Browntable really enjoy Gotham a lot so imagine my surprise when they announced a Netflix show called the Bat and the fact it's going to focus on batman but more Dark knight than Gotham has me excited for sure!!

I take pride in sticking with this show since the VERY beginning! Like Agents of Shield.. it definitely got better with each season! Both shows' most recent seasons tho had their flaws, especially Bruce's annoying emo-behavior throughout majority of the 4th Season. But unlike Agents of Shield, I'm excited for the final season which will be mostly about Batman. As for AoS, the Season finale disappointed me as it had nothing to do with Infinity War's ending, and I'm not really looking forward to their 6th (final?) Season
if you were expecting an infinity war tie in, then that's your fault for setting ur expectations too high. The finale was written as a series finale before it was picked up for a sixth season.
I only stuck with it when I saw Jerome in the Maniax trailer after seeing the viral clip of him in the interrogation room from Season 1.
Bratty Bruce served his purpose as a character, and I hated him! AOS final season was a bit of a letdown, idk how S7 will be, but Gotham's final season too felt a bit rushed. Especially the last ep, and surprise it wasn't that much about Batman (ik you wrote the comment before the season).
As for AOS, I think they went the alt. timeline route like they changed the present and stuff.
Season 1: a well written mafia show
Season 2: a dramatic experience
Season 3: a slow yet entertaining mystery
Season 4: FUCKING EXCELLENT
Season 5: disappointing yet slightly satisfying

Can't get into any of the DC shows but I LOVE Gotham. Amazing show agree it's underrated and more people should watch it.
Overall this is one of my favourite shows.
Each Season has it's rough storylines, in S4 it clearly was the Babs x Ra's storyline...ugh, that was a real drag.
S1 was overall the worst in my opinion, mostly because of the rather episode to episode structure and not a cohesive storyline in the season, except for Penguin.
And S1 was basically the prequel to Gotham itself, since many main characters didn't get their personas and motivations until S2.
how I see it, season 1 was insecure. They didn't want to make it that bad just in case it was too violent. But now oh my it's great and dark. Just how Batman prequels should be
This show is really good. It is probably my favorite show on tv. I'm really excited for season 5 with No Man's Land and the bat signal. Great video!

I'm genuinely in love with this show now, I am on season 3 at the moment and the first half of season 3 was slightly tedious but i'm loving the second half. Overall I enjoyed the character development of the villains in season 1 the most. Jerome's comeback was also amazing, Bruce's development is by far my favourite part of season 3.

The show has the best versions of almost every character, except ra’s and the league. Favorite bruce, joker ( regardless of the lies they tell you about his name) Alfred, Salina, Jim, etc. Nygma’s riddler transformation was golden, and I never liked the penguin until he became my favorite of season one. Even zsaez is great and he’s not in it that much. I actually really liked how the first season could fit into any Batman story, only really changing stuff in season 2. It introduced origins for scarecrow, red hood, bane, joker, riddler, etc. the idea to have jim be the detective working on Bruce’s case and Salina being a witness was perfect. It is a great character driven story that is surprisingly good to the comics in a refreshing way, making the best versions of the characters in different situations. It is way better than the CW shows by a long shot, actually developing conflict and characters instead of reusing the same moral conflict with the characters randomly backtracking development or just changing entirely. @@plastichouseplant That is not Gotham tho, Gotham shows how the villains become villains and how batman becomes batman. If we start from season 5 it would take 1 season and he'd be fully batman. Which we have plenty of movies of.

I just finished season 3 and i love it
The 1st season was rough, but it picked up for me in Season 2.
I miss Gotham I know there’s talent behind the new Batman show and movies but I honestly don’t care as much because Gotham was building up each character to become who they are the comics. I wish they kept Gotham going because it would be so cool to see David Mazouz slowly graduate into becoming Batman without having to skip 10 years. The Bruce Wayne in Gotham’s universe has a clear story and transition into Batman whereas in every other superhero show or movie they just flash back and forth between childhood and adulthood which does not connect you with that character as much because we just skipped like ten years into the future and now the kid is a very different adult. I just loved how Gotham showed each character slowly become the villain or hero we know them as. Plus it has my favorite joker of all time. I’m so sad it ended :( they should just continue the show from when bruce left to train so a couple seasons later it will be like the season 5 finale instead of having to skip to that point

season 5 was really crazy. i actually really liked how penguin and the riddler have this strong bond at the end. one of my favorite scenes ever is when penguin gets shot and riddler feels regret not helping him.

CW memorable villains: Ragdoll, Trickster and Captain Cold it's also important to note that all these characters are on here for a very particular reason: Ragdoll because of Troy James's contortion, Trickster because Mark Hamill and Captain Cold because he was a FUCKING PROTAGONIST in Legends Of Tomorrow
Now I've only watched up to season 3 episode 8 of Gotham now that being said let's take a look at Gotham memorable villains: Penguin, Edward Nygma, Jerome Valeska, Dr. Gerald Crane Fish Mooney, Butch, Hugo Strange, Barbara Kean, Jervis tetch... I mean I can go on if you want me to but I think I've made my point

My favourite thing about this is how the tone is so consistent and riddler and penguin are really good
I skipped the entire first season and started from the second season. I have no regrets. And don't have plans of watching the first season for now. But the show is very interesting.
I myself started with Season 4 itself and immediately fell in love with the show.

