#1 Most Important iPhone PRIVACY Setting (You Need To Know This!)

- Some apps track you everywhere you go. David & David made a TikTok video about how to change this #iPhone privacy setting, and TikTok removed it. Conspiracy? You be the judge. 🤣
All we did was to show people how to stop apps - in that case, TikTok - from tracking you across other apps and websites. This setting is so important to Facebook that they took out full page ads in the New York Times, Washington Post, and other print newspapers just to try to stop Apple from implementing it. And if they're that mad about it, it must be good - for you!
This feature was introduced in iOS 14.5, so make sure your iPhone is up to date before you dive in. If it isn't, you can update to the latest version of iOS in Settings → General → Software Update.
If you decide you want to allow some apps to track you after you change this setting, you can always change your mind by going to #Settings → #Privacy → #Tracking.

Big fan of your postings, being almost in my 70’s I struggle with most of the finer points with the security on my iPhone. So you guys form a big part of my learning curve. One recurring problem I do have is that I find my Home Screen buzzing along with apps ready to delete, this is alarming as well as annoying. Can I dial down the screen sensitivity or what is a fix?
Hi Peter, one thing that might help is to adjust your iPhone's Hold Duration setting. This setting changes the amount of time your iPhone will take to recognize a touch as an action. If you increase the hold duration, your screen might take longer to react to your touch and feel less sensitive.
To adjust this setting, head to Settings -> Accessibility -> Touch -> Touch Accommodations. Then, flip the switch labelled Hold Duration on. Then, press the Plus (+) icon to increase the Hold Duration. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

Good video. I also turn off all locations, because when I need them I can “waste” my time turning the app that I MAY need to use, and then turn the Locations setting off and do a reset.

I NEVER want to be tracked and yes it's disturbing, as there are more ways it happens that most people realize. Before, I even denied all the random ads on facebook until they started to get cranky and blasted me...lol So I try to maintain a balance ....

Best advice is to not rush when setting up your device, take your time and disable everything you can at first. You can always toggle them on later if you need to.

Respect to you both. Other You-tubers say to keep it on in order for it to work properly. Are you saying to turn it off completely in order to avoid tracking 100% of the time? BTW, you all are awesome!
This one setting isn't going to eliminate all tracking on your iPhone - that setting doesn't exist. But it's one of the bigger ones in terms of personal privacy. If Facebook is spending millions to fight it, it must be important!
