Thank yor for the button tip! In the manual says incorrectly to hold the jog button down for 5 seconds in the menu window, but that actually turns the monitor off. Your tip to pull the button toward myself solved my problem!
I updated and I've had no problems at all! Thanks for letting me know that this is possible. Hope this helps somehow. If there are any updates I'll surely post them here. If there's no reply, just assume it's going great :D And remember, format your USB flash drive to FAT32 format first, then paste the .BIN file onto the flash drive, insert it in the back, click the toggle once, then pull it towards you for 4 seconds, and select update and let it rip!
This didn't work with my Kingston Datatraveller USB (4GB, FAT32, 4096Width), but another USB stick (2GB, FAT32, 4096Width) that I randomly have around worked
Had simmilar problem when I was formatting my USB Kingston DataTraveller 64gb for my Audi. It could read music, had to format to fat32 on Ubuntu...... then it worked. :) Just wanted to share.... i was going mad, jumping from my car to my PC, to car, ... loop. :D
Hi - a couple of people did mention that the monitor only recognised some USB sticks formatted FAT32 and not bigger than 16GB. Maybe try another USB stick ?
Hi, I have to be honest - I would not really know as I did the upgrade fairly soon after getting my screen, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Typically (you hope) firmware upgrades fix something and make things better 🙂 I have not had any issues after the upgrade, so at least that's good.
Hi - I don't think you can downgrade as I only see the new firmware available for download AND the upgrade process only looks for versions of the firmware higher than currently installed. I doubt the image quality would degrade from a firmware update as they typically only add additional features & bug fixes. I did not see a degradation (or improvement either) from upgrading, but I do like to ensure the latest firmware runs on my devices where I can.
Hi, I have two Samsung monitors LU28R55. The first one I bought with firmware upgrade 1006 is working perfectly. The other one which was upgraded by the factory to 1007.1 after 5 minutes of operation starts flickering constantly, flashing on and off. I have tried everything on earth, changing cables, swapping PCs, updating drivers, changing NVidia Drivers (RTX 3060) from Gamer to Studio, etc... still flickers. I was thinking to downgrade it back to 1006 but I cannot find anywhere on the net anything about downgrading. Also I have tried to re upgrade the firmware to the same 1007.1 but it wouldn't do it. Any ideas apart of sending it back to Samsung? Many thanks.
Hi, unfortunately I don't know what options you have. You mentioned trying different cables, etc. - have you also tried the different HDMI ports ? Also - resetting to factory defaults from the on-screen menu ? I'm grasping at straws here, sorry. 😞
@@LazyManJoe Hi, I have tried everything, HDMI, Display Port as well, I have reset it to factory defaults. I have changed the adapter from the monitor that works ok. I have also changed the power point. Same problem. It is still in warranty 4 months old only. Many thanks for you quick reply.
just saved my day haha thanks!
Awesomeness! 😁
thank you! I never would have figured out that you have to pull the button towards you in order to run the update!
I came here to say this! Thanks for showing that step!
Great! Happy this helped!

Thank you so much. It worked perfectly for me.
Use a 16GB Samsung USB in FAT32. Other USBs had failed for no reason...

BTW. the sheme of the FAT32 HAS to be Master Boot Record (MBR), else "not valid", before you try 10 different sticks....
Thanks for sharing this info!
Thank you really helped me out

Did you notice any improvement?

btw did any of you have any issues with the display turning on and off constantly at 4k freesync on..rgb pixel format full.. 59hz or 60 hz.?
Yes constantly
Hello, my version was 1005.1 and I updated it to 1007.1. image quality has deteriorated. How can I go back to the old version? thanks
