The way CP, Trae and Harden have mastered it to the point where a floater could actually be a lob… Videos like this get you right to reach heights like that with consistent hard work
as someone who isn't gifted in the height category. Being able to have an effective floater game has helped me be able to score over bigger defenders. Great addition to anyone's game.
At 6'7 and not super athletic (24inch vert) I've been trying to add this into my game to shoot over larger more athletic players. I've also noticed that it might be the easiest shot in all of basketball, it's definitely been my highest % shot over the last 3 weeks or so.
One thing I noticed when I was still playing is that I made most of my floaters when I placed my shooting hand behind the ball (not under) as the momentum of my jump is usually enough to push the ball forward and I just need to raise my hand for a good energy transfer and it still has a soft touch even running at high speed. I don't know if it works for others too. As a short player energy efficient shots are good to preserve energy for long games. You can place your hand under the ball for longer shots. But it is still better to shoot pull ups on 15 ft and beyond.
im not tall, i wish i learnt this at a younger age, i always just use to challenge the big man in the paint. mainly i would challenge him with my vertical by doing a up and under layup. i wish i had learnt the floater though so that if he sees that i use and is effective with it then he would have to come out to contest it which would then leave under the basket clear so my teammate could be there to receive a pass from me..

Him not editing it out but showing us the misses is awesome 👑king
Really good drills for developing that touch around the rim in a varied fashion. Great video as usual as well!
Tony Parker had the best float game, man!
Tony Parker was amazing at this. He would also elevate at unexpected times/footworks to throw off the help defender.
You always go into detail about how and why to support what you’re saying. Great content as usual 💯

Thank you for also showing your misses, that's honesty and confidence, even NBA stars can't score 100%

The floater (NBA player) is from the same foot, if right hand float, right foot jump
