Grizzly G0958 Jointer - Planer Unboxing and Review

Unboxing and doing a quick review for this jointer/planer combo unit. Overall I really like it and think it was a very good buy. I recommend this for anyone starting out with processing their own wood from the lumberyard. I believe it will serve me well for many years, at least in jointing operations. I may buy a standalone planer soon-ish.

Very well done. Was hoping it would have some infeed and outfeed extensions for when in use as a planer. As a jointer, it seems fine. Looking at my options as well for this spring.

I dont believe it has any table extension as far as I know. I have recently run some 36 inch long maple through there and it was fine, you just need to support the wood with your hand as it comes out. I do plan on buying a standalone planer in the future, this planer will get you by for sure but definitely has some limitations.

How heavy is it???????????????? Is the table cast iron or aluminum????????????

It’s about 50-60 pounds.

It’s definitely an entry level tool. But it’s very convenient to have both a planer and jointer in 1 machine for my small workshop.
