This is so authentic to the recorded versions. When you listen to a few more of his live tracks, you can tell... He's actually a really good singer, he's just being super faithful to the original sound - for both Bernard and Ian. Frankly, he's doing a better Bernard impression than even Bernard can pull off these days.
I totally disagree. The original 12" of Blue Monday was almost 8 minutes long with a lot better. Still they are super worth seeing. Better than New Order IMO
J’ai 76 ans. I am 76. I live in Brittany. For me, Peter Hook is a great bass player. I saw him in Nantes, five year ago.
Thanks Lensflare & Larsen - Pure joy!! Grateful Peter Hook formed his own band. As a fan of over 42 years and regularly (daily) listen to their music, I am thrilled Peter Hook & the Light bring back & deliver Joy Division/New Order songs in an authentic, raw, and perfect way!!! Ian would be thrilled. I've seen them twice, booked again another three times - just love them.
I've been to 5 perter hook and the light gigs, from dead house to full house they were all amazing, hooky and the guys are exceptional and put on a great showcase of the classics
Pourquoi? Devinez? Merci New Order, Devinez? Merci Messieurs.
He may look older than in the 80s, but you can clearly see that his character and personality never aged . Hooky is still the wild and charismatic man of New Order, just that he isn't in the band anymore.
How is that venue? We come up from western NY for shows (Scotia, Budweiser, Queen Eliz Theatre) but avoided History so far - because of "general admission". Wasn't sure if my 5'2" wife would get crushed in the crowd or even be able to see. Thanks - I'm going to see Hookey in Buffalo next year!
@dragooz8859 I've been there 5- 6 times. It's just over a mile from where I live so very convenient. There is an upstairs baclony GA area from whicn she will get a better view. Being on the floor in the middle would be tough on a shorter person but it's definitely worth a look. Great relatively new venue. Check it out!!!
Adore the grunge Hooky and his band bring to this song - pure joy. Have now seen them live seven times with another three booked. Can't recommend enough for Joy Division/New Order fans to see PH&TL live if you get the opportunity :)
He understands what the fans want to hear, and genuinely puts a ton of emotion and passion into playing that and providing a hell of a show for them. I get the impression from reading his books that he never forgot that he came from a poorer background and got where he is today *because* of the fans, and he seems to genuinely want to perform his best for them. I can respect the hell out of that.
Interesting to see how Peter Hook and the light is a much better version of new order than new order, have you guys seen the latest version of this song done by NO?
Saw them with a friend at Rochester castle earlier this month they were musicaly brilliant but its time he gave up the vocals crowd went nuts tho when they played thus
You do understand the reason why NO wrote Blue Monday in the first place, do you? They wanted a song that could be played entirely by machines so they wouldn't need to do encores. You may as well complain that the bass parts were played on a bass.
@@NoxiousRob your right it just isnt the same since hooky left new order then nothing lasts forever sad the way things worked out..............................................
Too much chorus and too little overdrive ( if he even uses overdrive nowadays ) It sounded better in the 80's cause there was perfect balance between the two, now the bass is too smooth for a new order song Good riff tho
Never understood why guitarists and bassists hold there instruments so low . It is not conducive to comfortable playing ! Also you can’t play difficult material if you hold your guitar that low ! I know they think it is cool !
This just doesn't feel right. It's like the Dead Kennedy's without Hello. It becomes a cover act regardless if one original member is in the performance. I feel it's a money grab and Peter should be ashamed of himself

PETER HOOK...WHY NEW ORDER WAS TOPS ! HIS ART TODAY IS SMASHING !
One of the best song of the 80's!
He may look older than in the 80s, but you can clearly see that his character and personality never aged . Hooky is still the wild and charismatic man of New Order, just that he isn't in the band anymore.
He was always my favorite one from New Order.
for a second i thought you said he looks older than 80 and i was like whaaaatttttttttttt
Spot on!
Going to see him Tuesday, can’t wait 🙌
Awesome song and sound!
Great rendition of this 80's classic, pretty much stays true to the original. 😊
Just awesome...
Mr. Hook simply rules...
Been lucky to have been able to see him in Manchester a few times 😀😀👍👍
Very good vocals considering it is such a classic
Saw them last Saturday at History in Toronto. Amazing. New Order is my favorite band of all time. My third time at least. Hooky was awesome.

