I am drooling over those beautiful yarns behind you. I love the fact that you do talk about the type of yarns you are using or what you have purchased. This is the only way some of us will ever get to find those. Aside from what you mentioned, I would love to also see how you knit, the tools you are using (especially the type of needles that you are using), etc. It does not have to be a tutorial per se or a review of a product. I'm fairly new to the knitting world and am always on the hunt for things... LOL... I buy my yarns at a big box store but sometimes I will treat myself and go to my LYS and purchase my yarns there. I would love to start incorporating fingering weight yarns and mohair. Maybe once I am more confident in my knitting skill, I will be able to do that. I can't read patterns well and this is one of the reasons why I don't purchase patterns. I tend to follow a video tutorial. The sweater you're wearing is beautiful. This is on my bucket list this year (to learn how to knit a fair isle pattern). I've been watching a lot of videos on how to knit fair isle patterns but my brain and hands will not cooperate... hahaha... I enjoyed this video of yours. Thank you, Aro. 😊
Stephanie, thank you! It’s still weird hearing my voice when I watch the video before uploading 😅 but I’ll hopefully get used to it. I’m so glad you enjoyed this episode 💖
I absolutely loved your first episode and will now watch the others to catch up! I can totally relate to that feeling of hating listening to yourself, but you sound amazing, you look amazing, and your content is so inspiring! I can't wait to hear all the things you mentioned, test knitting, stash and whatever else you want to share! Happy knitting Aro! x
So nice to have you back.....your Mom would be so happy that you did that for your brother and father...family is so important. Happy early birthday! My birthday month is June so I did some shopping online for yarn as well. My family doesn't appreciate my hobby, so I need my own celebration as well! Just looking and holding yarn brings me such joy as well! I would be so happy to see you in "person" as well. :) Sometime could you talk about how you blend yarns so you don't get striping and color pools? Those are gorgeous yarns you chose for yourself...I will need to "extend" my birthday month. Life is hard sometimes and doing what makes you feel good is so important. Losing your Mom in December will be hard since things that occur around holidays have an especially hard effect on your body. Maybe do a December "treat yourself month" will help this year especially. You are a wonderful daughter and I look forward to your next chat!!! Stay well and enjoy every moment of your life. Hugs, Sandy Don't every worry about NOT editing your podcast...so nice to see it Real....
I too heard about you from the Knit Ink podcast and LOVE your video chats! I like that you are "real" and not so scripted and edited. Just getting into one of your true crime podcasts...great story teller! I don't know how you have the time to knit so much while being an attorney, but kuddos to you! I really loved your chat with the sweaters you knit in 2020....you have such a great sense of style and color choices....so inspiring. I need to check out that sweater where you learned to catch extra long floats by a crochet type method. I am always wanting to learn something new and that is intriguing. I have knitted for a long time but mostly all small projects...I love doing color work and have an "extreme colorwork" cardigan WIP yet to finish. I am a senior and live alone with my 2 dogs, so the knitting Vlogs have really kept me company during Covid. My nearest yarn store is 40 miles away, but I have a stash that is "a yarn store". I do enough damage online shopping. Seeing all your sweater makes me want to try a simpler color work sweater that I could finish. When I did live near a yarn store, I would keep taking classes just to keep learning, hence so many WIPs. As a suggestion, would you consider picking a sweater and have like a Podcast KAL to keep us going and maybe share some of your techniques on picking up for the sleeves etc. I really like the neck finish you showed on that white sweater....tricks like that to make a garment look more finished. You mentioned you are designing something so maybe that could be a KAL? I know a lot of people are against Ravelry and I don't go on Instagram or I don't get anything done. Anyway, I just need to watch 1 more episode and I will be caught up. Thank you for sharing your time with us! I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom, I know that is so hard, but over time it will get better and you will remember the good times and just know she is watching over you. When I lost my Dad 8 years ago, a day doesn't go by that I don't think about him, but I promise it will get easier. Take Care, Sandy P.S. I have dog hair everywhere too....
I'm thinking for the Suburban stitcher yarn, The Party Top! It's a dk pattern I think, but stranded with mohair, could work : ) You are adorable by the way !
SO HAPPY TO have found you through Knit Ink. I am so discouraged by all the sock knitting on everyone's channels. Admire them but don't want to knit something people barely see. I love sweaters and hats (occasionally scarves). thank you so much for putting this podcast together. Future podcasts on your stash, knitting gadgets, fit, and all analysis of test knitting would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Anita! I'm so glad you found my channel with Natasha's help! I've seen some very pretty socks but I personally don't find the act of making them appealing. Rest assured you'll be seeing LOTS of garments on my channel! Thank you for all these great ideas!
so far 8.4k views, many more than 5 😆 starting from ep 1 finally, love hearing you talk about things while I knit! I've got a lot of catch up on, I hope you have an episode on indie dyers, you always pick beautiful yarns 🥰
Yes, please go through your stash. I'm always interested in the different colourways people choose and maybe combinations you put together for shawls etc. 😊
You are just fine to listen to and your knitwear is beautiful! I have admired the pattern you are wearing since it came out, but your version is especially stunning! Hope to see much more of you and to see more of your work!
