Thanks for talking about lifestyle as a factor. I've found if I'm sleep deprived or under a lot of stress, no amount of skincare can make my skin look good.

Hi! I just wanted to say that I totally agree with you. I have also noticed that whenever I'm really stressed or overwhelmed, my skin looks bad and skincare can't seem to fix it. Having a bright complexion definitely starts from the inside.

Another great video, Kelly ^_^ For me, the key to glowing skin is exfoliation. More specifically, using The Ordinary Peeling Solution. I'm well aware that it's a controversial product, but I love it and have never had any problem from using it :)

Hydrating toners are a game changer. Tried a few and was like ehh. Then I tried Haru Haru, Pyunkang Yul, CosRx peptide. These made such a difference. Love them.

As much as I love glowy skin, with the humidity and rains where I live I’ve been actually getting back into the matte look but I can’t wait to rewatch once we get into fall/winter. In fact I’d love some tips on how to layer products in humidity.

My skin type is normal but it can be reactive (I don’t think I could go ham with The Ordinary’s 30% AHA+2%BHA for example)
I’ve started using some kojic acid 2-3 nights a week. I’m already a big fan of products made with fermented rice and saké and galactomyces. I found one really nice and non-sticky night cream from Bubbles with kojic acid and mandelic acid that my skin really likes. I also have a treatment w 5% tranexamic acid, 5% Azeloglicina, 5% niacinamide and 1% kojic acid and it’s effective but without causing any irritation. I’m unsure of the name of the product, it says Transparent Lab on the tube though 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have another product from them with retinaldehyde, retinol and peptides in a very nice PM cream that spreads really elegantly compared to similar products so when I have tretinoin nights I sometimes combine with that one.
Most nights I like to baby my skin barrier with Dr Cicapair Sleeping mask (I buy the 75 ml tubs to bring down the price a little) and the Round Lab has a beautifully formulated, lightweight mugwort cream that I use both day and night - preferably in combination with (Numbuzin no 3 toner/essence +) the Ma:nyo Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule. I love the I’m From Mugwort essence and I’m From Rice toner and rice cream too! HaruHaruWonders Inscented Black Rice Moisturizer is also a thicker cream and I love it under my eyes, in dry areas and at night. Beauty Of Joeson’s Dynasty Cream is perfect for normal/combination/oily skin types and in the summer. I really recommend Beauty Of Joeson Dynasty Cream to everyone ❤ I think Dr Jarts Cicapair line also can be appreciated by everyone, from dryer skin types to if you have more oilier or even acne prone - the Dr Jart Cicapair Sleepair Intensive Soothing Repair Mask won’t clog your pores but rather help you! Especially if you combine it with for example a toner or serum from Abib/Anua/Axis-Y with heartleaf ( mugwort) and or the I’m From Mugwort essence.
Take care and have a nice August ❤🌸🌾

I tell ya, it may be because I'm older, but since I finally got my skin to a place where it has a glow. I mean, right after cleansing, before amy serum or moisturizer. I mean, my bare-bare skin is shiny. I won't put anything on to dull that! No more matte amything for me! No powder, no mattifying sunscreen, nothing! I don't even wear foundation anymore! I worked too hard for this skin to tone it down now😉😆😂🤣

      Fave products?

    • @DRVenard
      @DRVenard 5 місяців тому +1

@niamhbyrne4036 Well, it's been a journey, but I used TO'S glycolic acid toner to get all that layer of years of not doing skincare off while using Ample N: cerimide shot ampule. Then began face shaving/dremaplaning (tons of hyperpigmentation under all that fuzz) Now: cleanser (Inky List Hyaluronic Acid cleanser) Tiam Vita B5 toner, Copper peptides (If TO's then I don't use antioxidants ) G&G's power peptides. I only use Mary and May Idebenone and Blackberry Concentrate Serum for antioxidants. I use generic .05% tretinoin. I started with the granactive form of retinol, hydroxypinocolone retinooate and transitioned seamlessly. And now for moisturizer I use The Stratia Moisturizers. Interface mostly. Add some lipid gold if I need extra. I was using the Vanicream without sunscreen. My favorite sunscreen is Scinic Enjoy Supermild Sun Essence. Who says you can't do glow on a budget? Now, I only use the glycolic acid occasionally. I rarely need to exfoliate now that my skin is healthy. Hope this helps some🥰

Great video. I didn't sleep at all last night, and it shows on my face, ugh. To get really glowy skin, I love to layer on the Dr. Ceuracle Kombucha Essence and sit with saran wrap on my face for 25 minutes, and my skin looks so nice after. Like a trip to a facialist.

Hi Kelly, thank you. Please, Which will you choose as your moisturiser between stratia lipid gold and illiyoon ato ceramides and will you still slug irrespective of what you choose.
Can you slug with the Laroposhey cicablast balm or what product?

    • @KellyDriscoll

I use lipid gold as a serum since it doesn't have occlusivity and my skin needs that. Illiyoon is an awesome moisturizer! I only slug when the season and my skin need it (winter, dry skin or very dehydrated).
You can slug with whatever you live, Cicaplast is great! You'll need to stay tuned next week since I'll be talking more indepth about my favorite barrier repairing products!

Hi Kelly unfortunately as we age that youthful plump glowy skin really isn’t as achievable, but we can have decent skin nonetheless. I’m 52 with rosacea and eczema (plus other health issues) and what I see in the mirror is redness mostly due to damaged capillaries and signs of aging. Don’t get me wrong I am grateful to live long enough to experience aging, but it’s still what I see when I look in the mirror. There may be a touch of body dysmorphia though as it doesn’t seem to be what other people see when they look at me. Random people have thought my partner is with a significantly younger woman (he is three years older than me only) and are amazed when they find out my actual age. Friends say my skin is great for my age, but they’re my friends 😂. People don’t see the redness as much as I do, or if they do it’s not as big of a deal it seems. We are always more critical of ourselves than other people’s perception of us is and it’s worth remembering that. Best wishes x

Diet sure plays a massive thing with skin health, otherwise there is no point in skincare. Especially habits like smoking and alcohol pretty much destroy your skin. Refined sugars like sweets, cakes and also junk food are also bad for your skin, plus the waist line. I personally avoid these, i also do not eat dairy, instead I have soya milk, tofu and soya yoghurt. Cutting dairy really helped both my skin and also my IBS issues
