When you listen to a few more of his live tracks, you can tell... He's actually a really good singer, he's just being super faithful to the original sound - for both Bernard and Ian. Frankly, he's doing a better Bernard impression than even Bernard can pull off these days.

Thanks Lensflare & Larsen - Pure joy!! Grateful Peter Hook formed his own band. As a fan of over 42 years and regularly (daily) listen to their music, I am thrilled Peter Hook & the Light bring back & deliver Joy Division/New Order songs in an authentic, raw, and perfect way!!! Ian would be thrilled. I've seen them twice, booked again another three times - just love them.
Great. As for criticism of vocs have you never realised that dodgy singing was part of the charm. Hooky has it. Big thumbs up from me.
He may look older than in the 80s, but you can clearly see that his character and personality never aged . Hooky is still the wild and charismatic man of New Order, just that he isn't in the band anymore.
He was always my favorite one from New Order.

I've been to 5 perter hook and the light gigs, from dead house to full house they were all amazing, hooky and the guys are exceptional and put on a great showcase of the classics
Merci, revivre les années 80 avec les vrais musiciens et le vrai chanteur .....C'est un cadeau, très beau cadeau pour la "new wave" , en France tout le monde adorait ce style musical, et aujourd'hui? Personne n'a oublié, tous les Français de cette époque ont dans leur tête ces chansons ou particulierement cette chanson, inoubliable!, marqué comme au fer chaud sur le bétail, toutes les personnes de cinquante ans rêveraient de revoir, d'écouter à nouveau New order sur des scènes, malgré l'ambiance politique..... toutes les personnes de Cinquante ans adorent New Order! Adore the grunge Hooky and his band bring to this song - pure joy. Have now seen them live seven times with another three booked. Can't recommend enough for Joy Division/New Order fans to see PH&TL live if you get the opportunity :)

I saw Peter Hook and The Light last night and they didn't play Blue Monday. I didn't mind but a lot of people left wondering why.
I think Hooky is the making the best music these days compared to his former cohorts
He understands what the fans want to hear, and genuinely puts a ton of emotion and passion into playing that and providing a hell of a show for them. I get the impression from reading his books that he never forgot that he came from a poorer background and got where he is today *because* of the fans, and he seems to genuinely want to perform his best for them. I can respect the hell out of that.
Not really he's just doing karaoke and pandering to self-importance for money. The band is doing just fine without him.
Saw them with a friend at Rochester castle earlier this month they were musicaly brilliant but its time he gave up the vocals crowd went nuts tho when they played thus

You do understand the reason why NO wrote Blue Monday in the first place, do you? They wanted a song that could be played entirely by machines so they wouldn't need to do encores. You may as well complain that the bass parts were played on a bass.
Peter Hook perfectly performed the immortal hit New Order, no worse than Sumner. A more charismatic musician.
Hook vocals and music quality is raw and authentic to Joy Division. The 2023 New Order tour with them playing Joy Division sucks…GO HOOKY! ❤

Too much chorus and too little overdrive ( if he even uses overdrive nowadays )
It sounded better in the 80's cause there was perfect balance between the two, now the bass is too smooth for a new order song

Never understood why guitarists and bassists hold there instruments so low . It is not conducive to comfortable playing ! Also you can’t play difficult material if you hold your guitar that low ! I know they think it is cool !
