That's the truth of the situation in a nutshell. Ignorance is being allowed lead our society.
Cops are criminals themselves.
People would say, that when they see the police they are thinking "I'm I going to be arrested for something? Or nothing at all?", "Will I be ticket for some random crap?", "Will I get killed if I do some wrong move?".
I think many people are thinking more on these lines.
Notice that with, or without the police people are still being attacked/ killed/ robbed.
Even when eventually some of the wrong doing people are captured they either came out to the streets immediately or in a few years... without being ready to be people doing the correct things.
This is one of the dumbest statements I've read about his week. Since when do police PREVENT crime? They don't. They literally come after a crime is committed,and if they happen to be their during the crime they can legally wait until you are robbed or die before getting involved. Why do you guys push such ridiculous propaganda? It doesn't help spread your message.

@@SergeantSoldier Saving people from slave owners was considered a crime. Being in jail does not necessarily mean you did a bad thing, you just did a thing that someone who is more powerful than you doesn't like you to do. There are many people in jail who didn't actually hurt or harassed anyone.

Budget cut can't solve this issue. I don't undertand how people think that. If your car has an issue not start to use cheaper fuel. Smart officers will move to more respectfull area, only the cheap officer will remain, whom don't find better positions. I'm just curious what will happen after that. The police will be worse... so cut the budget again?

The Uvalde Police Department waited over an hour to enter the classroom, and cops are butt hurt that they aren't appreciated.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone be a cop in this environment. You could be the most squared away, trained, and joined with best of intentions and you will still be demonized. It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens going forward if the numbers continue to decline.
In 2000’s América was a beacon of hope to most of police forces, but today….I am sorry but the american people turn police officers in something that I cant relate to😔 I am CO in Portugal and citizens have more respect for my profession then with todays police in the US.and that is sad

Yeah ask the people of NYcity Chicago Seattle portland all of California Baltimore and DC just how thats working out for them.
I used to work for small department back in 2015 before I left another bigger department for super low pay. But this small department at one point had 60 officers and when I left they had like 20 and then down to 10. For me after 8 years working for another department, I’m ready for a career change or to switch to a city with more educated people. But if you ask me, I would say this country needs to eliminate traffic enforcement units in police departments that are only there to collect money from the public for minor traffic violations. These cops are not in it for public service they just want the court overtime pay. we can’t rebuild relationship with the people like this type of policing.

Policing need a huge reform. Get rid of all the losers with GED’s and superiority complexes running around. Mandatory college degrees in related fields, continuous education and physical fitness exams every year. Naturally a hefty pay increase as well.

Honestly, I’m surprised this hasn’t happened sooner, police are unpaid, overworked and some of their equipment is questionable (you could make the same agreement for teachers, nurses, etc, and should), on top of that they have to enforce questionable laws from the city, county, state, and US government, it’s a perfect storm, they need to change policing for the 21 century, seriously, police rules of engagement and their probable cause for engaging with the public such be the same for every police department, in this tech world we live in, you would think there's a better way

I mean if they are short staffed because they cannot abuse people or harass people, or in some cases have a harder time getting away with heinous acts that should cost their jobs is a good thing. My wife make false allegations against me because she is was diagnosed with schizophrenia her mother have schizophrenia her father mental illness she put wd 40 empty can in the laundry room and she called police department and police department investigated this was nothing and still she divorce me I dont see my kids for two years and police nows for a long time she have problem but when she called them many times they saw something is wrong with her but still come and scared me I have to leave country because system was punishing me for doing nothing dcfs came 3 times for nothing I was asking them to help me not punish me and her and still the only one answer is divorce this system is sick

This weekend I was driving and came across a bad accident on the highway. The Police are first responders to these accidents which may be life or death for those involved. So before you personally sentence those first responders remember policing is only a fraction of what they do and see.

Nope. So long as qualified immunity exists, and body cameras can be controlled by the officer, there can be no trust.

My city’s over 100 officers down, you literally get paid more at Chick Fil A or quite literally any position including housekeeping, landscaping and everything else you can think of, and any position in any grocery store in town. In fact, really the only places that pay less than the police department are one or two retail stores and a couple ice cream shops, I believe. So when you absolutely cannot feed your family on the paycheck in a city where officer involved shootings happen at least every other week, do you pick up every available overtime shift, work a second or third job, or quit? Kinda weird to me that people don’t understand why cops are so stressed when that’s what they’re living on. Area fire departments pay well under poverty level, ambulance positions are open at $13.10 an hour after cost-of-living raises… But people don’t understand why the city’s burning to the ground.
Its not accountability. Its being a political punching bag. Non of the public has our back. Non of the legislators or politicians have our back. A good example is a couple officers just got charged with murder for a guy dying after he ran from police snd got hit by a car. The guy was a criminal and knew he was riding dirty which is why he ran. The police never touched him. But they got changed and convicted of murder just for trying to do their job. This type of thing is happening all over the country which is why moral is so low and people are leaving. Not worth our freedom, house, or family over stuff like that. Especially when we get no recognition for the good work we do at catching criminals and saving peoples lives every single day.
Frankly, Defund is not the sustainable solution. What we need is more training courses for police and enhance policies, a tight budget is mean that fewer police and rising criminals. Actually, I suffered this situation on my country (fewer police) and believe me that everybody will regret soon
