Baking Baguettes ... some mistakes were made ... will I make it again?
Baking baguettes for the 1st time, inspired by a recipe by Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen.
Improvements to be done next time:
1. Remember to score the baguettes!
2. Learn how the rolling out process works.
3. Keep the size of the baguettes in line with the pizza stone

Baking a recipe found on the King Arthur Website: www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/the-easiest-loaf-of-bread-youll-ever-bake-recipe I'm still learning & experimenting with different recipes, but this turned out well - even though the kitchen was a bit cold and the dough took some time to rise. just saved my day haha thanks!
Awesomeness! 😁
It’s not good at all
🙂 Which part of the video, or are you talking about the device ? I have about 5 of these sensors all over the house & they're working like a charm!
@@LazyManJoe They suck... they dont last for long and not accurate either... thats why they are cheap
@@XSpt1 Thanks for the heads-up. So far they've been working well for me, but I will certainly keep an eye out for any issues.
great video but you skipped a lot of steps such as making the caps for the friction fit caps did you reduce anything like underextrude 1mm inwards or just matched the same opening dimensions?
Hi @rawtravisawr, apologies on that - I did go through that part too quickly in the video & did not explain in detail. I used the same dimensions for the inside letters as what I originally started with, but I extruded (inward) a 1mm "wall" to make a lip which would then fit onto the base and to give the cap a bit of rigidity. Because the caps are printed with only a 1mm wall, there is a bit of flex to push them into the base. I have an old Ender 3 Pro printer and its tolerances can sometimes be a bit "off" 🙂 - so my L & M letters fit quite snug, but the J was a bit loose. Hope this helps!
Just the tutorial I needed. Thank you much good sir!!
You’re welcome! Glad it was useful.
hello I am new to 3d printing and I want to understand how the light passes through the cap I tried and on my side the light does not pass well... is there a type of filament and a thickness recommended? thanks
Hi @rodley1806, I used PLA + white filament (nothing special), but the design for the cap ends up as a hollow letter with a wall thickness of between 1mm & 2mm (mine worked out to 1mm). This helps to not be too thick for light to go through, but still sturdy enough to slide into the base. Cheers!
@@LazyManJoe thanks for the reply
Looks delicious. Good job 👍
Thanks - it was amazing & I am going to be doing it again soon 🙂 [some lessons learnt and need to practice a bit more!]
How long in the fridge?
@NicholasLampitt - I leave the meat to marinade in the fridge for 18-24 hours, turning it regularly to make sure all the liquid covers all the pieces of meat. Then I hang it in the biltong maker.
It looks tasty, thank you for the recipe.
@@michaelprinc it is really easy, quick & very tasty 😋 You can mix & match all kinds of ingredients for the filling! (I just used that I had in the fridge 😅)
Doing good man! I suspect your channel will grow soon. Keep it up
@@olivierdalenoord3764 thanks a lot!
Love this, keep it up Love the apron as well, very nice 👍
😅 Thanks for watching! When the opportunity presents itself, wear the apron 😂
I can't make anything with dough. It never turns out for me. Not sure why.
Dough can sometimes be tricky due to a lot of factors, things don't always turn out for me either - but practice helps. Most of the time for me it was related to the yeast and room temperature (too cold), and me getting impatient. Just hang in there and don't give up! It is SO satisfying when you get it right and taste your amazing handywork!
eitcha recitinha mal dada
Sorry @marasilva1011 I don't understand Portuguese (I think)
DELICIOUS 😊
when you're folding it over, sprinkle chopped fresh herbs in it.
That's a great idea! I'll try it next time!
Looks so tasty, I’ll have to give it a try! Thanks brother
Thanks man! I hope it turns out as good for you as it did for me!
How long do you cook it for, and at what temperature? Looks great, man. Keep it up.
Thanks for the comment! I'm still learning a lot on my "Baking adventures", but having a lot of fun! Bake the bread for 20-25 minutes at 230C (450F) - the bread should sound hollow when you tap on it, or you can check the inside temperature to be 87C - 90C (190F)
Thanks homie!
I especially like how there was none of this “allow to cool” nonsense! I’m doing this tomorrow
The smell of the fresh bread "forced" us to taste !
Nice video man 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
sorry but you're not doing Quiche Lorraine, since there's NO cheese in the quiche! never! and i'm from Lorraine
@@MaximeSchiltz - I’m learning & will have to do some research it seems 😅 Thanks for commenting!
Wheres the glaze 😊
I made too little glaze (ran out of ingredients & had to use what we had). It still turned out AMAZING!
BTW. the sheme of the FAT32 HAS to be Master Boot Record (MBR), else "not valid", before you try 10 different sticks....
Thanks for sharing this info!
hi, really enjoy your videos so I just want to say thank you
Thank you very much! I enjoy making them & appreciate the feedback!
