The gamble may not be as good as you wanted but you’ll probably still be ahead in the end.

Couldn't tell from the video where the leak is coming from. Could be a head gasket....With that much coolant in the oil it's more likely to be a cylinder liner O-ring leaking.
Either way the head's coming off. Not much more work to do an in-frame while you're there. Pull a main and rod cap while you've got the pan off and take a look at the bearings....coolant is pretty hard on bearings.

Haha that is the exact conversation I had with the mechanic. He’s thinking O ring but we’re gonna do an inframe while he has it apart.

Those of us that have the guts to take the gamble, sometimes there are great rewards and sometimes you wind up with a pain in the butt, but you never know until you take those gambles!!!! Although on the surface it now seems as an average deal, the truck will come back to you as good as it can be, and should run basically forever!! You could have paid a lot more for a truck that was supposedly in mint condition, and it could have blown a head gasket in a thousand mile anyway, and you still would of had to fix it, but you would have paid a lot more upfront!!

This is very true, no one likes to spend the money, but I still have a lot of wiggle room in this deal. My goal is never to get upside down in a piece of equipment, I should be able to get this truck setup nice and still sell it even or for a profit if I’d need to.

Naa, as long as the block is ok it’s cheaper to rebuild. Cat motors are designed to be rebuilt in frame.
