We didn't see much of the cheapo but it seems like a great fun car.....jumped well, smooth, didn't cut out and for 1/10 the price seemed brilliant fun..!! 😀
The cheapo actually uses the exact same chassis as the HBX 2995. I have two and they are super good looking and tough as nails. Upgraded one to brushless and a year later it's going strong!
While the cheapo car is a bit crap and slow 😂 looks like it would be great for the kids to get into the hobby 👌 rather than them smashing up a maxx etc. It actually jumped quite well and took the landing 👌
I have a really old rc car that probably stays in the single digits. For some reason I once tried to jump it and as you can imagine it was quite pitiful.
Doesn't it just fall apart? I had a 1/16th brushless revo the thing was veryfast on 2s and just constantly breaks... diffs/drive shafts and everything in between. These cheapos actually don't seem half bad.
@@javiertrevino2808 RPM replacement parts are much much better then factory and will make it way more durable, aluminium bulk heads and shimming the diffs are a must or another option is a centre diff but they aren’t as fun, they are great when they are modded and the little things that break are addressed
Hello Mr. Talbot! I am from Belgium and i have been watching your videos for a few months now and i have to say i really enjoy them, thank you for making them and putting your time, money and effort in to them! I do have one question about the ebay-selling. Is it dropshipping that you are talking about or would i need to have the physical products? I am asking because i am interested in buying and following your course...Anyway, love all that you do and all the best of luck to you! Happy New Year🎆🎉
I've got one of these and for the money it's quite good. And yes it's fully ball raced with an all metal transmission and centre diff. It's also reasonably waterproof. I've given it some right abuse and so far nothing has dropped off! 👍🙋😊
The cheap one is actually pretty damn good. I have smaller one to that and it has taken a great beating these past three months and nothing has broken. Only thing that happened was that i stripped the spur gear which they really are metal.
@@Donald_Turnip it might be cheap aluminum casting i believe but the worst part was that there was no grease in there which leads me to think that the gear got hot and kind of shredded a litte bit but also kind of looks melty. Im going to throw a new gear in there and fill the case with grease and see if that works. Unfortunately there are no aftermarket upgrades for these yet that i know of
Great stuff Kev 😱. The Cheapo actually looked pretty good out there 👀. Same with the Savage. Wondering if you got a junk VXL 💩. Max8 was a game changer for the Maxx. 🍻😎💪👊👊
Kev, one dirt cheep truck I’ve been wanting you to review is the arrma granite voltage 2wd monster truck. I know you don’t care much for 2wd but a 1/10 scale truck from a name brand for under $100 is hard to look past. Also would love your opinion on the 4wheel steer Axial Capra crawler. Cheers
Kev, do you check the preload on the Traxxas trucks before you bash? Sometimes they ship with too much slack and simply tightening the slop out until the spring doesn't rattle when the suspension is unloaded can reduce chassis slap considerably.
Kevin you are so full of life, you are the best and I love watching all of your videos. You my friend are a Dimond in the ruff, you are by far my favorite UA-camr, I mean you're always a blast too watch..
I bought a traxxas maxx last month saved so much money just to have every electronic component fail the receiver died the esc died 4 light of death and the motor might be fine but before it died it was not going very fast so I'm assuming that died too
It put a brushless motor in it... You should do that Kev.... It has decent parts.. just will need bigger battery for the brushless. I think that would be great
Hey kev I just bought some 3.8 bandito MTs for my maxx v2 and i noticed it was overheating the stock gearing is 23T pinion 50T spur what would you recommend I gear down too I couldn’t find anything online to help me so I was hoping you would have the answers I’m looking for
For $85 not bad at all better then I expected honestly I’d buy one and probably will especially if a young kid wants to drive one and doesn’t have that much experience
I have the same problem with my Rustler 4x4 VXL the delay in the motor form the Raido is so annoying I want to try a different ESC motor combo in it like a MAX10 combo I've done everything to try to fix the delay endpoints factory resets reprogramming the esc nothing @RichDuperbash put a MAX8 in his MAXX V2 and he said the delay was gone so try a new ESC the VXL ESCs are okay but if they are gonna cause problems I'd rather pay an extra $70 - $100 dollars to get a great ESC that won't die on me early
We didn't see much of the cheapo but it seems like a great fun car.....jumped well, smooth, didn't cut out and for 1/10 the price seemed brilliant fun..!! 😀
was sort of kev proof at those speeds - he ain't having that!😃
@@billynomates920 ha ha....true..!!! If he can't test it to breaking then he's not happy, but it saves us trashing an expensive car 👍👍🤣
i get the cheapos for my jack russell he loves to tare into them got a wltoy 144001 havent left him case it yet hope that it is faster them him.
For the money it's actually a really good entry level RC! 🙋👍
A set of oil filled shocks and you can call it a day. 😁
Surprisingly the little one jumps smooth, not a Supreme basher but could be fun for some
The cheapo actually uses the exact same chassis as the HBX 2995. I have two and they are super good looking and tough as nails. Upgraded one to brushless and a year later it's going strong!
I love how he has so much rc cars
The cheap on is a good beginner for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot!!!
I LOVE THE MAX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those 1/16th guys are a lot of fun. Go brushless and they’re capable of 30+ mph.
While the cheapo car is a bit crap and slow 😂 looks like it would be great for the kids to get into the hobby 👌 rather than them smashing up a maxx etc. It actually jumped quite well and took the landing 👌
my 3 jeahr old son is driving a wltoy 124019 with smal gas ajustment...he loves it
It's not bad for the adults either. It's a right laugh! 😄👍
Whats with the emoji’s every now and then
I have a really old rc car that probably stays in the single digits. For some reason I once tried to jump it and as you can imagine it was quite pitiful.
Obviously that Tornado thingy isn't a patch on the Maxx. It would be good for a kid to learn on though.
tbh i would love the cheapo for my first rc ive been watching and wanting an rc for about 3 yrs now sti waiting for my moment
We upgraded a couple of the similar 1/16th Redcat cars to brushless on 2S...needless to say, being slow is no longer a problem lol
Doesn't it just fall apart? I had a 1/16th brushless revo the thing was veryfast on 2s and just constantly breaks... diffs/drive shafts and everything in between. These cheapos actually don't seem half bad.

