This video made me realise the disconnect between my self esteem and what I deserve in my home. When we were getting a new bed my ex said how about a king size. I didn’t realise I deserved one and that they were for posh people (back in the late 90s). Same with getting a new car over a 2nd hand as I’d always grown up with oldies. I’ve worked on my self esteem and now unapologetically working on making a budget friendly classy home for myself and don’t have to compromise with anyone! ❤
You’re not just an interior designer, but a life coach and motivational speaker all in one. I really enjoy watching your channel and want to thank you for all the inspiration.
A woman after my own heart! It's all about being happy and relaxed in your own home, so it's welcoming for Family and friends. Trends can come and go, but a home filled with love and laughter is unbeatable ❤
Love that you showed the birthday decorations. Helps us see the real you, your real everyday life. I love when you show us all the things. Happy birthday to Jack and Landon. I hope they both had a blessed day. The dress is super on you...
It’s a great trend! People are too afraid to express themselves. It’s also refreshing to see how your house is lived in! My house is such a work in progress!
I must say that this is one of the most enjoyable videos you've done. It really connected with me and what I've been doing in my home over the years. Thank you for sharing what you do and emphasizing that others should do what makes them feel good. Brilliant.
Valentina - I've been a fan of yours for a few years now. You've had such an impact on my decorating style. Thank you for all that you do. Will you pls think about doing another video focussing on wall art? What separates classic/unique vs run-of-the-mill/tacky? I wish I could see what is in your downstairs hallway! It looks unique and fabulous!! Love from 🇨🇦
My problem is that I love so many different styles. Can you include an episode of marrying different styles and art. For example I like pop art like Bansky but I also like art that can be in contrast like Afrocentric or Van Gogh. I have an assortment. My style is bit traditional mostly contemporary with a nod to mid century. How do I make it all harmonious but not feel like a museum. Love you and the family and Jack is so sweet and funny.❤
Thank you for so much inspiration. Hubby and I are waiting for Hurricane Milton here in Orlando today. I just made some chocolate covered fruit to snack on like in your video last week! 🖤🖤🖤
I've always bought and loved burgundy and deep, dark colors but not in a Gothic way - more in an accent way. Furs and velvets and wool are all the fabrics and looks I associate with Ralph Lauren. Especially in the 1990s and early 2000s there were such beautiful rooms he did with these colors and fabrics. He also was the first designer I saw that wasn't afraid to incorporate a chrome lamp or something very modern with chunky wood furniture or a small horse sculpture or something more "country" or rustic, which I thought was brilliant and something I've done ever since. As you know, he uses leopard and zebra as well. The first time I walked into the RL store in NYC I just never wanted to leave! My friend I was traveling with wanted to go see this or that touristy thing and I was like - uh...no... I'll just stay here at RL 😂 I'm betting you can relate! I don't own as many RL items as I'd like, but one of my favorite items is a pair of large euro shams (28x28) I have from the late 1990s. It may not sound exciting but these are done in a burgundy thick, stiff velvet with a double grosgrain border flange. OMG!!!! They are of unbelievable quality and I have taken very good care of them. They are perfect for Autumn or the holidays and they are one of my favorite home decor finds ever. ❤ Regardless, I'm happy to see this style again. I was never much for ultra modern or minimalistic, or lighter farmhousy decor. It's funny that in my relationships I despise drama, yet if this style is considered dramatic then I say, bring it on!
Thank you, Valentina!! 🎉I've been waiting for a video like this!! Love the pinecones, too! Meaningful decor, used with intention to tell your story! (Never just a bunch of brand/new/ trendy stuff that all too soon is untrendy!!). Oprah said it best:" Your home should rise up to meet You!"
Love your videos, thank you! I personally only like red or burgundy colors at Christmas time or in my clothing. I do, however, like animal print with neutral colors in my home.
Funny--I decorated my 1994 LR/DR in red w/subtle gold floral overlay (for texture) wallpaper, cream ostrich print down sofa, leopard tapestry thrown over the sofa, and repeated in a shield chair, huge red Persian rug, etc. Everything old is new again! Decorate with what you love! Wish I could send you a picture!
When I saw ‘Out of Africa’ and ‘Brideshead Revisited’ in the 1980’s I definitely had a Decorating Epiphany. My style has been a combination of Laura Ashley, English Country, and Traditional, though I like how the French mix in one or modern pieces to add light and energy to their rooms. Not into a lot of clutter anymore-too difficult to clean around all the stuff!
Basically. It’s dark glam instead of silver or gold as the main element. Now black and red are the main colors. I’m waiting for Exotica’s return! 🤩 I’ve already done a dark Exotica room in my house, with Black Sapphire walls, trim and ceiling and Tanzanite on the window walls. White rugs. Big mirrored elements to reflect the light and exotic accessories to finish the space. It’s a tiny room, too!
I painted my powder room black (with a brown undertone). I love it. I never liked the shower tile (yes, my powder room has a shower) but when I painted the walls black the tile color receded .
Good morning, Valentina! Loved the dress, the color suits your lovely face! I thought about incorporating the color burgundy (you featured this as the new color - forgot who put it out) as part of a mural for a focal wall in the living room. Loved everything else, though I think my fur babies (cats) might not appreciate the fur as much...stay blessed.
What is the excat name of your hardwood flooring? I visited the website you have shared. It is very confusing to find the one you have. I love it! Thanks
Marsala is your color, Val. It has the same warmth that you radiate all around. I have marsala velvet drapes that make me smile. Have paired them with Venetian red glass on the other side of the room. Adds a pop of color to a largely neutral palette.
I don't know, I kind of have been the main character in my life for a while, and my home has been a "hit or miss" experience since my early twenties! 😅
When you said "our homes are the backdrops to the story we're living"... I just really love that. It's like it just sort of "clicked" with me. Great video!
I really don’t understand why designers state opinions about trend colors etc. I’ve had touches of deep red in my home especially living and dining areas. It grounds the space and I love it!
It’s mainly branding for people without any inspiration. Many people can’t imagine what colors look like on a broad scale. They see it in a cool space and get inspired to recreate it in their own home.
I was thinking the other day if everything in your home is a feature piece as I feel it is. I think I was getting them mixed up with the focal point concept where there should be one main focal point and then maybe a lesser one and maybe a lesser one than that. In patchwork I often use an ugly fabric that will make the feature patch shine and it works well and I was thinking that might transfer over to decor however I couldn’t think of a piece in your home that you didn’t love. Today when I saw your video I realised that what I was getting confused on was the main character energy where everyone plays together well and unique in their own way. Paring back and being intentional with colour, decor, layout and furniture is the key. 😊
I love you Valentina your just so beautiful I get so many ideas from you and love how you are always smiling and happy I have 5 kids and 2 dogs lol I can’t have my house with so many beautiful things because I know my two year old can hurt her self but I know one day I will 💞🤭

