Right on Jake...I heard this song on a juke box in 1976 at 12 yrs. old...The next day I asked my mom to buy me a guitar and started learning to play....
When playing the G&A chords at the 10th-12th fret, try playing just the 2 notes D&B(12th fret) then slide to the 14th fret for the A chord. Gives it a slide guitar feel.
Very good lesson I've used other UA-camrs for this song and they didn't teach as much of the song so starting out with you I had the main link down well and know I jam this song every time I pick up my guitar and this song just has a great feel to it its hard to explain but I love it .THANK YOU
So good! Genuinely upset the UA-cam algorithm didn’t introduce me to @JakeAndrewsMusic sooner! So grateful for the lesson and too have found this channel.
Great job!! Just like one of the comments I read "The coolest guitar lesson on UA-cam!" I love the slide work you done on the lead. I've been working on getting that sound for quite a spell. I subscribed and I can't wait to see the rest of your guitar lessons! You're a blessed man, you played at a Eric Clapton Crossroads Festival. Very cool. I would have loved to have seen the rest of your show
Xlnt I knew he was peddling in E and you got it all laid out sweet !! Nice slide vibe. I hate taking my guitars out of standard 440 That's just me We won't even talk about Floyd's 😝 Great demo thx 👍🙏
Great lesson. ZZ Top is one of my favorites. There’s a good documentary about their career call That little ol band from Texas. Is that Mike Flanagan on bass in the clip of Billy playing sharp dressed man?
Thanks so much! I'm playing through my original 1950's Fender Princeton amp. Added a bit of drive as well. Just getting the natural reverb from the room:)
Wow your tone is great on this 😎👍. Are you getting room reverb or did you add some verb from the amp or a pedal? You really broke this down well and simplified it so even a hack like me wants to try it. Nice job Thanks for sharing.
Yes, exactly-just the natural room reverb:) Playing through an old Fender tweed with just a bit of drive added. Thanks so much, glad you're enjoying the lesson!
i just got to the end of the vid,so cool man,i was 13 when this came out,im gona check out all your vids and follow your music and subed, thanks man.@@JakeAndrewsMusic
Very nice. Great job on the constant thumping jumpin E. In standard tuning, try going to E on the D string for the end of the riff, after the pull off on the G. Hear if you like it better. I do. 😁 Of course Gibbons uses a different tuning which makes it sound ultra cool, as he intended it. ua-cam.com/video/6c7d8BYJy8I/v-deo.html
@@JakeAndrewsMusic No. Can’t do that on stage every time. That’s. Why I have three guitars In different tunings. I can just grab one for the next song.
This is possibly the coolest guitar lesson on UA-cam !!!! Thank you Jake 😎
Thanks so much Rob for the love! So glad you've enjoyed it:)
I would have to agree!! killer!!
Doesn't count w/o the faces

It almost sounds like you stepped on a boost or drive pedal. Is that the case ?
Thank you - very cool. Showing the right picking is essentiell
You bet! Thanks
Hell yeah Jake! Timely, we just interviewed Billy today for our CC film.
Wow, that's gonna be a great film! Glad you enjoyed it:)
This is cooking, Jake - and nice job with the tone, too.

Deadly❤
Thanks so much!
cool lesson thx! ;)
Thanks Roger, glad you enjoyed it!
Billy approves.
Yessir! Thanks:)
I got the riff down pretty good, but I just can't get the facial expressions at all.
Be patient, those take years to master. You'll get there one day!
Eventually you'll do it and not even notice.😊.
Just pretend you are on the toilet and constipated .
I suspect trouble with facial expressions is what drove the Reverend to grow out the beard.
Eat about 11 bananas and jam early in the morning after your 2nd cup of coffee 🍌☕️
That was awesome man! Beautiful LP too 🎸👍🏼
Thanks my friend! Yep, it's a special one:)
Awesome
Thanks Michael!
Great sound and feel man. Thanks for the lesson, loved it!

Thanks Matthew. Glad you liked it!
i'm not a sucker for bursts but yours is awesome, awesome xong too, will definetly learn this once i've got a tighter rythm
This is a unique one for sure! Thanks Fabien, glad you're enjoying the video:)
Fabulous lesson, thank you for posting this. Do you also have a lesson covering the slide solo?
I haven't done a lesson for the solo yet, no:) Thanks for watching Cary!
Great lesson. ZZ Top is one of my favorites. There’s a good documentary about their career call That little ol band from Texas. Is that Mike Flanagan on bass in the clip of Billy playing sharp dressed man?
Yep, that's Mike playing bass! I've known Mike since I was 14 years old:) Thanks!
Great teacher 😎🤩what amp and effects you used for this
Thanks so much! I'm playing through my original 1950's Fender Princeton amp. Added a bit of drive as well. Just getting the natural reverb from the room:)

Yes that's a great way to play it and totally makes sense! Thanks so much:)
*promosm* 🌷
That is much harder than open E. Like Billy does it.
But then, you don't have to retune your guitar😆Thanks David!
@@JakeAndrewsMusic No. Can’t do that on stage every time. That’s. Why I have three guitars In different tunings. I can just grab one for the next song.
