As someone who is also super pale (ex: I was on the bball team in highschool and a kid in my class came up to me one day and said "I didn't know you played bball. But I saw someone glowing when the team was practicing and realised it was you") your comment gave me a lot of ideas for the future
i have a super pale skin too!! Im getting a tattoo in july and..i didn't want black ink because.. i feel like it wouldn't suit me super well compared to other inks... i have cold undertones (am pink, little piggie :D) so.. just like you it did cross my mind to get blue tattoos cuz they are GORGEOUS and i know it would look great on me, but im going for brown instead! I plan to be heavily tattooed, i think brown will look amazing on my pale pinky skin!
That’s probably going to look really good. Depending what you decide on. I hope the artist you pick is good with detail. Otherwise it might look prison-ney. 😮😂
💙 can you a video on hand poke tattoos? i’ve noticed that hand poke is becoming a popular method of tattooing among professional artists and wanted to know the pros/cons 😄
I've always heard that the best way to get a tattoo to last a long time is to give it a black outline, since the properties of black ink specifically keeps the colored ink from spreading. Obviously a lot of people use different styles now, but for my tattoos personally I like them to have a traditional thick outline as I like the way it looks and it makes me feel more confident about their longevity. That said, I'm curious about the longevity of all-blue tattoos over the course of 60 years or more. Those blue tigers are gorgeous and I'd love to get one someday. 💙
One thing that's really interesting about tattoos here in Korea is that there's a ridiculous amount of copycats and trends, which on the surface is really annoying, but an interesting side effect is that it results in both a lot of people trying to jump on trends while also putting a really unique spin on them, and in people really upping their game in terms of technique. The artists you chose for this video are a good example of both. The blue looks really cool to me. 💙
Love all the blue ink tattoos! Can't wait to submit my tattoo. Got it a few weeks ago and have been wanting to show you! Your videos have really helped me learn a lot about tattoos.💙💙💙
@@liesjelualockse6377 ok wtf is wrong with you. There is nothing about this that is inherently dutch. Nothing. The dutch were some of the last to jump on the blue porcelain train. It's like saying pizza is from New York. Just because it's popular there and they made it their own, doesn't mean it originated there. Jesus fuck
Ah this is so cool to see! I specialize in delft blue tattoos. I work in the center of Delft and am also a Delft porcelain painter. So nice to see blue tattoos get appreciated!
I've never been a fan of color tattoos. My preference has always been black, and I've planned to have my tattoos only be in black ink. But seeing how beautiful blue tattoos look, I'm starting to reconsider. Blue is my favorite color, and now I'm thinking blue and black tattoos would look gorgeous 😍 I may even get some of my current tattoos redone to add some blue- we'll see lol. Thanks for this video!
Nice topic and I see you did research on pigments, so I'd just like to point out that Prussia is not the same as Persia. You have the correct spelling in the video (Prussian blue), you just read it as Persian. :) Prussia was a German state at the time and the pigment was discovered/created in Berlin. Cheers.
been thinking about getting a one-color tattoo for a while and i think blue ink might be it! love the different tones and shades in all of these. thanks for doing this 💙
💙 I was considering getting a black ink tattoo but now I've seen these, I really want a blue one! And thanks for mentioning the concerns about toxicity, I'll remember to do my research.
I adore the blue ink tattoos, they're beautiful! I loved the butterfly and sea dragon and the different tones they used. I also loved the cat with the blue flowers, that looks like China porcelain. 💙
When I saw the mention of soltattoo, I agree with the delicacy of the blue onto the designs! I really love my blue tattoo, but it's still definitely worth knowing what's being put on my body. Thank you for this educational video again!
I have a lot of blue 💙 in my new tattoo (though not only blue) and I just love how it looks. It just pops so nicely. I'd love to get an all-blue one in the future.
I adore blue tattoos! I always loved how in pinup tattoos they do blue tattoos often (if the character has them) and love seeing how popular it is getting these monochromatic designs!
While I probably won’t get any tattoos any time soon, (money + still figuring out who I am,) I’m currently throwing around the idea of getting most of (if not all of) my tattoos in blue and/or brown. Blue is such a striking and unique colour in nature, while in contrast, brown is a lot more subtle and not too overpowering. Depending on if I like the colours on my own skin I can see myself possibly combining the two to get something truly fun and unique
💙💙💙 Can you do one on UV/Blacklight tattoos? Didn't even know about blue ink tattoos til I came across your video! You video was super informative !! 💙💙💙 Bout to go watch more of your videos 😊
Im sad that you never mantion how blue ink looks when healed. Because i really want one but I don’t want it to turn another color or anything! Can you add this to your next video about blue ink?
Ink doesn't turn to another colour when healed, it generally just fades. I guess she didn't include pics bc there weren't too many healed pics of only blue tattoos, but you could see how blue heals/ages just by looking at other colour tattoos that have blue in it via google images
The only color “changes” you would see once healed would be the your skin tone overlaid on the ink. For example, white on me turns instantly yellow the minute it is even remotely healed because I’m very yellow toned. Black turns green-ish (not so noticeable) so i assume blue would turn turquoise/green Basically keep in mind your skin tone when doing 1 color tattoos
💙 I did a relatively big one on my inner arm last may and I’ll do another one on my other arm by the same artist in october. Both in muted blue, love it so much! (Specially since I’m quite pale) I also consider doing some emerald only tattoos, deep and vibrant green, on my legs. They’ll go well with my blue ones. I didn’t knew about the toxicity of the blue tone but since I’m working in art with chemicals I find it quite fitting haha Thanks for the great work!
💙 I really want my next tattoo to be a blue ink one by the artist Patricia Shim. I'm a black ink lover, but line tattoos in just red or just blue are so pretty and interesting to me 🤩✨
Do you know anything about the longevity of blue tattoos? I can't find any information online about how long lasting they are. I'm worried about them fading and bleeding out in a matter of a year or so.

Lol here in Russia prisoners used to do tattoos in prison using burnt rubber from shoes mixed with water instead of ink. Those tattoos turned blue within couple of years. This is why here in Russia these new blue tattoo ink will hardly be popular. Because of strong association with prison tattoos
@@liesjelualockse6377 yeah we have that stuff here in Germany as well, Meissen is famous for it. But apparently it was invented in Mesopotamia, then the chinese perfected it.
