I too am a new caravanner (2023) and looked for guidance mainly through your channel, from setting up to draining down for winter. I was so sad when I thought you were stopping your UA-cam videos but started following you on Instagram. Your videos are not only helpful but your advice is very clearly given. My husband does not use social media but even he knows who you are through me! Merry Christmas and a happy new year and look forward to your 2025 videos. 🎄 🎅🏻 🎄
Dan, this is fantastic! We are planning on doing some interior freshen-up on our older caravan over the winter, and this would finish it off nicely. Thanks for all the links and a great video. 👍
Brilliant, really glad its helped. A chap of your capabilities will have this installed and looking great in no time. I think lights behind the pelmet will look great as an ambient light source. Take care D
Dan, Just WOW can i hire you out to do mine? Flipping well good job ya done there! inspiration to us all who's not confident in doing DIY projects without any direction.
I fitted some dimmable spotlights under the shelf in our lounge area. quite a simple job and well worth the effort. I used the existing wiring so was even easier than I expected. My next job will be to have two overbed spots using similar lights. It would also be useful to have some LED strip-lights under the edge of the bed for night time use, so your instructional video will be viewed again at a later date, Thanks Dan ! You continue to inspire me with your ideas and simple methods of installation.
Hi Dan, been following you for a while and have learnt so much from your posts! We now have a Bailey Alicanto Grande 2, Porto which we love, but has the same cheap looking lighting. Could I ask where you purchased the replacement system and how much it cost? I apologise if this is cheeky, but love your result. I am already planning to fit the remote temperature sensor as the standard one is way off… Well done. Just FYI based on previous posts, on older caravans I managed to follow sat nav installs and much more. Just miss your site visits, had a great trip to Cheddar based on one of them.
Thank for the video gives me a confidence boost to add lights to my van keep the videos coming. Hope you and your lovely family have a great Christmas and New year all the best for 2025 Andrew and Donna 🎄
Great work! We have a Series 5 Unicorn Vigo, and this looks ideal to install on that, as can never get the lighting just right on an evening. Job for the spring for me 👍🏻 Really enjoy watching your modification/upgrade videos, just means my to do list gets longer with each video 🤣 Keep up the great work!
A job well done, Dan. We have a couple of factory fitted low-level leds, which we leave on all night in case of a toilet visit. For anyone that doesn't have that facility, a strip of leds and bedroom designated controller at a low lighting level could serve that purpose well.
Nice video dan we have 2023 Cabrera looking to do lighting just a quick one did you manage to get front blinds done we are still waiting on warranty claim nearly a year nw
To make the existing ones dimmable, you need to check that the LED strip is capable of managing dimming. If they're anything like mine (controlled off a basic single pole switch) then it's unlikely they'll be dimmable. Good job though, and interesting to see the final result. I look forward to the awning version!
That’s a good point. However, this controller varies brightness (in single colour) via PWM - so it makes it universal for any single colour led strip. Sadly it’ll look rubbish on camera due to its flickering. 👍
It would be worth using heat shrink with adhesive inside. I have made some similar Led setups and the LED strip pulled out of the heat shrink, I then used the sticky heat shrink which has not pulled off.
Where did you go, last time you appeared in my feed you were looking at waterfalls and buying gins! The beeps on that controller I hope you can turn off they may become annoying, acetone (nail varnish remover) may have made removing the old glue easier. Nice look in the end well done

Very inspiring Dan. Your how-to videos have been so useful over recent years as we were completely new to caravans. Keep up the good work 👏

Good one mate. Sal is in hospital again. Looks like another Xmas in the trenches. Poor devil. Hope you are both well.

Nice job, Dan. Looks cracking. Elddis Avantes have some very poor lighting so you’ve definitely motivated me to correct it!
I’m really glad it’s inspired you to give it a go. 👍

Ha, we’re still here ! Done lots since Brecon. The sound isn’t that loud in real life, it’s quite subtle. 👍
Nice job Dan
Thank you. 🙏
