I always wonder when I hear about a pregnant women is not allowed to do Dukhan ( Tish in my country Eritrea) because our mothers used to do it specially in pregnancy they say it helps in labor. But doctors and many modern woman are against this practice during pregnancy.
The reason many say not to use in pregnancy is smoke or steam can dry or dislodge the mucus plug. Some use it around the time of birth to help and it can be used after birth or menstruation as well as various other times, but certain times caution should be used. It can be used to help with many things including tightening and detoxification and healing etc.
Lovely video, I would like to know what Marlene says in the video about the different treatments she offers for brides and the benefits of dukhan, can you please provide a translation?
Lots of love from the North! I loved the video thank you so much for the detailed information. If you need any extra assistance with translation I'd love to help!
Please view the closed captions that I have uploaded. The other treatments include Halawa, (sugaring) which you see at the end of the video, and a cream(bushra) that is smeared on the body then the person enters the Dukhan, and Dilka - an exfoliating scrub after some sessions of Dukhan.
The treatment from brides are weekly for 3 months. After the wedding married women can continue after birth, and then intermittently some will do it every few months if they so choose
it looks better than incense. Incense always ends up with a sweet and stinky smell. Or maybe I'm using the wrong kind. Anyways this is very interesting.
She is in Juba (Kololo street) on the same side of the street as the American Embassy, 5 doors to to the left of the Embassy. Just ask for Marlene Eliza salon of the businesses located to the left of the Embassy
Where as it is okay, socially it is not encouraged because of some morality codes as to not encourage sexual activity before marriage. The smell of Dukhan is associated as an aphrodisiac.
Marlene says for intense bridal treatment to do one session daily or every other day for a month to three months. For general health use, it is up to your tolerance. The treatments do take time so some women schedule a trip once a week, or they may cluster a session daily for 3 days in a month.
We will always be one land and one nation, regardless of boarders. It's a shame we failed in managing our diversity. Love you and love your videos
Than k you
We was one Sudan and we will be one again for sure
We do dilka and alewa for brides, and it makes their skin super soft and they glow
I assume dilka and alewa is the same as smoke bath, yes?
Dilka is a body scrub that you can apply after the smoke bath
Sending always my full support ❤God bless you always... Watching from Riyadh Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Thank you.

ماشاء الله ربي يبارك
Why is this done
To make your body smell very good. It can be so alluring the woman remains indoors the first few days.
الدخان تخص نساء السودان السودان ويجب أن لاينسب لي أي دولة احتفظ به نحن السودانيات
ok.
هنالك نساء أخريات تستخدم الدخان مثلا تشاد وليس لسودانيات فقط