Great relatively new venue. Check it out!!!
This song is for eternity...
Rock on hooky.
The best of Manchester
The Legend himself Hooky !!!!
Outstanding 🎼🎼🎼🎼
song for ever.
Great. As for criticism of vocs have you never realised that dodgy singing was part of the charm. Hooky has it. Big thumbs up from me.
Highlight and Evergreen.
EL MAESTRO DE LA GUITAR BASS LLEVÓ A OTRO NIVEL SU ARMONIC
I bought this record when it came ou, but now my brother has it ....give it back !
sept 6th in Brooklyn baby. can't wait. I'm gonna tell him how I feel.
Adore the grunge Hooky and his band bring to this song - pure joy. Have now seen them live seven times with another three booked. Can't recommend enough for Joy Division/New Order fans to see PH&TL live if you get the opportunity :)
Blue Monday, if you are a certain age and you know, you just know.
Superbe, Merci.......
arJust awesome. One day I'll catch tickets near me that are not sold out in Cambridge. I've even got my JD t shirt to wear
I think Hooky is the making the best music these days compared to his former cohorts

Not really he's just doing karaoke and pandering to self-importance for money. The band is doing just fine without him.
Interesting to see how Peter Hook and the light is a much better version of new order than new order, have you guys seen the latest version of this song done by NO?
Just searched for Hook because New Order with Bernard sounded weak.
Hooky looks great.
Canzone che ha anticipato i tempi
Grand plaisir,
1980 => 2022 = Blue monday 2022 ! wie gestern. wieder und wieder.
Man would 🎹believe🎸this song🎤🎶
Yeah , always the same guy...never change...👍👍
I saw Peter Hook and The Light last night and they didn't play Blue Monday. I didn't mind but a lot of people left wondering why.
Is that a Shergold bass?
I asked myself too, what are this, Baritone Guitars or six String Basses?Never Seen these Instruments before.
legend
HOOKY!
Oooofffft 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nothing better
🖤🖤🖤👍👍
He’s in good shape. No homo
Shame they split, new order needs darker tunes.
He left; they're doing just fine.
@BarkK nobody asked you. They're doing just fine.
@Thunderchild 6768
I don’t care who you didn’t ask,but NO sounds like they should’ve retired years ago!
They should have split earlier if anything, they hated each other and the records show.
Great song. Is Hooky actually playing anything?
Nope he didn't need to. His fans lap it up
@@Thunderchild-gz4gc How sad.
Yeah! Behave.
I see joy division widows... Everytime...
oh yes
music ok but the voice I could easily forget
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Twist: the guy doing all the bass parts so Hooky is free to sing is the world’s #1 Ian Curtis & Bernard impersonator..
Hooky est New Order...
🦇 °°° 😎 The Great ★ Peter HøøK ★
♡ JD ~ NØ ~ PH&TL ♡
Saw them with a friend at Rochester castle earlier this month they were musicaly brilliant but its time he gave up the vocals crowd went nuts tho when they played thus
Hooky kills it.
The drummer just drinks beer
Hook vocals and music quality is raw and authentic to Joy Division. The 2023 New Order tour with them playing Joy Division sucks…GO HOOKY! ❤
New Order
Much of that 'live' performance is being played by Machines ! dx
I’m assuming you’re new to New Order ?
@45rpmSINGLES the real band and not the laughingstock karaoke band you like?
You do understand the reason why NO wrote Blue Monday in the first place, do you? They wanted a song that could be played entirely by machines so they wouldn't need to do encores. You may as well complain that the bass parts were played on a bass.
needs more bass ...
Peter Hook perfectly performed the immortal hit New Order, no worse than Sumner. A more charismatic musician.
Back then pop music had originality which doesn’t exist today with crap like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé etc …
It is not good whitout Bernard.
It is not New Order without Peter Hook
Um..he sounds way better live than Bernard.
The band sound incredible but Hooky's singing weak. No worse than Bernard in fairness.
@@kwmccarthy Peter sounds better on the Joy Division songs though.
@@NoxiousRob your right it just isnt the same since hooky left new order then nothing lasts forever sad the way things worked out..............................................
Karaoke at it's best.
Make it up with Bernard before it's too late .
a joke that hookie
Not musically
Too much chorus and too little overdrive ( if he even uses overdrive nowadays )
It sounded better in the 80's cause there was perfect balance between the two, now the bass is too smooth for a new order song
Good riff tho
drummer: 😐
crap thats all
What did I miss? Was there a rights battle....love him but he slaughtered the track. What the WHAT!?!
He's not a vocalist!! Never was
Never understood why guitarists and bassists hold there instruments so low . It is not conducive to comfortable playing ! Also you can’t play difficult material if you hold your guitar that low ! I know they think it is cool !
Implying Bernard can sing 😭
this guy is badly out of tune..
This just doesn't feel right. It's like the Dead Kennedy's without Hello. It becomes a cover act regardless if one original member is in the performance. I feel it's a money grab and Peter should be ashamed of himself
Err The band is Peter Hook and The Light .
@@45rpmSINGLES did you actually read my comment. So its a cover band
@@vars666 Paul McCartney singing Beatles songs doesn’t make him a cover band
He's just doing this for money and fools keep giving it to him.
Upadek...👎
