Hey man I still like them for sure. With the studio build I haven’t been doing much mixing however. Not enough time in the day with my regular 9-5. They’re good pieces of gear. I’d say the Zulu beats out the TS500s.

Yes, I mapped them to drum kits like logic. If you have logic you should be pretty plug n play
Purchased! Love how it sounds. Made a kit in Kontakt, not so satisfied with the way it came out (very usable :), still ready to pay more for a more professional version of it in Kontakt or anything relevant with Pro Tools.

Hey DM. Great video as always. I'm wondering about your One Drop Sample pack for drums. I'm interested in buying it but it depends on something.. I use Ableton, and enjoy finger drumming with a Launchpad midi controller. I'm wondering if the sample pack would be ready to play as a drum rack in Ableton - but where the sample is triggered by how hard I hit the pads. For example can I get multiple different samples to play on 1 pad depending on how hard I hit that pad? I'd love to hear from you. Thanks...Later...after rewatching this I guess what I'm asking is is the "all in 1 sampler" available to Ableton users. I wouldn't know how to go about setting up a sampler to behave like this where each velocity level plays a different sample. Thanks again
Hey bro! The one drop sample pack comes with a file that is set up for Ableton! I know most people making reggae either do it in Logic or Ableton so I’ve got you covered. Same with the Riddim pack, it works in Ableton, Logic, and also full Kontakt player. You’ll be able to play those just like I did in this video.

I discovered it recently reading gear space or something. I watched a Langston YT video of it. I couldn't really hear what it was doing.
Can it give you a big soft Black Ark baseline sound? Is it useful and a justified improvement. I don't like super clean reggae modern sound.
I own a Zulu. I highly recommend it. It’s very versatile. Can go from clean to dirty. Definitely does a tapelike thing to the transients. I consider Langston a friend, he’s a wonderful entrepreneur and an overall good dude. He knows his stuff and he is an expert on audio and electronics. A true engineer
Hi Kahn, Nice sound coming from the drums. Which hihat mic is that, the SM81?
I have used the SM-81 but more recently the AKG C451B. The SM81 is very very flat (honestly a little too flat for my liking) and the C451B has a nice smooth broad treble boost. Cheers and thanks for stopping by!

Looks like this is something I have been looking for but I have two questions. I am an Ableton Live user. I also bought an EXDrummer kit with Reggae EZX. I was wondering how I could use these samples with the above interfaces? Is there any video on that out there?

Hey bro, thanks. You can set up any sampler in any daw to trigger them. Just need to set up a sampler (these videos are available on UA-cam for every major daw) takes a bit of time but once your set up you’re good.

If it were a few years ago, I would be buying this in a heart beat... Now I got the drums and the space to record, so I don't really need it.
But you've done an incredible job!! All that velocity is outstanding, the toms sound amazing (really hard to record and process toms properly... I know it too well, I still struggle lol!)
For my second album from 2017 I used BFD3, which is amazing, but the sound for reggae is not really there... I wish I had this sample pack then!

This is now a more professional cohesive kit recorded together in one room. I’m excited for upcoming producers to enjoy this… what we wished we had when we started! sounds great....you should make a kontakt preset with those sounds for all who work with other software, not willing or able to do the work of configuring the samples...i would buy it then....peace

Hello, I greatly appreciate your work and I am the proud owner of one of the vaux drum packs (Dub Master Drums - One Drop Reggae Drum) which I love, but it seems to me that some details are missing such as for example muffled snare drums or hi-hats that drag more over time for slower bpm, and other, I would like to know if you have another drum pack that I could buy for you that could complete the (Dub Master Drums - One Drop Reggae Drum) without being redundant, I wouldn't want to buy a pack too similar to the one I already have, I do a lot of covers of bob marley, the gladiators, burning spear, toots and the maytals, good old fashioned school. thank you again for your wonderful work, jah bless you!
Great question! I offer my legacy sample pack that covers more of the rockers and Radics type sounds. It’s only $35. I used to sell it for years for $50. The One Drop kit was purposely designed around a Carly type sound, not a rockers sound. In the future I will be making a new Rockers/Rubadub kit similar to that of the One Drop kit. Hey bro, it’s pretty easy to set up a sampler in any daw. The samples go from quiet to loud. I’d suggest searching UA-cam and learning how to set up a sampler in your daw. My sample pack will be easy to figure out how to route them per the video. All the best!

Hi man. Once again thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills, its so very much appreciated. I'd like to request a video if you can find the time please. In this presentation you talk about configuring the Logic Pro sampler so that the sounds are laid out across the keys. I have been trying to create a single sampler instrument that contains a few percussion samples taken from the standard logic loops. Basically I want to create a digital percussion player in one track that includes shakers, clave, vibraslap etc, but I don't know enough about how to use the sampler to do it. I hope that makes sense. One Love.
Hi bro! I totally understand what you’re talking about. If you have the latest logic, Basically what you have to do is find where the logic samples live, and literally drag them and drop them into the sampler. There are lots of videos on UA-cam just search “creating percussion sampler in logic”. That’s how I learned! Best of luck bro
@@DMKahn Many thanks for that. It should be so easy but for some reason I've encountered problems dragging and dropping onto the same sampler with all kinds of bizarre outcomes. Bro, I know this is for "one drop style music", but why did you not record the all snare sounds? We have only the rimshot sound in this pack?
I included the rimshot sound because there’s no sample pack out there that has provided this sound properly. I wanted this kit to be what it has been for my the past 6 months, a ONE DROP kit. My next sample pack will be a rubadub kit. Also…. If you want to add a boof baf snare sample to this you could and boom it’s instantly a rubadub kit. Instead of complaining about what’s “not included” how about appreciating it for what it is?

My apologies for coming in hot, as you can see i'm passionate about this! I will consider adding a rubadub snare as a little "add on pack" in the coming weeks. This particular snare is sampled exactly how it is, every articulation available. There's no snare wires on the bottom so its a very specific sound! It can be used in any DAW, they’re wav files. You just build your own sample drum kit in your own sampler. Might take an hour tops. Just Google setting up sampler in FL studio
