Any tips for getting a good tone for this? i feel like my tone sounds good when i play whithout the backing track / song on. but as soon as i play with the song de tone just does not sit well in the mix. it's hard to hearmy guitar clearly , while the volume is clearly high enough. great cover!
Hi, you might just add some mids and treble to better cut trough the mix. A tone which works in a mix sometimes doesn't sound that great on its own. I use a Boss GT 100 with a dual amp simulator, combining a modern and vintage rectifier sim with bass middle treble at around 60% and gain at around 60%.

@1:38 Insteead of 1-0 on the 5th string you're playing 7-8 on the 6th string; I like that better, but its not what the tab says

Desensitized to the entertainment industry? Come on. Go back to before TV and radio existed, hell, read Shakespeare…it’s the same themes and events, just in a different format. Has nothing to do with modern media.
Read “The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe, published in 1846…it’s about a guy getting revenge and burying his friend alive.
That's the problem, its not the entertainment industry. The song is about human nature. How we will watch the news and crave seeing violence and drama in other people's lives as long as it isn't our life. We crave to see all this violent stuff but are unhappy when it happens to us.