One thing this show has going for it is that the city looks different from the CW shows. With at least Supergirl and Flash the cities never felt very unique, they just have a few important locations and some different places that’s only there for one scene or a story arc. With Gotham the location feels important to whose these characters are.

gotham is one of my favorite shows for sure! what i like the most is that it feels timeless. someone in 20 years could watch the show while understand and enjoy what they're watching. it's really hard to tell when the story takes place since characters dress like they could be in the 50s, but they also use computers and cellphones (but not smartphones!). they don't make any pop-culture references, which could be funny at the time, but they don't age well. i can really appreciate something that is more of a where, than a when.
I really agree with you on Mr. Freeze. The problem with changing the origin so that Nora dies is that he doesn’t really have a reason to keep doing anything anymore. He has no goal or motive that drives him to do his terrible things, at least as far as I can tell, beyond the possibility that he likes to do evil stuff. While that can and has been an interesting interpretation of the character before, I don’t really think they handled it too well. I honestly don’t know why I’m going on for so long. Freeze isn’t even my favorite villain they had on the show. My favorite was undoubtedly The Riddler. I thought Cory Michael Smith was a perfect casting choice, and I really liked the relationship he had with Penguin (though I didn’t like how they tried to kill each other for nearly two whole seasons). But that is not to discredit nearly every other villain on the show, from Scarecrow to “Joker” to Zsasz. This show is fantastic, and I’m sad it’s over.

Favorite scene? Mine is season 1, the car scene where the two guys talk about Fish Mooney. No one says anything about what is actually happening, but the way it ends tells you everything you need to know. Great scene.
I watched Gotham 2 years ago until the point in Season 3, I think, when Poison Ivy fell into the water. I got bored and gave up. I'm hyped to rewatch it after this though, your videos make everything about the subject seem interesting.
This video perfectly summarizes why I love Gotham. I'm only on season 4 of Arrow and Season 2 of Flash, but I'm already getting tired of it tbh and I'm not looking forward to having to watch Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl just to understand the major plot changes that happen in the crossover episodes. I think the reason I was drawn to Gotham initially is because it reminded me of Arrow at its peak back in Seasons 1 and 2. It's simple, it's not part of a convoluted extended universe, it's just Gotham.
Gordon is such a good character. I'm always so proud of him ❤️ I loved Fish too and I was glad when her story continued past s1. Just a good, bingeable show. Glad you mentioned Firefly, I was so surprised when I realized who she was. Also still upset about Essen's death, she was a good cop.

I normally see people hate on Gotham, so this video was a good change of pace. Gotham is a good series. A specially like how the show makes Penguin. Fucking Penguin, an underdog. It's interesting to see certain characters interact before they become villains i.e Penguin and Riddler. Though I can't say I cared much for Fish.

the show is amazing. way too much criticism. if i had to rank the seasons i would go s4, s3, s2, s5, s1. i liked every season. i didn’t love the finale but i didn’t hate it at all. i definitely recommend a watch.
I love Gotham and I'm looking forward to Season 5, but I have a few bones to pick with it:
- Almost no one stays dead and everyone always gets a miraculous cure when they get seriously injured or mutilated
- The CG sucks at times (like when people get hit with laughing gas)
- Gordon's whole harem is annoying, and most of the doctor chick's arc is to just be a living guilt trip dispenser
I love the main rogues gallery, though. Mad Hatter, Zsasz, Riddler, Penguin and the Valeska brothers are a treat to watch. Alfred and Bruce's banter can also be really funny and entertaining.
This show actually made me like the Penguin despite me thinking he's annoying in the comics so the show deserves praise for that
My favoraite character is Alvarez. You might not even remember him. He was that one side character that was literally in the series since season 1 all through the last episode. Supprisingly he didn't die. I have know idea how he didn't die.
I love Gotham it's a great tv show.
Honestly, Gotham is just a lot of fun, especially after the first half of season 1. I always laugh at some point of the episode, which can't be said about most shows. It does suffer from pacing issues and some boring arcs, but that's how it is for most shows. At the end of the day, Gotham is probably one of the few shows I'd consider rewatching in its entirety. And I've already rewatched many episodes that I particularly enjoyed.
Something about people running damn near the speed of light and have cool lightning trails that beats dark and groomy shite.
The aesthetic and atmosphere of gotham is similar to the animated series but brought to life, grounded and stylized. I love it.

I couldn't stomach how over the top Fish Moonie acted. Plus there was some really dumb decisions that Jim Gordon did. I wish I could remember what they were but I was one of those 1st season guys.

No problem! The rest of Season 3 after that is good, the start of Season 4 is slow but I personally think it gets better at 4x16 or 4x17 for Season 4.
I completely agree with you. I think I’m season 1, they took their time trying to defy what kind of shoe they wanted to be. But it starts to get really good in season 2 and 3. Some story lines are really cringeworthy and a waste of time. But overall it was a good show. I’ll miss it.
I’ve only ever watched the dark knight trilogy, played all 3 Arkham games and the odd cartoon here and there when I was a kid and I really enjoyed this show.
