Amazing work, you guys took the time to clear and grade the dirt floor before installing the liner, That’s one of the main reasons that the job looks so perfect. Whatever your customer paid for their crawlspace encapsulation looks like they got their moneys worth.

Several years back I worked for a cable company. Went to the customers house to run a new line to one of her bedrooms. She led me to the crawl space entrance around back and told me "Oh you're in for a treat." I was caught off guard by the comment but once she opened the crawl space door and turned on the light I knew - JACKPOT! I remember taking pictures and sending them to the other installers. It makes for a relatively easy time working under the house. Everyone should do this.

@@waynelawson1235 Not sure of the costs. But where I live the ground usually stays moist and this would help cut down on insects and make maintenance easier. I imagine it would help with termites as the moisture level would be lower and inspecting for them would be a breeze. I'm sure it's not for everyone but I would get it if I needed it (no crawl space at my current house)
TheBlindingwhite I'd probably just sell the house and buy one on a slab before going through the expense of doing this 😆 but it does look cleeeeeean

Dude honestly my dad was just in my aunt's crawl space to turn off a water value and it was dark and sandy and musky and smelly and creepy and at least had a plastic bag floor, but it was seriously so dirty that it was creepy. I'm 100% recommending you guys to my aunt

side note: the white colored membrane is a great idea for ease of lighting the area.

What size Encapsulation Liner is that? And what's under the Encapsulation? Dirt, gravel or some simple board?

@@Waterandmoldpros sure. I studied bpi house efficiency for a bit and this is a huge improvement for a home's thermal barrier. Plus if you have to actually go in your crawl space it's nice to have it so clean.

What are the specs on the HydroSeal?
Very nice work. It looks beautiful. Does the vapor barrier attach directly to the walls or do you have foam board underneath? Does this vapor barrier seal all the soil off gassing?
Even concrete can not block radon. So it depends on the off gassing. An airflow system under the tarp or concrete is required if radon is above 2 in your area and you don’t want it to buildup in your house.
So did you guys cleaned the crawl space prior to filming?

That’s impressive but I got some floors I bet anything you can’t make look this good lol. This is what you call a gravy floor. It’s high and easy to move and not many peers.
Exactly spot on! I do vapor barriers as well as close-crawl encapsulations and dehu installs. Usually, I say usually when a crawlspace is this "flat or smooth" its because, as Schell Brothers does, the crawlspace is "encapsulated" before the actual framing of the house takes place. Therefore, everyone can stand up, pull the poly super tight and flat and tape everything up to the blueboards and piers very nicely.
@@michaeldavis9373 yeah they definitely showing the easy ones. Also when you encapsulate you don’t have to batt the floor. Who ever did the insulation put the batts in paper down which is wrong.

This job looks really great the butt What if you have an older house like built in1978 with aluminum ductwork and the ground is all gravel !? Does this keep out moisture and water or does this encapsuling just improve the appearance

I do hvac and we suspend our furnaces like that . We put them in the attic tho I hate doing crawl spaces lol

That is beautiful work. We are considering having ours done here in north Florida but we don’t have any moisture problems so I’m not sure it would be worth it. All of our wood is bone dry.

I’ll start by saying I think crawl spaces are evil and I would never buy a home that used one. A basement is a must for me, with a slab on grade a second if soil prevents a basement like in TX or FL.
But if a builder is going to create a home with a crawl space foundation, why aren’t they required by code to encapsulate and make them like the one you showed, rather than the wet, fungus infested, rodent and snake pits you often see?
What you showed should be table stakes for any home that uses this kind of foundation.
The A/C ductwork looks like it was done by the 3 stooges.
