Kev you are the reason why I really started to get into rc cars and since then my wallet has been emptier. But now that my current rc car is in tip top shape I'm going start saving for the Xmaxx!
I got my Xmaxx two weeks ago and it’s flat out the best RC I’ve ever used. Been out of the hobby since the HPI Savage was the newest nitro RC.

What more could you want from an RC car:
An ESC that doesn't catch fire
A body that doesn't pop off
Battery trays that don't eject your expensive and volatile batteries
A brand that doesn't sue everyone for no reason
A chassis that has a higher centre of gravity that a bus
A wheel hex system that is no where near 1/5 scale
An actual centre Differential that does what a Differential is supposed to do
Just to name a very few.
I think some of those issues(but not all) are more aimed towards the 6s x maxx. I have one and nothings happened except a bearing disintegrated In the slipper clutch.
Kevin you should do each video with a tip at the end so viewers can be informed on what to do and not to do when modifying their RC car so they don't make mistakes

@@jrcthekidd My diff drive cup let go on me on the last outing. Wasn't even giving it any welly. It's done far more hours on the work bench than it's had run time.

If that thing crashed at 150 mph there would be carnage. The motor and batteries to drive that xmax to 150 would be a really tuff issue if possible.

I've never really noticed this before, but this video really shows how high the Xmaxx's center of gravity is, it really an off road basher MT, and no good for speed runs.
rc monster trucks are not supposed to be speed cars but mine does 60mph in bash setup, some have got them to go over 100mph, not really sure why you would want to go faster than that in a monster truck!
@@KevinTalbotTV Yeah, MTs are really best for bashing and off-road. It seems that when you were doing the speed runs, you had some issues with the Xmaxx flipping over/wheelieing. Maybe a longer wheelie bar would help, you could put it on when doing "speed runs", and take it off when bashing. I know you don't like wheelie bars that much because they get in the way of bashing, backflipping, etc.
I wonder how much modification would be needed to get an Xmaxx to 100mph...lowered ride height, new tires...by the time they're done, they pretty much made a new car! 😂😂
My Favourite is E-Revo 2.0 but it broke often but if you upgrade servos and suspension there is no much problems, E revo can do backflip on wall or do standing backflips, E revo is very Easy to steer it in air, it corrects itself very quickly in air, In my opinion its the best RC Car😉

The control you have of an Xmaxx is second to none!
Very happy I chose to get one. Although disappointed the motor has failed already...8th run. Was doing some big backflips off of a curb...of all the things to break in the driveline I was surprised it ended up being the motor.
Hey Kevin, been watching your videos for a while now, always entertaining! I've even adopted a few of your "phrases". If one of our little dogs bounces off the couch, it's a "tumble, wumble!" 🤣 At the ripe old age of 60, I still enjoy these RC cars. While I love my Krayton , Outcast and Granite, I would love to have one of these big ass Xmaxx trucks! 👍

I jus bought an x maxx and parts keep breaking. But my regular maxx I had over a year and nothing has broken yet!

Hey Kev I did the same thing to my Dumbo on the steering wheel! Never seen anyone else do it, it's way too small, nice soft weather stripping solved it, and makes it SUPPLE!

Awesome fun there Kev. I think Traxxas knocked it out of the park with this design really, minus a few faults here n there. As I don't drive mine as often or as extreme as you do, after a year and a half mine is still stock and undamaged more or less. Even after letting my sons drive it a fair bit.

I have to agree 💯 with you here!!! I love all Rc cars but there’s just something about the XMaxx!!!! My XMaxx has been tested with some crazy jumps over the last 15-20 packs. I’ve only had minor breakage so far. Probably about $100 in parts to fix and upgrade so far. Every Rc needs a few upgrades to make it right at least the XMaxx mods are cheap. I recommend everyone get a Traxxas XMaxx!!!👊👊👍👍🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

I had a T-Maxx and Revo and found them somewhat scary since they are so heavy yet fast. You could kill someone if it landed on their head. Also had to switch all the suspension arms to RPM since they broke after a few crashes. Lot's of fun for sure. This X-Maxx looks quite the beast!

Bought an Xmaxx. First run the shock cap broke after a roll over. No replacements parts anywhere so Traxxas sent me replacements. Fixed that took it out again, another roll over (hard braking) another broke shock cap, stuck it in a corner for a few weeks. Fixed that took it out and ran a set of batteries to low voltage. On the 4th charge it shredded the garbage metal pinion. Sitting in a corner again, and I have 2 Maxx (orange, green) in the mail.
Maybe one day my built from eggshell xmaxx will be durable, but at the moment it's a $1000 POS paperweight.
Have had that car my self. the S6version. And a TLR E-xxl2 and the Axial XXL. loads of fun all of them!!! The TLR E-xxl2 vas 100kmh out of the box! The diffs was week tho...

My main issue with the xmaxx is that it kept shredding tires and ejecting suspension pins. Put some beadlock trenchers and captured hinge pins on it and haven't had a problem since.
That little flip at 5:18 was awesome 😂

Kev, your channel influenced my decision to buy an X-Maxx last year. I've bashed the crap out of it since then and only busted a small handful of parts. They truly are an amazing RC. I have a Maxx too, Some seriously fun toys!! Thanks for all your content. Your channel plays almost every hour of every day in our house as my 5yo is a fanatic!! Hey, you should do a review on The Persids Classic Model NN90 Millitary Truck! I've heard its very upgradable.
So bought a used XMaxx and it keeps burning up the steering servo, when sitting still. I’ve put 3 2870x servos in it. I’m at a loss. Will work fine for several batteries as long as you don’t let it sit still. Replaced receiver and now burnt up a 4th servo….
Only thing missing is a "King of RC" edition! Come on Traxxas!

With all the shock loading of the diffs from just about everything you do I am surprised they dont strip out more often.