Loved you video so about to look and hope that you've made more. Also you have a pretty impressive yarn stash, it must have cost a fortune. I showed my husband to justify my own stash LOL.
Hi Donna! Yes, I have quite a few more videos so I hope they're still enjoyable for you. And yes my stash is QUITE the investment. I'm so glad I can be the person people use to justify their own stashes!! We all need one!
Hi Aro! It was so much fun watching this first episode - it felt just like listening to a friend! I can't wait for more episodes, and love all your future episode ideas, but especially talking about test knitting.
Loved your podcast! Your knits are beautiful! Heard about you via Knit Inc. I'm happy with my Stanwood Swift & Stanwood ballwinder both ordered from Amazon.
I love my Stanwood ball winder too! My swift is an Amish one from Amazon. I live in an apt and I love that it unfolds into a two or three inch wide vertical space when not in use. (And seconds to put back out).
Hello, I’m glad I found your channel. I want to learn how to knit. I love to crochet and been crochet for 20 years. Hopefully I can learn and knit a sweater from you here. ❤️😁
Hi there...heard about you from Knit Ink podcast - I'd love to know more about the test knitting process. I love your colors and the sweater you are wearing!
What a wonderful first show! I found you through Leslie of The Knotty Knitter’s Podcast. She gave you such a warm and wonderful review I had to come watch! Off to binge watch your shows to catch up!
What a great entry to the knitting podcast world. I’m looking forward hearing more about how you got into test knitting. I have thought about making my own podcast as well and this just made me little bit more excited about it! I loved that you were so real! 🤩
Oh, and I'd love to hear about test knitting! I'm a noobie tester (tested only a baby sweater, yet) so anything about your experience, how you got into it, what you like and look for about it, what makes a good tester in your opinion, how to be as helpful as possible to the designer, what to avoid maybe, or anything related to this topic really! 🥰
Love your 1st Podcast you are beautiful and great podcast to the point. Love your yarn colors too. Would love to see a link to the provisional cast on collar Love it and the mohair sweater
It’s probably too late but the yarn shop called “pick up every stitch” in Mt Kisco NY carries Gregoria Fibers yarns! Would love to see more on your test knits! Also your stash!! Thx!
Thank you so much for the tip, Suzanne!! If you haven't yet already, Ep. 2 of my podcast shows more of my stash and I talk about current testknits in every (non-true crime) episode!
I really liked your video and your style!! It's so fun seeing all your tests in progress. And now that you mentioned you're an aggressive knitter - I think I have to see that! 😂
I would love to hear all about the process of test knitting. I have heard other podcaster’s mention it but not in great detail. Also, I always love a good sweater parade!
Subscribed ! I didn't even wait until the end of your video because I just love your energy and the way you talk about your projects. I'm glad to meet new faces in the knitting community. BTW, I'm french and you said "Jolies Fleurs" just right ;-) Now back on to your video and the next ones!
It was such a lovely first episode! I absolutely loved seeing your sweaters and I added a bunch of them already in my Ravelry faves haha 😍 can't wait to watch your next episodes ❤️
I heard about you on Knit Ink (episode 16). Are you in Salt Lake City? I'm in West Jordan. Totally looking forward to following you and both of your podcasts - love True Crimes too!
Congratulations on starting your UA-cam channel! Loved this first episode. You have a beautiful aesthetic and you come off so naturally even if you’re nervous :-) would love to know more of what you look for when selecting a pattern to test knit. Thanks for sharing!
I love this! It reminds me when we would meet up and knit. The audio visual is awesome! Love to get a tour of your yarn stash and any tips or tricks you have to get faster or stay motivated on sleeve island. Definitely would love to hear any tips you have for color work.
Congrats on your first episode! So happy to meet you! :) looking forward to see your stash, your huge collection of sweaters and how you knit aggressively 😂
It's crazy how little yarn knitting uses. You said you used less then 400 yards to make one of your knits?...whow you can't crochet a sweater with less than 1000 yards (on average). How much yarn do you use on average to knit a sweater?
I've heard you mention commercial yarn a couple times. Why do you not buy commercial? Is it a quality thing, a support our fellow knitters, ethical ect? Just curious.
yes yes yes all the things that you mentioned talking about is what you should talk about! lol definitely have a knit with us section ^_^ you're awesome and i love all the things you make! i follow you on IG, that's how i found your podcast! smile_hard ;-)
Just found your channel and I am HERE for listening to anyone obsessed with yarn! 💖

I found your podcast recently and I love it! I am going back in time and watch all your youtube videos. Your choice of patterns and yarns are great.
I looooooove your video! You DON'T sound or move weird... ;)
"Aggressively feminine without being absurdly pink"... that is PERFECT! 🥰
Stephanie, thank you! It’s still weird hearing my voice when I watch the video before uploading 😅 but I’ll hopefully get used to it. I’m so glad you enjoyed this episode 💖
You have The Most Beautiful stash. The colours are so soothing.
I love all your pattern and yarn color picks.....

ok, now I need to see how you knit "aggressively"! Great first video! Congrats! :)
Haha I think I just knit... less peacefully (?) than most people. My friends and family are the ones who say it's downright aggressive
Lovely to meet you and share in your obsessions. I enjoyed all that you showed….both designs and yarn. I’m happy to see more of the same xox
Hi Sue, thank you so much for watching my video! I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed it 💖

I'm sorry to say but I won't be doing any tutorials on this channel 😅 There are lots of really great resources on UA-cam if that's your goal, however!

Yes! I lived in DFW for 4 yrs, and Austin for 7!
