What is ctfmon.exe? Should I disable it on Windows10?

A few fraudulent anti-virus and tech-support companies have been trying to present genuine processes in the Windows Task Manager as a virus or malware to fool customers into buying their product or service. One such case is with the process ctfmon.exe or CTF Loader.
Cftmon.exe as explained earlier is a genuine file needed by Microsoft Office. However, many users have reported a virus with the same name. The original file is located in C:\Windows\System32. If a similarly named file is found outside that folder, it could well be a virus or malware.
To check if the file is a virus or a genuine file, right-click on the process in the Task Manager and select Open location. If the location is the original System32 folder, the file is legit and genuine. If not, then you need to run a full system anti-virus scan right away.

don't disable ctfmon.exe its an essential process otherwise you wont be able to type in any text in any Microsoft application (including search bar)

I'm wondering if you can help me on this. Whenever I restart/shutdown my computer, ctfloader is gone and whenever ctfmon isn't active I can't type in search bars such as windows button search bar and folders. I keep having to go back to system 32 and activate ctfmon everytime my computer shuts off.

@@xieese2891 I made an easier way to instantly turn it on with just a button. but by rn I already formatted it so the problems gone

What you can do is press Win+R and type in shell:startup. An explorer window should pop up and you can put cftmon in there so that it'll get activated every time the PC turn on.

What I meant to say is you should put a Shortcut in that folder, not the actual exe.

Can yall help me when i try to play anygame like roblox and fortnite my pc shuts down after 2 to 3 minutes and if i close te application before t shutdown it say ctfmon.Exe hard error and then shuts down