Love that you showed the birthday decorations. Helps us see the real you, your real everyday life. I love when you show us all the things. Happy birthday to Jack and Landon. I hope they both had a blessed day. The dress is super on you...
"You're creating the backdrop to the incredible story that you're living". So love this, Valentina! Words to live by.
The burgundy and red colors look great on you!
Oh thank you!
I know I can be critical at times but you are by far my favorite designer on youtube! I adore your home and what you have created.

What a wonderful heartfelt video Valentina. Love the little extras that you have incorporated into your home. Never overdone, just simply beautiful.❤
Thank you so much!
Love the homes in It’s complicated and Something’s gotta give. My favourite home on YT is Valentina’s. ❤

Trends = temporary .save your money 💰 go traditional ; " old money " never gets old
Another great video! I love how you always stress that it’s not about keeping up with the trends. And by the way, that dress is adorable on you!
A great video Valentina. Thank you ❤

You touched on my 2 fav Christmas movies “The Family Man” & “The Holiday” maybe that’s why I love them, is for “homeyness”❤
I love how trends rebrand existing styles. Drama, animal prints, fur, bold, and high contrast are all elements of glam.

Love those blankets. Have to say they look better on your furnishings than on Wayfair.
Thank you!
That dress is 🔥! Love it so much. I’m gonna have to check Thread Up.
Love that round table in your master bathroom.
Love, love, love that dress on you! Great colour ❤

My main character energy movie home is Cameron Diaz home in The Holiday! That home has been my inspo since it was released.
Wonderful, inspirational lady. 🥰

That was one of your best. Warm, not about buying things. I just saw "The Family an" for the first time. You're so right.
Thank you so much!
Love the pillows, where can we find them?
😮❤ yay a video from you on Wednesday again 😊😅❤

I can't find the link to the pillow - I really like it!
Please add your nail color to the description to share it here - I NEED it!!
What's your mug? It's so cute!
I've always had red, animal ...
I also am ASID ID!!!over 21y...!!!
Love the powder room. Do you remember what colour you used on the wall?
That sculpture white bowl is beautiful but way out of my price range. I will have to keep a eye out for a dupe 😊
Is the fur blanket in your living room, the Champagne color or Kit Fox color on Wayfair?
Where is the bench on your porch from. ?
Where did you get the curtains in your sun room?😊
And the sectional.
Who makes the tree in the room next to ur dinning room. It has a whiteish bottom. Across from ur sofa, behind u in the video?
Red, zebra print, fur … just made it to be trendy, got a rabbit fur carpet
Nah.. im still stuck in minimalism and modern luxury… 😅
I dislike red, and any animal print. So this is NOT for me.
