Man, our bass line for Upland Highschool are all freshman and new to the drum. Yet they are bringing so much pride to the drumline with their awesome confidence and amazing ability to pickup and play any splits we place in front of them! And they're all freshman!!!

The hardest basses are 2&4 then comes 1,3, then 5. 2 is hardest because they play twice as many notes as 1st bass. But bass 1 plays the stuff with the most chops, depending what your book has. HANTOW Campos​

Yeah it's better when basses are tuned this way as opposed to being tuned to ring out more because then it's harder to hear the splits.

My goodess those splits are smooth. You have that feeling of those splits fluctuating in your chest. I am a Junior and I play bass 3. The thing we have 4 tonals and the rest consits of drop basses ( 8 basses in total ).

Victoria Rey Played bass 3 freshman year and moved up to 2 for sophomore and junior year. I plan on also playing bass 2 senior year as well. Words cannot explain how in love I am with playing bass and being in marching band as a whole.
