me, and buy both. 🤣🤣. Thanks for watching!
I have the new boba fett helmet. It’s a pretty sweet item
Brilliant review thanks, really fair and objective comparisons!
Thanks so much. I just try to share what I know and can observe from the helmets!
Nice work here! I can appreciate the differences but I'm not a hardcore collector of props, so Hasbro's helmet will fit the bill nicely.
Ebob Hazard honestly yours looks much less noticeable than mine, but hey the defects might be slightly rare someday?
Thanks for the comparison in this and the other video...because of the great comparison I ordered the Black Series helmet, and I'm looking forward to getting it! The EFX version goes for around £600 here in the UK, whereas the Black Series version goes for just over £100!!!

Awesome helmet collection, enjoyed your video!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I appreciate you watching the video!
Jeez! Look at the difference in height of the EFX visor. The left side opens to a much wider point before it runs down the face.
After getting the Hasbro, I've been very let down by the drab paint job. Looks worse in person IMO that online.
I got two Hasbros for Christmas from two different people lol, so selling them both to help fund an EFX.
Those are sick! These are needs in my collection for sure!
I’m really impressed with the black series boba helmet 🤔 great value for the dollars
Great video. How did you remove helmet liner on black series? Difficult? Easy? Thanks
Very helpful and informative video. Helped me make up my mind for sure, thanks!
Excellent video thanks. i just got the Black series today, love it :)
Oh, awesome! I'm glad you dig it!
So, basically the $119 Hasbro is the one to get. I love the interior of the Hasbro helmet better.
I would say, if you get it, you likely won't be disappointed. Also, just of note: Hasbro just put up for sale today on Hasbro Pulse the version featured in the Mandalorian, but it isn't scheduled to ship until January 2022.
Which is better, the original helmet or the refurbished
The EFX visor is purposely asymmetrical, one eye slit wider than the other, I guess the story is battle damaged it? The cheapest EFX I've found is $400, and I ordered a Black series for $90, but won't get it for while.
Yea, I only know the asymmetry was present in the original helmet because like all other Star Wars props, they were all hand made. And yes, EFX did capture that. That's awesome you managed to find the Black Series helmet for only $90! I had to pay full retail.
how many heads you got lol
nice comparision mate but for price the black series is killing it with their helmets
I perfer to buy the Hasbro Black Series helmets to display. They look REALLY clean as a display item.
Yes! I love the Black Series helmets, too. I own several of them and feel like each new one, they set the bar higher than the last. I already have my Din Jarin helmet on order.
@@ebobhazard I can’t wait to get my Nerf blaster that I have on order! I also get helmet stands off Amazon! Good investment.
So, I honestly don't have any info about any unannounced merchandise but I can tell you Hasbro has a repainted Black Series helmet coming with the paint job from the end of Mando S2, often called the "Boba Fresh" look. www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/145476
It's the same mold but with the updated paint job.
Nice collection especially with the table top ❤
i really want the efx but my ocd gets triggered when i look at the disproportional visor lol
@@ebobhazard I think it still bothers me less than the bigger visor on the Hasbro. Just does not look nearly as menacing.

Mostly but I have some other (mostly) Star Wars and Ghostbusters movie props. But I've been collecting Boba Fett since I was a kid.
Whoa! I love that table!
Thanks! It's from Regal Robot!
If you had to choose one which would it be.
The EFX would win. It has the metal parts, the damage effects are clearer. If cost isn't an issue, definitely EFX.
@@ebobhazard yeah I want to get a better version now. Just tried it on. I want one that is made of actual metal and tough materials.
Do you think that it is true that they used a 3D scan of the original helmet to make the black series helmet?
I think so. I know those are Hasbro's claims and it is super close to the cast helmet. I have no real reason to disagree with that.
Hey! I really love Star Wars and boba fett. Should I get the helmet?
If you're a fan, I'd say so! The BS helmet is getting pricey on the secondary market... so if you find it, "in the wild", I think it would be tough to pass up on!
@@ebobhazard Thanks! I’ve been saving up and have enough money. I’m just not that sure. I’m prob going to wait until Christmas
Now compare all 5!! I’m too intrigued
It looks like the colors of the dome/cheeks and mandibles are very muted. Some people say they based the color on what the original mask looks like now instead of what it looked like back in the day. What do you think?
Should I get a boba fett or stormtrooper hasbro helmet?
I totally love my Hasbro ESB Boba Fett helmet
From certain angles it seems like the Black Series rangefinder is a bit shorter. Is that actually the case? I can't tell for sure
They're nearly identical. I just put a measuring tape to them.
You probably won’t get this but for play uses which would I choose
As in cosplay? Either one would work for a good Boba costume, though the Efx is a bit closer. However, the Efx would not be 501st approved because it has visible gaps between the sections. If that doesn't help, let me know.

Given the price and the fact it is mass produced by a toy company, it is a great helmet to have in a collection.
Ebob Hazard thanks a lot for all that info! 👍🏻
Yup, agreed. For the price, you can't beat the Black Series. It looks great. I'm glad you enjoyed the comparison! thanks for watching it!
I might be wrong, but I think that this dude might like Boba Fett.
It depends greatly upon a certain point of view.
Looks like someone likes Boba Fett a bit huh... :)
Maybe you would like Battlefront Commander mod for the Empire at War. It allows to play Galactic conquest for the Mandalorians :)
Btw any ideas if you can remove the targeting antenna after you put it in on Hasbro helmet? I was trying to remove it but it holds tight and Im afraid I will break something :/
Just got mine delivered yesterday
