    If you end up trying different values anyway, why not doing it from the start? It will take a few seconds to find the solution x=5 without even using a pen.

    For factorials can you always assume that you’re working with integers?

      Yes, I think so, they are always integers if what you initially assumed is also one.

      Yes, the factorial is only for the domain of natural numbers. However, we have extended the factorial to the reals, which is what we call the gamma function. The gamma function is unfortunately complex, so using the recursive factorial operation is better where it is possible.

    Factorial is a very fast growing function and the equation (n-2)! = n+1 can be reasonably expected that n is close to 1. n=3. As I supposed.
