Love your videos! Always watch when I want something pelo related but we also have a c2 and this is a great workaround! Shared with my husband because he was wondering if peloton had rower classes (still hoping they release a rower at some point!)

Love your videos, very informative! I'm looking at getting a mid-priced water rower and it comes w/ an very inaccurate digital screen fitness tracker. Can I get a good workout with the Hydrow app just by following along w/ the instructor or is it better to have a good fitness tracker like both the C2 and Hydrow have to make sure I'm working out like the instructor says. P.S. I'd buy the C2, but it's too noisy for my apartment.
Nice explanation and demonstration. Combination of a perfect Rower and App looks cool. Is it possible to display the metrics on big display including HR from external HR monitor
This is very helpful. I already have a nice water rower, but it’s from before rowers had screens or there were apps. I love the look of the hydrow classes- so I’m going to try this. I also have and love my peloton bike- and was hoping they would include row classes in the all access sub - but 😢

So - it bit of a quagmire - I have the hydrow wave - and wanted to try the built-in subscritpion package.
Then a day later, I added a monitor (like you) to see if I could used the hydrow digital app. BUT.....How can I get back into "row only" mode on my hydro wave, now that it has the built-in subscription package?

hey Steve, thanks for your videos. a couple of questions I was hoping you could answer..... 1) if you have a hydrow, could you use the $20 app instead and still display metrics? or is it only for alternative rowing machines? 2) locally there are a few barely used hydrows for sale for around $600. Im trying to figure out if I should buy that or spend $1000 on a new concept 2 and then use an app with it? any thoughts?

This is great! I have a very similar setup now, but I'm wondering how you set the angle of your PM5 this way. Mine goes diagonally up towards me, like most pictures of the C2. Did you modify yours? Any ideas from anyone would be awesome
Glad it’s helped! Just turn the arm over that the PM5 sits on and it’ll be able to go lower. 👍🏽
@@SteveJulien hey there. I tried turning the arm upside down. It still looks different than yours, and the PM5 doesn't fit.

I think I figured it out... after looking at videos of very similar models, it seems the newest ones have included a device holder, which changes things and takes away the flip option. I'm sure I'll figure something out though. Thanks again.
@@jamesperkins6972 You can likely get the device holder from Concept2 as a retrofit for your model. I got one for my Model E and installed it myself

Do these apps have a racing option and can they yell out stroke, stroke, stroke to keep you on track for a specific time? Lastly do they have H.I.I.T. Workouts aka interval training. Where you row normally for a minute and hard for 30 seconds or other variables? Ty

Sorry Steve, I’m being a really thick ! In your video, you showed attaching your iPhone to your TV via Apple TV with an HDMI cable through an Apple AV adaptor. My Apple TV only has one HDMI port so I cannot figure out how to connect my iPhone to the TV via my Apple TV with only one HDMI cable - what am I missing here?
When using the AV adapter from your phone, you bypass the Apple TV altogether and it just goes in the HDMI on the TV.

The app is not available in the Netherlands.
I just bought one, arrived 3 days ago, but I am disappointed. I really don’t feel I am getting a workout. In going through the motions, it doesn’t seem like a good cardio machine. Thinking about returning it 😔
I much prefer iFit to hydrow to be honest and I can use the same sub on my bike and treadmill. Hydrow content seems cheesy. Better off with the Aviron rower if you want to be entertained all round.