Nice
Hey! You should maybe add some lardons (diced bacon bits, i don't know the name in english sorry) and cook it a little more, 5-10 mins. Love the positivity tho!
Cant lie that looks scrumptious
@@MokayaTTY it was amazing! I realised I should add a tsp of salt ( maybe just 0.5 tsp) but that’s for next time 😃
love it
I updated and I've had no problems at all! Thanks for letting me know that this is possible. Hope this helps somehow. If there are any updates I'll surely post them here. If there's no reply, just assume it's going great :D And remember, format your USB flash drive to FAT32 format first, then paste the .BIN file onto the flash drive, insert it in the back, click the toggle once, then pull it towards you for 4 seconds, and select update and let it rip!
🤌🔥🔥🔥🔥
Well you learn something new every day
Thanks for reviewing these keyboards, was debating between the two. Congrats on your channel! 🎉
very nice!
Hi, i downloded and they asking to install mac os 11 or up is required , what shall i do?
Hi @shameemm467 - if the installer asks for macOS 11 it means you need to download an earlier version of Davinci. I had to work my way back through the list of installers to find one which worked. On my Mac the eventual version that worked was Davinci 16.2.8, but it depends on your Mac and OS - so you will have to use trial & error to find a working combination. Also remember that you won't be able to upgrade from that version once you have a working version and you will need to stick with it, as the next version may require an upgraded OS. This is a very tedious process to find a working combination. The other option is to try Davinci Resolve 16 as a base to know whether version 16 onwards will work on your machine (and then install each update until it doesn't work anymore) - if this doesn't work, then try Davinci Resolve 15.3.1 (which was the last 15 release) as this release states macOS 10.12.6 Sierra as a minimum.
Thank you so much for this, I could not find this info anywhere else!
Great! Happy this helped!
Hello. thank you for the video. I have High Sierra. I followed the steps in the video but unfortunately, it is not letting me install it because it asks for system 11.0 onwards.??? Can you help me, please?
Hi Jona - the only thing I can think of for this is that the version you’re trying to install will only work on later versions of MacOS (I assume when you say system 11.0 onwards you mean the next version of MacOS after High Sierra). If the version of DaVinci you tried doesn’t work, you need to try an earlier version (& if that doesn’t work, even an earlier version) The process can be very tedious and once you find a working version, you will have to stick to that going forward as you won’t be able to upgrade DaVinci as the upgrade will require an upgraded version of MacOS as well 😅
@@LazyManJoe thank you, I´ll try
Thank you really helped me out
the manual is lame, does not say to pull forward and hold. thank you!
error. my mac 10.13 wants to have higher versions. mac 11 and up. :(
Hi there, this normally happens when the version you downloaded (Da Vinci Resolve 16.x.x) is maybe 1 version later than supported on your Mac (10.13). I had to go back to previous versions of Da Vinci until I found a working version. It is a pain, but the only way I could find the latest supported version on my Mac at that point.
it ask for activation code
You need to check the download and download the free version (NOT Studio) - the Studio version is paid for, but there is a free version.
btw did any of you have any issues with the display turning on and off constantly at 4k freesync on..rgb pixel format full.. 59hz or 60 hz.?
Yes constantly
Hello, my version was 1005.1 and I updated it to 1007.1. image quality has deteriorated. How can I go back to the old version? thanks
Hi - I don't think you can downgrade as I only see the new firmware available for download AND the upgrade process only looks for versions of the firmware higher than currently installed. I doubt the image quality would degrade from a firmware update as they typically only add additional features & bug fixes. I did not see a degradation (or improvement either) from upgrading, but I do like to ensure the latest firmware runs on my devices where I can.
@@LazyManJoe thanks
@Shisui477 You can update, there is no problem
thank you! I never would have figured out that you have to pull the button towards you in order to run the update!
I came here to say this! Thanks for showing that step!

Thanks so much.
it says that no update is available when im on my monitor with the usb plugged in
Hi - a couple of people did mention that the monitor only recognised some USB sticks formatted FAT32 and not bigger than 16GB. Maybe try another USB stick ?
Hi, thanx 4 video & links, idont have de license number, do you? It doesn't give me the option to use the trial version TnX again
Hi, make sure not to download the Studio version but rather the normal one - it does not require a license key. The Studio version is the paid version & thus needs a key.
yeah i tried everything you did exactly the same and it still gave me the error
Nice first steps
its not even downloading 🥲
Hi, are you sure you're selecting the correct download and that you then complete the form with your detail ? Thank yor for the button tip! In the manual says incorrectly to hold the jog button down for 5 seconds in the menu window, but that actually turns the monitor off. Your tip to pull the button toward myself solved my problem!
