YOU GIRLS HAVE SAVED MY LIFE-I FELL INTO DEPRRESSION,and stopped looking after myself, and eating JUNK food-no one cared, except your channel-now i have your book, your videos and buy same food...im learning to cook better, and put me first, not selfish..but naturally normal..xx
Glad you’re back on track looking after yourself, I went through a slump myself, not with bad eating but just not caring for my skin, hair, exercise, etc. . I was taking care of the inside with whole plant foods, but looked like heck on the outside. I’m back on track myself, gave myself a haircut, back to skin care, and getting more exercise than just the regular from running around taking care of the home. 👍🌟keep it going ♥️
When I'm using defatted peanut powder in baking, I reconstitute it with 50/50 blended banana, and water. The banana helps make the cookies feel fattier and softer.
I love how seriously Anne said after the pause: “whoever heard of airborne flour?” With that serious expression 😂😂. I could just hang out with Anne all the time❤❤
Watching your videos with my husband is dangerous!!! When we watched this one, he IMMEDIATELY went to the kitchen and made them!! We are proud to say we only ate 1 “raw cookie” and baked the rest. Of course when we pulled them out of the oven, we ate 4 each!!!😂😂 Best cookies ever!!
My dear grandmother who survived the depression would bake peanut butter cookies for us grandchildren (in the 60’s) saying the criss-cross fork pattern was to represent chopped peanuts on top without the expense of adding them to the cookie. Thanks again for this much healthier version for our family. 🌱🕊💚
I made this recipe with you. Yum! I see why you eat some of the dough! I also added 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips because chocolate and peanut butter are soooo good together!
We always lightly dipped the fork in flour when it started to stick to the cookies. 😊. Remember in the movie You’ve Got Mail, Tom Hanks walks his dog through a cloud of “airborne“ flour from a bagel shop that (he said) “never seems to land”. ❤
I did criss cross on the cookies as a kid making them with my granny. We always wet the fork in between but her cookies weren't healthy. I can't wait to try this recipe thanks ladies. I always loved the comedy and the cooking.❤
I've been making something similar this summer but unbaked. My pb snacks are rolled oats, dates, and peanut butter, blended together then frozen in bite sized pieces. Delicious. Looking forward to trying these next.
Such a clever trick for measuring the peanut butter, thank you. Recipe looks delicious I will def try now that I won't have to soak my cup forever to get the pb off.
I’ve made these cookies this afternoon and have just ‘tested one’, absolutely delicious 😋 Thank you for another delicious recipe and for all your informative and entertaining videos 🙏
I love these cookies. I’ve now made them several times, last batch was made using half date syrup when I ran out of maple syrup - this gave a lovely caramel flavour. I’m making them again today and thinking about rolling them in sesame seeds before I flatten them? Thanks for this great recipe 😊
I love watching your show and have your cookbooks. Have you thought of making/developing recipes with dates rather than maple syrup. That would be wonderful.
I LOVE your new kitchen-demonstration area and counter top. Looks very nice. I've felt a bit "cramped" watching you before-hehe😍 Looking forward to trying these "husband favorite" cookies. I had youtube on and he said, "Come, look here, they're making PB cookies. These look good." So, guess I better get baking:)
Sounds like an excellent recipe, must try it. It's great the way you always give healthy alternatives for people who need them. Yum recipe, must make these Today!
I am so crazy about you two. I am enjoying the temp kitchen episodes. How about that purple Tovolo? You are cherished. Can hardly wait to make these cookies. xox
Underneath the title there's a few words, and then it says "more" click on that, and sometimes it will say "more" again. Click on that, also. That should open everything up. (I learned this from Javant, who has a UA-cam channel called healthy vegan eating.)
I watched this at around 11pm while I was sitting outside under a beautiful Southern California nite sky at 71 degrees! It’s hard to indoors when it’s so beautiful out, especially after 95 degree days. But I made these around midnight, ate 3, the raw was good too, and they’ll be great with coffee in the morning for an easy breakfast. I had to grind oats for flour, and used about 1/4 cup coconut flour in the absence of almond, and ground together 1/4 cup each of, pumpkin seed, walnuts, 4 dates, coconut shreds, and halved the amount of maple syrup, added the peanut butter and vanilla. Mixing all that together, and gosh, it was soooo good. It was the same ingredients I typically use when I make granola but with whole oats. Such an easy recipe, and so good for you 🌟 Thank you for sharing. Btw, I love the change of kitchens, is that Ann’s?
I'm thoroughly enjoying the episodes so much more since they're at Ann and Essie's house. You seem to have a better vibe going between the two of you then in the past. Nothing wrong with Jane and Brian's house but I'm just really enjoying the ones at Ann's house. The layout is better and you both seemed much more relaxed
For our family, it was always just one direction, my gramma said the criss cross was for a butterscotch cookie she would make. Start with a clean fork and dip in cold water between.
Every peanut butter cookie recipe I have is plant based. Without throwing in a different nut. Could not do nuts at a school bake sale these days cause of increased allergies thanks to the GE foods.
There is such a thing called Baker’s Lung. “Baker's lung, also known as occupational asthma, is a respiratory disorder that can develop in people who inhale flour dust and other allergens over a long period of time. It's one of the most common types of occupational asthma in the United States. “ I owned a commercial bakery for a while and couldn’t figure out why I always had a cough, finally discovered the correlation and started wearing a good mask while mixing baking ingredients!
My experience making your choco chip cookies that call for 1/4 cup almond butter. I used the PB2 sane amt, but the cookies did not come out like they always do when I make w regular fat almond or P butter. That was ny experience.
You mentioned this in another video: your braces keep you from snacking. My daughter had the same kind of braces and lost 10 pounds (she wasn't overweight) just because she didn't want to go thru the hassle eating entailed! Too funny!
From ChatGPT>> The crisscross pattern on peanut butter cookies is traditionally made by pressing the dough with a fork before baking. This serves a couple of purposes: 1. **Texture and Even Cooking**: Peanut butter cookie dough is denser than other cookie doughs. Pressing the cookies down with a fork flattens them, helping them bake more evenly. 2. **Tradition and Identification**: The crisscross pattern has become a traditional way to identify peanut butter cookies. This can be especially helpful if you're making multiple types of cookies, as it distinguishes them visually. The practice likely started as a way to ensure proper baking but has since become an iconic characteristic of peanut butter cookies.
Confused. In the video, they are adding baking powder, but on the written recipe here it says baking soda. That’s confusing, so which is it for goodness sakes?
I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Does anyone have any tips or references (books/websites etc) for low card vegan cooking/meals. I find a lot recipes are carb heavy. But I may just need to step further outside my comfort zone. Thank You!!!!

