I just got back from going to 4 thrift stores. Managed to pick up a gorgeous vintage painting in a solid decorative frame in gold and timber. Managed to pick it up for $6. Also got another artwork that I wanted new for $50 and I got it for $3. Crazy. I’m all for mixing old with new. The new furniture I’ve bought looks old with the style. Mixing in vintage brings in soo much interest and richness.

I enjoy your weekly videos and common sense styling tips. Our previous homes had those wonderful nooks and crannies that provided opportunities for personal display. However, we're now in a 1700+ sq ft open concept house that required maximum downsizing. Your tips for cozy environs is very helpful. Blessings!!!!

I love your ideas, so beautiful. I have a small house with many windows which I find problematic for furniture placement e.g. piano & an inherited grandfather clock. Perhaps you could make a video solving design problems with small house sizes? You are very lucky to find great pieces in second hand shops, here in the UK, you have to have a good imagination to repurpose some of the stuff I see in the charity shops.

I love your videos as well as Brookline’s. It’s interesting that you chose duvet in Pebble. I’ve been trying to figure out what is the best color duvet to go with Revere Pewter walls. Would pebble be too pink ? Hope you are loving your new house.
I think a white or ivory cream would look amazing! The pebble could work as an accent but yes it does have pink undertones

Thank you for all the tips. Question, if you have antique brass wall sconces what color of curtain rod can I use? Brass as well ( even if not the same tone) or a completely different colour?
Kristen, do you have a recommendation for a budget friendly neutral comforter? Not a duvet person.
My pet peeve - the automatic shoving of sofas, beds against the walls, under windows.