The cheap one with a brushless motor might be fun

I think the Maxx is the most durable truck of all time
Great video as ever Kev! However I would've liked just a sentence or two of your thoughts on the cheapo. Thanks mate!
You should try upgrading that cheapo RC car I think it has a bit of potential.
Love from India, Mumbai ❤️ HAPPY NEW YEAR Kevin... 🎉
For how cheap it is it's kind of fun.
Cheapo ESC and brushless combo in that lil cheap truck (rebranded hbx 901a by the looks of it) and I'm sure it will be a different animal!
The Maxx is a beast.
Even if it needs 6S and a lower kv motor :p
I've got one of these and for the money it's quite good. And yes it's fully ball raced with an all metal transmission and centre diff. It's also reasonably waterproof. I've given it some right abuse and so far nothing has dropped off! 👍🙋😊
@Zombed The Man I don't think you would be disappointed. There's a promo code on my channel so you may be able to get some money off still? 👍👍
Which one the expensive or cheap?
The cheap one is actually pretty damn good. I have smaller one to that and it has taken a great beating these past three months and nothing has broken. Only thing that happened was that i stripped the spur gear which they really are metal.
Yeah it does, This is the same one (underneath ) as my Paddle tire truck video. cool to see you over here , Kevin Talbot is my favorite
I really rate this little truck. 👍👍
Literally all that's happened. Ti my rustled 4x4 vxl.
@@Donald_Turnip the pinion and the spur are a ferrous metal of some description. Not aluminium or brass. 👍

Way to run that little guy Bro. You gave him a fair shake. I can’t believe how cold it looks brrrrrrrrrr
Thanks kev for posting again I can't believe I've been watching your videos for 5 years now
Legend!
Ok thanks
If you’re going outside in the UK this time of year you’re definitely gonna find out if it’s splash proof!! 🤣
This small one rides better on 3s and bigger wheels 😁
We need more vids like this kev
I would say the little one is on par with Arrma 2s brushed motor granite that costs twice as much.
Tbh that "cheapo" one seemed pretty good for beginners or children definitely get that over a 500$ Traxxas for your kids >10
Great stuff Kev 😱. The Cheapo actually looked pretty good out there 👀. Same with the Savage. Wondering if you got a junk VXL 💩. Max8 was a game changer for the Maxx. 🍻😎💪👊👊
You know with a brushless motor the little guy probably would be pretty fun for the money.
Would love to see more content of the Traxxas Summit you got. 😍 Love this channel!
Make the Inexpensive one fast, and see how it holds up? Seems like a great Rc truck for someone that doesn't have a ton of money to drop on this hobby

Tomly got one of The losi drag cars. I'm sure there's one on Ebay
Is ur fav rc car the mini xmaxx?
When he said $85 rc car was cheap. Me be looking at my $16 rc car…
What is the best battery that I can get for a traxxas slash 4x4 that won’t be too expensive?
Hey kev i think it is cutting out because the shock oil is too soft you should put some 50 wt in the back and 40 wt in the front
Man every day with Kev is so good. My rc car is not doing the greatest. I want to save up to get a maxx.
Kev, you promised a 1 million subs special, we're all waiting for it!!
i never promise anything

HAPPY NEWYEARS KEVIN TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES…keep making some crazy videos show these guys how to really use an RC car or truck at full send 💯💪🏼
U need to compare
Maverick Quantum MT Flux and
Traxxas Maxx 1/10
Its gonna be awesome
That little RC Truck is cool and jumps better then bigger one
Do you think you can make a video troubleshooting the bogging problem the maxx had? I think my slash has the same problem
Would love to see the snow chain tires on the mini maxx ! Did you ever tried them Kev?
Hey Kevin… love the show, you should mod the cheapo.. and make it a beast!
Ive ordered myself the hobao hyper vs kit, seeing this i cant wait to get mine running, getting back after 10 years
I think it's safe to say that the maxx won. but for a cheap rc it seems like a little fun.
Cheapo Looks more like a stadium truck than a monster truck.
my maxx has the same cogging problem, try lower gearing and if that doesnt work then try putting a new motor or esc in
if was fine out the box, think something went wrong
Kev, do you check the preload on the Traxxas trucks before you bash? Sometimes they ship with too much slack and simply tightening the slop out until the spring doesn't rattle when the suspension is unloaded can reduce chassis slap considerably.
The amount of time kev spends editing his videos that’s why he is becoming the number 1 UA-camr as always awesome and incredible work 😉
He's got his brother doing it now. Surprised he didn't employ him earlier tbh.
"number one"
The V2 seems to handle very well Try the Revo tires on it Kev It will get a bit more air control and stability around corners
Awesome vid 🔥👍✌️
Skateparks in my hood are always full unless it's raining
i like it how the mini maxx suicide jump sounded like the minecraft death sound
Lol...Claire ""show us how it's done with the little one"" naughty girl
Ha! Love the comparisons. I guess you get what you pay for.
Could you try the hpi maverick quantum mt next? There is a brushed and brushless version u choose
Anyone else think this chap looks like a discount Richard Hammond ?
Looked like it performed well for such a low price.👍
I got a similar truck, Brushless power and paddle tire, check out out sometime