Great idea

also could melt chocolate and double them........just saying🤣
I don't know why, but I just love the opening song, it reminds me of old classic movies with Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant! Love it 🎶
I do too!!! I'm also a clarinet player - and so I transcribed it and now have the score!! It's so upbeat and fun!!!

Yeah we rolled the balls in sugar. Then criss cross with the fork. Maybe date sugar would work.
Yay for HAINS baking powder! It is also corn free, for those of us who can’t tolerate anything corn…my favorite baking powder! Love your video!

Would you kindly share the proportions? Sounds yummy.thankyou
That sounds healthier than a fat bomb.
I love this idea!!! ❤
TYSM for this recipe! My mom who has recovered from unstable angina following Esselstyn's advice will love the low fat version!
You both are just so awesome ! I love the way you 2 work together and your banter back and fourth what a lovely way to end my day. Ty ❤
I make a version of these but I add a mashed sweet potato and its delicious! Nice and moist.
That’s a great tip! Do you also use maple syrup or how do you sweeten it?
That would be wonderful with ginger. I was thinking about a ginger snap cookie with some sweet potatoes. 😊
Always a joy discovering a new video of yours Ann and Jane!
Isn’t it though?!!!! Just MADE my Friday!
We use that peanut butter powder too! This looks great! Thanks!
I have grown up dipping my fork in flour between criss crossing imprints
We did too then switched over to keeping a cup of water instead of the flour. Both are great techniques
Such a clever trick for measuring the peanut butter, thank you. Recipe looks delicious I will def try now that I won't have to soak my cup forever to get the pb off.
Crazy Richard's makes a 100% pure peanut powder. 1.5g total fat for 2 Tbsp
It's my go to favorite!
I made these and they are fantastic!
Can you gals do a what we eat in a week video! There are so many beautiful recipes in this book, I would love to see your choices for a week? Thanks
Love the idea of peanut butter on top of other liquid
I made them today. They came out really good. I baked them on a baking stone pan without oil. They didn’t stick.
Genious trick for the PB in the cup! Love this recipe and will try the PB2 Pure as well.
🌱🕊💚🙌🙌🙌 Thank you for this. Can’t wait to try these!! You ladies are sensational!! I treasure your books.
Good Idea with the PB2 pure.
So easy and they are already in the oven. Just what I needed!
Thank you!
My trick is to dip the fork in flour to prevent sticking. These look great!!
I’ve made these cookies this afternoon and have just ‘tested one’, absolutely delicious 😋 Thank you for another delicious recipe and for all your informative and entertaining videos 🙏

I bet an air fried would work well and keep the cookies fresh and portion control. You could free the raw cookie dough then bake in the air frier.

Jane, you have such beautiful skin!! Do you use sunscreen at all? Avoid the mid day sun?
Thank you for a delicious PB cookie recipe!!❤
These are delicious! I couldn’t find the oat flour in my area, so I used whole wheat and almond flour! Turned out great!
To make oat flour, simply pulverize rolled oats.
we always keep a glass of water when you are using the fork. dip after every couple of cookies. prevents sticking :D
I am so crazy about you two. I am enjoying the temp kitchen episodes. How about that purple Tovolo? You are cherished. Can hardly wait to make these cookies. xox
How yummy they look 😋
I’m going to make this for a hiking snack!
The peanut cookie dough is dense, so pressing it with a fork helps give it an even bake. This was done back in the 1900's.
I love these cookies 😮

I dip my fork in flour. Soot doesn't stick to the cookie. Any flour you're using will do the trick.
Please clarify: Baking powder, not baking soda, correct? They said baking powder, but the posted recipe calls for baking soda.

That's my question too!!
She did mention, ‘they’re not going to grow much’, so I think baking powder, and that’s exactly what they showed they were using.

do some reading about how plant based no/oil diets can reverse type II diabetes. It's not about the carbs, it's about the fat.
I miss the other kitchen!
Would this work with cashew nut butter as I can not eat peanuts?
Of course.
Could these be made with sesame butter (tahini) instead of peanut butter?
Absolutely
You dip in flour to do your north south , east west.
That would make them a dryer crispier cookie than dipping it in water
The instructions under video say "baking soda", but your video shows you putting "baking powder" in it. Which should we use?
Jane…” what?” 😂😂
